You'll love the superior heat retention of cast iron almost as much as you'll love the table-ready style of this round cocotte from Staub. The 2.75-quart capacity is great for small roasts or family casseroles.

I was gifted this product for Christmas and I absolutely love it! It is my absolute favorite pot! Could not have asked for a better product.

We have an electric ceramic top stove and had struggled to prepare dishes requiring reliable low and slow temps. Enter the high quality Staub Cocotte. It is a visually lovely and extremely functional answer to our problem and seems to be well-made. The basting spikes inside the lid allowed us to make Hoppin' John on New Years that did not simmer off the juices of the ham hock and andouille but redistributed them through the beans. We did not get a receipt for it however, and would like one to submit so we can also have the chicken lid knob instead of the plain one.

Got this for my husband as a holiday gift. We already have the 4qt and we’re looking for a smaller size. This has worked perfectly so far - the usual Staub performance and we love the smaller size. I got it for him in black, which he absolutely loved. Not really my color, but it does look very sleek.

I absolutely love this Cocotte! It's a perfect size for making soups, chili, grains like white or wild rice, pasta, spaghetti sauce, etc. A wonderful feature is the lid which has the little spheres which promote keeping juices in and flowing. It sits nicely on my stove in between uses. It's durable, and if any food gets stuck after use, simply soak with warm water and soap and everything comes right off. This is worth every penny!
Cooking can be challenging but with this Staub cast iron 2.75qt. cocotte, cooking should be fun and exciting. It is manageable to ensure dish is perfectly cook and it is light for its small is good to serve up to 4 people. It is dishwasher safe and oven safe. Smooth enamel bottom works on all stovetops, including gas, electric, glass, ceramic, induction, and halogen.
I mostly have come to bake most of my yeast breads in boule form in this dutch oven (and I bake a lot of quick breads in Bundt pans where appropriate). The 4-quart sized is ideal for a single batch recipe. I bake for about 2/3rds of the baking time covered after first spritzing with water to promoted the formation of a nice crust. Then uncover as necessary to brown. The pot will fit in my Breville Smart Oven Air with the top knob on. (It would fit in my previous Smart Oven Pro, but only with the top know removed.) The Breville heats up much faster than my wall oven and does a great job on bread with this pot. I bake the bread on convection (regular) bake mode.
I really like using this pot for warming leftover stew and pot roast. The cast iron heats up slowly and helps keep the flavors intact. Nothing drys out because it still has the basting spikes and it doesn't cool down too quickly. Your leftovers tast and look like you just prepared them in a smaller pot that same day!
For years I've been wanting to collect an enameled suite of cast iron. I'm very partial to the burgundy and dark red, but the Le Creuset palette just didn't suit me. I stumbled onto Staub during my first visit to SLT. I instantly fell in love with the Grenadine!! I waited to do research, but I should've just asked my Omaha associate Aaron right away and I would've had my 6.5qt shallow cocotte much sooner. All of the features listed are true, but what they don't mention is that the loop handles are much wider than Le Creuset and are more ergonomically designed to fit your gloved hand better. The interior finish is just as amazing as the exterior and the heat retention is unmatched. I just held a garage sale and cleaned out my house, especially the kitchen so I will ... MoreFor years I've been wanting to collect an enameled suite of cast iron. I just held a garage sale and cleaned out my house, especially the kitchen so I will definitely purchasing more of this line. If you're looking for fire-engine red, buy the cherry. If you're partial to purple, the aubergine is for you. If you're like me and love ruby red slippers or a great glass of red wine, Grenadine is your color! And let me just say Thank You to my Omaha store because when I was giving my cocotte its first bath and took off the stickers as I was instructed it damaged the finish (pretty sure I got a one-of-a-kind-lemon), I worked with Aaron and Ben and I had a new cocotte the very next day. I live 4 hours away!!! These guys are wonderful, knowledgeable, and helpful. SLT of Omaha just became my new favorite store
Great pot!! I'm using it on induction range and it's awesome!!! I have the 4 and 5 quart but this one is perfect for dried beans, soups, ect. I can put it on with the lid and it will simmer for hours and not boil dry but cook thoroughly.
I love the versatility of cast iron. Stove to oven to table. My favorite part is the heat retention. I use this size for my sauce pot. The Iron keeps it nice and hot and holds steady. The black matte interior dosent stain and the enamel lets me soak and use soap as needed without having to season.
