I’ve used Le Cruset in the past and have been happy with it, but Staub’s black interior and the heavy lid with unique design is a game changer. Such a clever design and super easy to clean. Beautiful glossy green colour too, I leave it out on the bench because it looks so pretty.

We decided to ditch all our non stick pans for cast iron/stainless steel to avoid the variants of PFOs and other chemicals used in all non stick pans (not just Teflon)This staunch has been great. Relatively non stick with stirring and easy to wash up. Seems sturdy, no chips yet. Very happy so far

After doing some research on French ovens i decided I wanted a Staub over a couple of the other more well known French brands. I have never owned a French oven before this so cannot offer much in terms of comparisons. Great pot. This is not the steamer insert I got but happy with it anyway. Would be nice if there were handles on the steamer so you can lift it up to see what’s going on in the pot. Very quick delivery by Myer.

I had been looking for a proper dutch oven for a long time, I had spent hours looking at the Le Creuset but to my mind the Staub is thicker with straigher edges which makes more sence in a kitchen. Yes, there are not as many colors to choose from but I sure found one that fit the bill. Things in the design I worry about are; the seal for the steamer basket, if the handles will withstand a drop to the floor, how scratch resistant the bottom of the dutch oven is and if the color will fade or vanish over time. Things I like in the design are; the heft (a dutch oven should retain heat, therefore it requires mass), the straightness of the edges, the black enamel (will not look tatty over time). I love, love this product. It looks great, is easy to clean ,is versatile and it cooks superbly. I love the dimples in the lid as they help keep the food moist. Meat dishes are moist and tender. Highly recommend.
This was a gift from me to me, my first adult life cooking purchase - I absolutely adore it! I was a little intimated to cook with cast iron nuts it’s a dream, can’t wait to add to my new collection.
