Headphones with Microphone Turtle Beach Stealth Pro Black

I have been a gamer my whole life and have owned dozens of headsets over my many years. I have struggled with battery life, comfort, connectivity issues, sound quality, build quality, and basic feature set always getting at most a few of those things but never the complete package. That is, until I got this Turtle Beach Stealth Pro. This is hands down the best gaming headset I have ever used. It is incredible in every aspect. First and foremost, for me is comfort. That is, until I got this Turtle Beach Stealth Pro. This is hands down the best gaming headset I have ever used. It is incredible in every aspect. First and foremost, for me is comfort. A gaming headset absolutely must be comfortable for hours on end, otherwise nothing else matters. It could be the best sound or have the best battery life but if I can only wear it for an hour or two before starting to get a headache from it crushing my head or putting excess pressure in the wrong places, it does not matter. I could tell as soon as I put it on that it would be very unlikely that I would experience discomfort from using this headset and that has proven true during my time with it so far. I have a very large head and wear glasses so finding total comfort with headsets is often very difficult. Thankfully this Stealth Pro is fantastic to wear, leading to no pressure points or headaches even after several hours of gaming in a session. I will say however that I have it adjusted to the maximum and it fits perfectly for me, but you may not have the same results if you have an exceedingly large dome.Next up in importance is sound. It supports 3D audio for PS5 and has Turtle Beach’s Superhuman Hearing which enhances things like footsteps in shooters so you can hear what may be coming up behind you. In a word, the sound quality is phenomenal. I can hear every bird, every leaf in games like Horizon Forbidden West, and every sneaking soldier in Call of Duty. Since it can simultaneously connect to your phone via Bluetooth you can take calls or hear notifications and listen to music. The Bass is strong, the high notes are crisp, and nothing sounds muddled or distorted whatsoever. Noise Cancellation on a gaming headset is something unfortunately very rare and that is surprising since it is a total game changer. If you want to be fully immersed in your gaming experience, being able to cut out all the outside noise and focus on your game via ANC is incredible. The noise cancellation is fantastic and better than most other premium over ear headphones I have ever used not to mention the gaming variety. Just listening to music on these with ANC on and doing things around the house I could not hear anything around me, just the tunes. In my experience with other headphones, I can typically still make certain noises out even with ANC on but not with these. It is very impressive. It has two microphones, one on either side built into the earcups, and for higher fidelity a separate noise cancelling boom mic. For simpler interactions the built in mics work better than most and sound great to the people I play with, then the boom mic takes it to another level cancelling out background noise and giving me more adjustability with my positioning and sound making it so there is nothing in the way of communicating flawlessly.Battery life is phenomenal, with the inclusion of a second swappable battery pack and the separate charging dock that doubles as the wireless transmitter, not only is the setup clean and minimalistic but you can effectively go forever without having to plug in to charge. Just quickly swap the battery pack under the magnetic cover on the left side earcup and keep going. While you are continuing to play your other battery can recharge and be ready to go long before you need to swap again. It is not only a very nice option for long sessions but in the long term could prevent the whole headset from becoming obsolete because of a bad battery since they are replaceable. In any case, 12 hours per battery is more than enough for 99% of gamers out there, but that swapability is invaluable. You can charge the headset itself with the included USB-C cable in addition to the separate battery, so both are always ready to go, or just swap batteries whenever needed.The last things I consider for my gaming headsets are just general quality of life. This one checks off all the boxes. It looks great, feels like it’s built like a tank, and connects to both Bluetooth and the wireless transmitter the first time every time with no lag or interference, and both connect simultaneously and can be used at the same time meaning you can take a phone call and still hear your game if you so choose. This allows you to disconnect from the real world via the top-notch ANC, but still be able to keep one foot in the door for important calls should you need to still be reachable. Across the board this headset is the best I have used. It hits all the marks for me, and I have no complaints about it whatsoever. If you want the best, Turtle Beach is back in the game and here it is. I can’t recommend it enough.

This means you can technically play on the Xbox while listening to your phone or even another console. This means taking a call without needing to remove your headset, however, the mic will take priority to the Bluetooth device, for example, when in a phone call.By default the headset is set with their signature sound pattern for audio and microphone and the buttons and rotator wheel all have specific functions. However, with the Turtle Beach Audio Hub app on your phone connected via Bluetooth you can customize practically everything. Customize the EQ for sound and microphone separately for Xbox/PC and Bluetooth, adjust the noise gate and mic monitoring levels or reprogram the function of the wheel and center button to do something else, like chat boost on/off instead of active noise cancellation on/off.The wireless dongle also functions as the battery charger and an USB extension so you don’t lose a USB port on a device that might already be limited. The hot swap of the battery that lasts well over 12 hours keeps the session going with only a minor interruption of exchanging the battery. You get at least 30 minutes of tone warning before you get the final voice prompt telling you it is powering down.Now, don’t get me wrong, this headset is the best I have seen of Turtle Beach and has more capability than some others I have seen in this same range. However, there are some quirks about it that I hope they can improve on in their next iteration. The rotator wheel on the side feels cheap compared to the rest of the leather like headset and could have really used some texturing to make rotation easier. The active noise canceling is noticeable, but in quiet situations sounds a bit too active. Like it is making more noise than the passive seal of the headphones were preventing already. In quiet situations you can hear the headphones sort of come on and off between sounds. Like on the Xbox menu for example, when you change tiles, you can hear more sound than just the noise made by the Xbox. Sound quality is decent, but sounds very mid ranged, even when treble and bass are maxed out. The ‘superhuman’ option makes for higher pitched sounds more clear, but in all the other settings it just doesn’t have a deep or crisp sound to it. Then, just a minor annoyance, but I get the power saving it is intended for, if you are playing on Xbox and turn off the Xbox, it turns off the headset unless you are actively listening to something on the Bluetooth connected device. So, for instance, go to turn off the Xbox and listen to my phone,If I wasn’t already listening to my phone before I turned off the Xbox, I have to turn the headset back on. Also, though not really noticeable in most situations, there is a very minor lag over wireless compared to another wireless headset I have used. The ONLY time I have noticed it is when watching someone talk in a video. I’m talking like a millisecond difference which I haven’t really noticed while gaming. Lastly, I had to restart my Xbox or PC when switching the USB connection over a couple times now. Like, when it is first connected the headset is not detected until a restart of the device is complete.Overall this headset is deserving of their Pro label. The features go well beyond many other headsets and if you want the most connectability, the Xbox version is the way to go. If I could rate half stars on here I would drop half for the minor issues mentioned above. Otherwise, I have had many hours enjoying this headset and will probably have many more to go.

I was very pleasantly surprised how comfortable the headphones were! They never "weighed" me down so I did not have to re-adjust them or take them off to take a break.I highly recommend this set to anyone who is a serious gamer or if you need to use a headset for a prolonged period of times.
