Jarred might honestly be, one of the best if not the best person I have ever and might ever buy from on etsy!! I've bought from him once before this, to mod my 3ds, which was done perfectly, everything i asked for was put on it. The same goes for this, he added every single thing I asked for and more, and even lowered the price just a bit because the tax raised the overall price too much for me too get! Not only that but he was amazing with customer service, he answered just about every question I had and concern, and even told me how to add more to the batocera if or when I wanted too!! Be aware that no one tells you that 85% of the games that you want to play on steam ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE STEAM DECK! I’m only giving a 3 star because I ordered and received the Deck in a day. Really appreciate the fast shipping. But I wanna give the steam deck a 1 star cause it’s just overall that bad. I’m not home on the weekends and I cannot bring my pc tower with me so I was looking for more of a portable option. I am a hardcore destiny player and run a clan and I was hoping this would be what would satisfy my need for needing something cheaper than buying a new rig. Even came with a AU charger, which is greatly appreciated. If you live in a country where The Steam Deck isn't available, Kogan is definitely a legitamite option to buy from. As for the Steam Deck, easily one of the best handhelds I've ever used. Lighter than expected despite its size, and feels well built; not like a toy. So many options for customisation inside the system, and outside with accessories. Be sure to check protondb.com for game compatibility since it uses a Linux based system. Fast delivery/Good condition/Came with different charger than expected

The Steamdeck I received is in good condition and provides a lot of fun. It was delivered to WA in 4 business days using express delivery. Two boxes were shipped: one contained the Steamdeck with a British plug charger, while the other contained a 50w quick-charge Qualcomm charger. I was surprised by this, as the item description did not mention this specific charger scenario. I discovered that the USB-C outlet on the Qualcomm charger works perfectly fine with the Steamdeck, but when I use the other outlet, it causes the deck to display a "Slow charger connected" message. It's not a huge issue, but I now need to buy a long USB-C to USB-C cord to accommodate it.

Means you don't have to uninstall games to fit more in like you would with the 256GB and especially 64GB models as often, let alone upgrading the storage. Which if you're not exactly comfortable with opening up devices to upgrade them like myself, makes the 512GB model pretty nice.Other than that this model of SD is no different from the other models in terms of performance. Despite it's size, it's quite light. It's easy to use, navigate and do whatever you'd like. Lots of things to tinker with (provided you know what to do and look for) if you're into that stuff. The matte screen is a nice thing to have too. The control layout was somewhat awkward for me at first but I grew into it really fast. Lastly, that Samsung charger that MA bundles together with the SD? Works perfectly. If you don't have an adapter for the original SD charger the other one MA gives in for free should do just as well.

Great portable handheld gaming product, though it does take time to get used to. I use mines with a dualsense controller and plugged into an external monitor with a 3rd party dock (but any usb dock should work). Youll need to be techy or research on YouTube about Game compatibilities. Some games dont run at all - take Max Payne 3 for instance as it was a previous purchase a couple years back when I did have an actual gaming PC, kept asking for a Rockstar game launcher. I had to uninstall.. and go to rockstars website and download the launcher and had to use desktop mode and follow tedious instructions. Then I had to purchase through the launcher itself so I bought this twice. Game runs fairly well and good- max resolution tho 720p. I was very excited to see these being sold in NZ and jumped at the chance to grab one without doing my research in full.I ended up disappointed overall so I would note the following before jumping in:- You're paying a premium; this model runs for $630 USD which is approx. $1,000 NZD- Steam deck runs on a Linux hybrid OS that doesn't run all games. COD, Destiny 2, Apex etc all don't run on it.- Even when games are compatible, they often don't run well due to the hardware limitations. The deck is really focused on smaller titles or AAA games that came out <2022. Incredible bit of kit!

I've owned a 256GB Steam Deck for around ten months now. I use it primarily for playing indie games, mostly sticking to games rated as verified or playable by Valve, or checking ProtonDB with games not yet rated. It has played every game I have tried so far with only the one game crash in hundreds of hours of playtime and I'm fairly sure it was the game's fault, not Steam OS or the hardware. I also had lag in one verified game, I've played about eighty different games in total on it so far. This is impressive, given that the vast majority of games run through the Proton compatibility layer, which translates code written for Windows into code that runs on Linux. Things are only likely to get better over time as new versions of Proton and Steam OS are released. The device is very well supported, with frequent updates. In the indie games I play, battery life is generally four to five hours, though I charge when it gets to around 20%. Expect much shorter battery life if new AAA games are what you play on it, sometimes less than two hours. Steam OS seems very polished and the bugs that people reported on launch are mostly fixed now. It is a very intuitive OS and if you want to, you can use the Steam Deck almost like a console, never leaving game mode. There is also a full Linux desktop mode, which is easily accessible, from where you can use the Deck like a regular PC, again Windows users should not take long to get used to it. Although there are devices with higher specs, they all have drawbacks which make me glad I chose the Steam Deck. Competing devices tend to be less reliable, have worse support and be much more expensive. And from what I've read, Windows is not currently a great handheld experience. If you're so inclined, getting an official or third party dock and connecting a mouse and keyboard is a great way to try Linux. Overall I highly recommend the Steam Deck. The battery life could be better, but this is a limitation of current battery technology and battery life is about as good as it gets with handhelds at this time (excluding the Switch, a much less powerful device). I'd say the Steam Deck's main assets are its excellent value (when bought from Valve, I recommend dodging third party sellers here and elsewhere, until official retail release), Steam OS which is a fantastic gaming focused OS and Valve's excellent support for thedevice.

It's a great machine once you get used to it.

For some games that haven't been properly verfied (yellow), there are definite work arounds or it's a very minor issue like; some of the UI doesn't properly fit or scale to the custom resolution of the screen in Grim Dawn for example. Otherwise it works brilliantly.There's also a very densely populated and enthusiastic community out there of Deck owners who have posted detailed guides on how to run just about almost any game you could think of, though there are definite exceptions. Though, this being a handheld PC you can just push up the settings and give yourself a nice portable heater if you wish, at probably no more than 10 fps.It's a great device, god knows why they took so bloody long to release it here but i'm glad they did and I finally have one.

My backlog couldn't be happier

No regrets in this purchase. Once logged in I find I have 70 games with the green steam deck tick, and many more with the yellow. Even then I am still playing games like Jedi Fallen Order that is technically not rated for it, and it is buttery smooth.It is lighter than you would think, and the sound is very impressive to go along with those graphics. The days of handheld gaming consoles always being a generation (or two, looking at you nintendo) behind their full size counterparts are well and truly over.Being able to play a game on my normal gaming PC and then go sit outside on the deck and carry on playing, without having to worry about the wifi signal is an absolute dream
