At first I was skeptical about this because I hear some conflicting opinions about the brand itself, but I have to say that I'm really satisfied with this headset. Now, bear in mind, you will have to play around in the headset's dedicated software to get the full sound experience. Once you adjust everything and turn their Sonar feature on (and choose the right preset for you), the sound really does come alive. The bases are full but not overwhelming, the spatial features are good, the surround is consistent and clear without muddying the quality. You can hear enemy footsteps in FPS games from afar, and the sound is very immersive in story-driven games. Most importantly for me, this is the most comfortable headset I ever owned - there is no pressure on my ears or the top of my head even after many hours of gaming. So, if you're getting these for gaming, then I definitely recommend them. NOTE: the only reason I'm not giving them five stars for everything is because I'm worried about the build quality and how long the plastic is going to last, and because you have to tamper with the settings for a while before you get the sound just right.

You can't go wrong with this headset! Had them for weeks now and they are unbelievably comfortable for hours of use. The ski-band takes the weight of your head and the ear cups don't squeeze against your head to hard. The sound these produce is very good and there is plenty of depth in the lows, mids and highs. The volume control dial for game and chat volume is a nice feature and the cable is plenty long if your setup is on the larger side. The microphone is fantastic and sounds very crisp. The RGB is a nice touch and is easily adjusted in the software. Only thing to note is the white plastic gets dirty easily so be sure to give them a wipe with damp cloth now and again. Overall these are fantastic for the price!

The arctis five works wonderfully. The headband adjusts for a comfortable experience and the earcups are soft. Sound is good for the price and is well balanced. Though it is quite loud, the mic quality is excellent and has very little distortion. The LED on the sides and on the mic are a nice touch to the overall look of the headset and complete it's aesthetic. It would be nice to have a tutorial on how to use the chat/game scroll wheel as it was quite confusing at first. The ear cups also keep your ears warm which is slightly irritating after using it for long periods of time. All in all, awesome headset, I do recommend.

Headset uses the default Windows USB software based audio driver which is lacking in a number of ways, most notably sound output is limited to DVD bit-rate and a 2.0 speaker setup. I I had assumed they were using a specialized hardware driven sound processor located in the little volume dongle, but that is not the case. So you are left wondering what exactly they mean by 7.1 sound, since it is only getting a 2.0 signal. Whats even crazier is the use of 7.1 simulated sound requires an active internet connection. Using just the jack means you miss out on RGB and adjusting levels via a knob, but the headphones can actually flex their muscle a little bit. The mic is echoey and quiet, fine for playing games but you would never be able use it for video recording or calls.
Very comfortable, the head band might give you "headphone hair" but I've worn it for multiple hours with no problems. It does block out noise, so if you're worried about someone breaking into your house then this is not the product for you. I have not tested out the software for this product since I typically find the programs for products like these gimmicky and annoying. However, the sound is quite great. Definitely baddy but much clearer than other headsets I have tried in the past.
The headset is a solid 8.5/10 the build quality of it does feel a bit on the cheaper side but don’t be fooled it is very sturdy, the headset does feel a bit tight on your head after a long time of wearing it. However some of the more positives of it are the sound quality, I can hear everything in game and discord crystal clear, in addition to that you get a very nice volume dongle thingy lol, which allows you to turn up the volume more on the party chat (discord) or the game, I absolutely love this feature because it really lets you customize how loud you want your friends to be and your game. The mic sounds A1 my friends and I have confirmed this as I have tested the mic multiple times you definitely won’t sound like a tornado is in the back when you talk. The ... The white on this headset is also made of a nice plastic mostly so it won’t get dirty easily and it can be cleaned off easily if it does. lastly the RGB is nice and bright, plus it adds FPS jk
Pros: Overall fantastic! Very comfy, aesthetically pleasing, sound good, chatmix is useful and so are the on-board mute and volume buttons. If using this on PC it’s a must to download the Steelseries Engine, this comes in the Steelseries GG software. There you can edit the lighting colours, whether they are independent of each other or synced up. Most importantly the sound can be tweaked to the users liking. The sound can be a bit “muddy” with the DTS turned on but all the other settings allow for a preferred sound. Personally I have different presets for different listening situations such as music, movies and games. I can’t comment much on the retractable mic which sports a built in mute button on the headset as I use an external mic but from what I’ve tested so far it’s definitely suitable for chatting. The chatmix is a feature that lets you control the balance of volume between an open application and a social chat appplication (such as Discord) on the fly. Cons: The headset comes with a removable cable but I’m not sure how reliable it’ll be in the long run. It seats fine so hopefully it will stand the test of time. I had a problem with the Steelseries engine not recognising the headset every time I booted up my PC. This would’ve been a deal breaker if I hadn’t fixed it but there’s forums online to help. I just reinstalled the drivers and reinstalled the software and it worked, bit of a pain but it worked and it’s been fine since.
I was excited to pick these up for PC gaming and pop them open, but I was really underwhelmed by the sound quality for an almost $100 pair of headphones. They're packaged great and they look and feel excellent, but the sound doesn't match the build quality. The three pros: -Lightweight comfort. -Retractable mic with red LED light that indicates "muted" via the on-headset mute button is very useful. -The mute and volume dials on the headset itself (the auxiliary chat/game dial is mildly useful, though I've found myself just leaving it on full-chat and ignoring that dial altogether since Discord has an attenuation option built-in anyway). The cons are: -You can't ever see external RGB LED rings while wearing headsets, so that's kind of a pointless feature in the first ... The cons are: -You can't ever see external RGB LED rings while wearing headsets, so that's kind of a pointless feature in the first place and just increases cost needlessly. It's cool for the bathroom breaks while they're just sitting on the table, but while you wear them... what's the point? -There is virtually zero bass, but that's the tradeoff for weight I guess. -They shouldn't even be listed as 7.1 surround compatible. I've tried switching it on and off and I can't hear any difference whatsoever. Also, in comparing them to my Audio-Technica M40x headset (also $100), it sounds virtually identical as far as stereo sound (no "surround" at all). -The SteelSeries Engine 3 software is intuitive, but unfortunately it does little to nothing to change any of the dynamics. The equalizer doesn't seem to make a shred of difference, and even with Mic Sidetone at "high" it still sounds like you're wearing a beanie under your headphones and can barely hear yourself. -Sound seems weak and somewhat distant. This is my first "gaming" headset, and I expected a lot more for the price tag (still listed as $100 on the shelf, but got them for $85 at price match). I guess the quality of sound I'm looking for means I have to go to the $200+ range. That said, these aren't worth more than $40-50 imo. Get them on sale or used. Don't pay $85+ for them--they're not worth it. The sound quality just isn't there for $90 after taxes.
These are incredibly comfortable. I have a big head (7 7/8 hat size), and there's no discomfort even when I'm wearing my glasses. The sound quality is good from what I can tell. I like the retractable mic that stows away when I'm not using it and the mic mute button and volume controls are easy to use by feel. It comes with a 3.5mm adapter (which isn't mentioned in the description) so it can plug in to console controllers. I thought I'd made a mistake after ordering it then seeing it was USB, but the adapter works great on both PS and Xbox controllers. The only knock on these I can think of is that the cord is a bit long whether using the USB chat mixer or the 3.5mm adapter. Not a big deal, just a minor inconvenience.
After lots of time spent trying to find the right headset for me, I stumbled across this one, from the other reviews this seemed like a great pair of headphones. But it isn't meant for everyone, here are some of the pros and cons of this product Pros : It sounds good, not particularity loud, but not bad, it has a wheel that shows if you want your game to be louder or the chat, like a discord call. The RGB is fantastic, it is smooth yet powerful and it has a wide range of colors to choose trough. The best design out of any headphone on the market, it has a soft plastic outer part and it is matte, it is a simple design that doesn't give you a headache like the other 90% of the models out there. The best design out of any headphone on the market, it has a soft plastic outer part and it is matte, it is a simple design that doesn't give you a headache like the other 90% of the models out there. It is very comfortable, like I said, a lot of the other models look like bricks, and as a result, they feel like one too, the arctis 5 is simple, and feels simple too, a lot of review websites actually rank these quite low on design and comfort because of their simple look. They have nice and large earcuffs, although not the best, they are excellent. Software, that's all I need to say, it has a dedicated app where you can control everything, such as the bass, the colors it shows, etc. The controls are intuitive, the mic slides in and out to make the headset look even cleaner. It has a mute button on the back, and, when pressed, it makes the microphone bright orange, it also has a wheel that controls how loud the speakers are. Great noise-cancelling, I can barely hear any outside noise while I'm using them. Cons : The cable is too large, it makes everything else feel messy, as 3m of cable is enough to make a desk feel cluttered. No bluetooth If you want the RGBs to show, then you have to plug it in via USB, not the headphone jack. the part of the cable that goes in the headphones is unique to this headphone, so replacing it is hard Difficult to setup, don't be surprised if you don't hear sound the first time you try them out. To conclude, these headphones are perfect for me, as no con really affects me that much, and the positives outweigh the negatives, by a lot, but this does not mean they will be perfect for other customers. We bought these in person, which is probably why there are no "official buyer" tag or however it is called.
