Owned the previous version of this headset for 2 years. Replaced it with this one because was happy with the old one and it stopped working. The battery life is better and USB-c is nice, but that’s about the only improvements.Wireless range is now HORRIBLE, sometimes it disconnects less than 3 feet from the dongle. It regularly disconnects 6 feet away. People on discord complain about robotic/transformer sounding voice.Never had an issue with the older version of this headset I could literally walk outside my house to the sidewalk and still have a good connection. This headset is really just complete trash now compared to the competition, which is sad because it used to be great. Steelseries has jacked up the price massively too.

Pros:- Very comfortable even with glasses- Sounds great for a gaming headset- Microphone sounds about as good as you could hope without using a dedicated microphone or a very high-end headset- great battery life and USB-C for chargingCons:- No Bluetooth despite some competition in this range having it- No support for the Xbox. If you are a multiplatform gamer this isn't the headset for you- No way to adjust chat volume separate from game volumeThe Arcis 7P+ is easily the best headset I have tried in this price range. Having come from the Stealth 700 v2 it's pretty amazing how much more comfortable the 7P+ is.I have experienced no bugs with the headset, no software issues, and no pairing problems. The only complaints I have are due to a lack of a couple ... MorePros:- Very comfortable even with glasses- Sounds great for a gaming headset- Microphone sounds about as good as you could hope without using a dedicated microphone or a very high-end headset- great battery life and USB-C for chargingCons:- No Bluetooth despite some competition in this range having it- No support for the Xbox. I read countless reviews online praising both the 7p and 7p+ headphones. Upon buying the 7p+, I was very underwhelmed by the audio quality.I have a pair of wireless Astro A50s (Gen 3) from 2016 and due to the ps5 removing the optical output i was looking for a replacement.Because of this, I decided to try out the 7p+ which is commonly at the top of lists for best headsets for the PS5.Out of the box listening to music honestly sounded bad. I didn't get them for music though, so no big deal.Turned on the PlayStation and wow, they still sounded quite bad. (Once I figured out how to work it, this GG software was FANTASTIC, much more convenient to use than the Astro software. Both get the job done though.)In addition I was prompted to complete a firmware update. After the firmware update the music sounded MUCH better. Unfortunately, gaming did not.I tried USB-C, USB-A, Aux. All sounded very bland on the PS5. I tried 10+ EQs (7p+ preset EQs differ from 7p and online consensus is that the 7p presets are better)I could NOT hear directional audio/footsteps well unless I EQ'd the headphones to the point where it sounded all around awful, but this did help with directional cues. The reason I want a headset is for directional audio but I won't sacrifice sound quality to the point where everything sounds terrible just to hear some footsteps.Disclaimer: I only tested on COD Vanguard, and the audio for the game is certainly the worst in the COD franchise in the 10+ years I've played it.Ironically, I was a little dissatisfied with the reduced quality of my old Astro A50s moving from PS4 to PS5, but after 5+ hours of using the 7p+, when I switched back to the Astros, I was thrilled by how much better they sounded. ($300 headset so they SHOULD sound better)If you take something away from this review, sound is relative. If you are switching from a pair of Apple Earbuds, I think the 7p+ could be a nice upgrade for you with some cool features. If you already have owned a high quality headset in the past and are thinking this will be some miracle 3D audio masterpiece, save your money. The audio is average at best.

I bought this to use for my PS5 and on PC. Overall I am very satisfied with it.Pros: Comfortable, I am very picky about my headphones because too much clamping force is very painful for me. I can wear these with no issue.Awesome battery life with USB-C chargingSound is great and microphone quality is good and clear.Design. Feels premium, with an aluminum band, only weak point seems to be the hinges. The buttons are easy to use and the retractable mic is nice.Cons: No game/chat mix. Not a huge issue on PS5 because it's easy to change on screen, but annoying for PC.No simultaneous bluetooth. PS5 doesn't support bluetooth audio but it would be nice to be able to use Discord on a separate device while playing. This should no longer be an issue soon with Discord ... MoreI bought this to use for my PS5 and on PC. They did include a USB-A to C adapter if needed which is nice.Ultimately I chose this over the Arctis 9 due to the better battery life and USB-C port. PS5 does not support the chatmix features that the 9 offers.
Was very happy with what I bought however several months later into my purchase, the headset stopped wanting to connect. I wanted a headset i could reset manually or through my system setting reset the connection. But i have to plug it into my computer to update the firmware or something like that. That tells me im going to have to deal with constant updates and having to both interrupt my fun and have to drive to your nearest store because theres no easy way to fix this. My computer doesnt run well and honestly is on its way out of my life because the new updates actually impede the computers operating because its not windows 10. Im just tired of constantly updating the second i open something. This operating system needs firmware that doesnt need updating ... MoreWas very happy with what I bought however several months later into my purchase, the headset stopped wanting to connect. Im just tired of constantly updating the second i open something. This operating system needs firmware that doesnt need updating frequently. Im better off with a wired headset and makes me not want to buy another steel series unless its wired. Im too old school to want new school tech that may or may not continue to work years later because of battery life, connectivity, etc.
I purchased these after returning the PS Pulse headset. This headset sounds great and is very comfortable. the mic also sounds good and has a scroll wheel on the right ear to adjust outside noise volume if you need to hear what is going on around you. The only thing I noticed is sometimes there is interference with the 2.4ghz transmitter but this also happened with the pulse headset. (I have alot of 2.4ghz devices in the house). The only other drawback is you have to connect it to a windows pc to adjust the equalizer settings / presets. I returned the Pulse for these because they were so uncomfortable it gave me a headache after 2 hrs. (also the battery life is way better on this headset) Hope that helps if you're looking for a ps5 headset :)
Great headset! Sound is amazing and feels comfortable. However I have one issue and a minor gripe. The issue is that sometimes after turning off the PS5, upon turning it back on, the headset will not connect properly and I cannot hear any sound from it, regardless of the sound being outputted to the headset.I've found two solutions....(1) the headset off, unplug the dongle and plug it back to the PS5 then turn the headset back on.(2) Before turning off the PS5, turn off the headset first, then turn off the PS5 after. You will know when the headset is properly connected when you hear another beep in addition to the turning on sound. If you don't hear that beep, you'll need to do the above. It's really cumbersome and an annoying process as I never had that issue ... MoreGreat headset! Sound is amazing and feels comfortable. If you're not particular about the sound, I'd recommend the PS headset instead for convenience.Lastly, my gripe is the volume controls. It's controlled with a small scroll wheel rather than buttons, but it is easy to turn and is on the back of the left ear, so a lot of times I will accidentally increase/decrease the volume when leaning back on the couch. I wish there was more resistance to the wheel so that it's not easily changed, or at least change the location of the wheel so it would be more difficult for something to interfere with it.
I've been using the Steelseries Arctis 7P+ headset for about month now and I gotta say, it's one of the best I've owned so far. Starting with the fit, the adjustable strap makes it fit very well on the head and over the ears without feeling the need to constantly readjust it. It's comfy specially for long gaming sessions. Then comes the sound. It's very clear and sharp, but not too sharp to the point where it's irritating. Plus it is adjustable through the steelseries app which I'll get to in a bit.Connectivity wise, I had no problems with it whatsoever. I've constantly rotate between pc, ps5 and Nintendo switch and it supports wireless and wired connection. However I wish it also supported Bluetooth.Battery life is great but unfortunately I can't recall the ... MoreI've been using the Steelseries Arctis 7P+ headset for about month now and I gotta say, it's one of the best I've owned so far. However I wish it also supported Bluetooth.Battery life is great but unfortunately I can't recall the exact number on how long it lasted on a single charge. The mic is also very good, clear and had no problems. My friends mentioned more than once how clear my voice was during voice chatting and gaming. The mic is retractable, so it doesn't stick out when it's not needed. It also has a mute button and a sidetone control which allows you to control how much of your own voice and surroundings you can hear.Ending with the steelseries app, it's very easy to use and it offers a wide variety of configurations for different games and genres. You can also manually adjust it to suit your own preference.I highly recommend it, specially if you're planning to use it on different platforms like pc, ps5 and Nintendo switch.
Pretty good Non-Bluetooth headset with extendable telescoping mic that works with a USB-C dongle, Audio over USB-C, USB-A or audio jack. They sound very good but I’m really not a fan of dongles. I wish it worked with all devices though so I learned if you want that compatibility get the Xbox versions. I would still double check like I should have. It does work with the PS5/PS4, PC, and Switch. Other than the compatibility issues these are great headphones that sound good. You can use these with an Xbox Series X by plugging them into the controller. They also light up and the battery life is pretty darn good. I have yet to run out of battery life playing a long gaming session. Check the product’s website thoroughly for this product for compatibility.
Unfortunately, this new version emit a slight buzzing noise from the headphones when at full volume. I own two pairs of the previous 7P model and neither have this issue at full volume. It’s also baffling that SteelSeries are still using the unnecessarily wide and flat USB-C dongle that blocks the other front USB port on PS5. I guess they did that so the dongle would fit better on a Switch? Then why market this primary as a PS5 headset? Their website clearly does this. This dongle design doesn’t work well on PS5 as it blocks the USB-A port on the front of the console. C’mon SteelSeries, I expected this to be resolved with the 2nd gen design.Yes, they do include a comically long USB-A to USB-C cable as the “workaround” but still….just make a proper sized dongle ... MoreUnfortunately, this new version emit a slight buzzing noise from the headphones when at full volume. The workaround of using the very long cable (which you then need to tuck away somewhere) is just poor design.
