I like this headset. But the more I use it, specifically with SteelSeries' GG software, the more I get annoyed. The "Sonar" feature is buggy and overwhelming. It splits your audio into 5 different adjustable channels so you can mix them easier. But I don't need 5 channels, let alone even 2.. Windows has built in audio mixing, so does every app, I don't need layer on layer of volume sliders. The amount of random mysterious bugs I've encountered with audio have all funneled to Sonar being the cause. I had a bug where I disabled Sonar as to not flood my audio output options in Windows, and my headset got stuck at 100% volume. The only way I could lower it was the physical switch. Enabling Sonar would fix the issue, but I didn't want Sonar enabled..You can't remove ... MoreI like this headset. It works well enough, very few bugs there.I can't really recommend this headset because of the pain that is the software.

Have to use the Steel Series App to make these even somewhat decent. I have the original SS headphones and they were great so I got this upgraded version. Regretting it a month into owning them, even after spending tons of time tweaking them in the app. They are loud, however the sound proof-ness? of them are horrible. I can literally hear my dogs nails clinking on the wood floor while gaming. Its very faint, but you can hear it in the background of whatever game you are playing. TV on in the background? You'll most likely hear an echoe from that in your headset, although faint, it's there and definitely noticeable and ruins the immersion. Also, make sure after turning on the power button you also turn the bluetooth button on or else it will sound like you're ... MoreHave to use the Steel Series App to make these even somewhat decent. Once bluetooth is on, it sounds fine, but like I said be prepared for the background noises in your household making their way into your headset. The fact that there's even two seperate buttons is beyond me too, yeah you can use them without the bluetooth on but the quality is horrible without it on.It honestly sucks and I wish I hadn't tried giving these a chance for so long as now I can't return them. Especially for the price, I'm not impressed in the slightest.

Good Sound, Bad Ergonomics.

2 Star's for just how uncomfortable they were. I ended up returning them as a result of it. I have a small head as well so they really shouldn't have been this bad.The circular design for the ear cups don't really fit very well on the ears, they're also rather small and if you had larger ears, you likely wouldn't fit in these. The inside's of the ear cups have this very scratchy material that's extremely thin so you'll have your ear's rubbing against that material and making a really annoying sound if you move at all while gaming, while simultaneously being very Tight and pressing your ears against the hard plastic on the inside. The padding also doesn't give very much distance from the hard plastic, so the pressing against it could be a much larger problem for ... More2 Star's for just how uncomfortable they were. It was actually a little sad to have to give them back just for Ergonomics. If they were shaped better, weren't as tight on the head and had just a LITTLE more padding i'd have kept them.

Great Sound, Not So Great Build
19 December 2023

Allow me to start by saying that out of the four or so headsets I tested, this one by far had the BEST sound quality for the sub-200 dollar price range. My only dislike about it is that it feels like it could break easily within a year of moderate use. Another dislike was that it felt kind of loose on my head. I don't think of myself as having a small (nor large) head, but even on the tightest setting it just barely fit almost snug. I feel like it could have been made to accommodate a head slightly smaller than mine and that would have made it fit much better. I guess it's safe to assume this headset is not meant to be used by children or young adults. I myself am in my mid 30's and have normal proportions. So I guess this is built for people with large heads, big hats or lots of hair lol.Great job on the sound quality, and the connectivity. Make the earcups a bit deeper (I tried Wicked Cushions which helped a little bit) and make the adjustments smaller by maybe 20% and it would be perfect.I may try the Nova Pro Wireless in the future if they go on a significant enough sale to make it enticing enough to shell out a couple hundred for a $350 headset. On sale though, the Nova 7X is a great headset, if you care about having the best HiFi Spatial audio experience.

LAST HEADSET YOU'LL EVER NEED YO BUY

Ive had these headphones for years now and the battery life still is phenomenal, i only have to charge it for a few hours once every few weeks and the sound quality is some of the best ive ever heard, not to mention the software it comes and pairs along with. The customization you can do is amazing. With the software you also get the ability to set up clipping and screen record, so you can capture funny moments in game but also at your choosing of fps and video quality, record gameplay. And the controls on the headset it self, simple yet suuuper useful. You can adjust the volume of the headset itself and on the other side the microphone feed back so you can hear yourself. To know if you're talking to loud or not but to also feel like you dont even have a headset on ... MoreIve had these headphones for years now and the battery life still is phenomenal, i only have to charge it for a few hours once every few weeks and the sound quality is some of the best ive ever heard, not to mention the software it comes and pairs along with. This headset was a replacement for Razor wired phones that had worn out and been damaged (microphone) from being dropped. The Arctis Nova 7P microphone is easy to pull in or out, although as yet I have had no need to use it. That was a feature I liked on my previous set, although as I found out, if you don't put the mic away, it will break if someone drops the set. I didn't go for the Razer equivalent this time as its mic doesn't retract.Having said that, I am more than pleased with the Arctis' performance, once I worked out the blue tooth connection to my PC. The sound quality is great. The fit is a little loose if I bend my head forward, though that is usually because I am listening to a podcast away from the PC while doing some chores. (Yay for cordless!) I love being able to adjust volume on the ear; it switches itself off to conserve energy if I remove it and forget to switch it off; ear cups are soft and the internal blue strap is adjustable to fit over the head comfortably. They have a long enough cord to charge that if you do need to use them whilst charging it is possible to do so.Though expensive, this headset caters to my needs, has the latest tech (Blue tooth, cordless) and is a great replacement for me. I am hopeful that the fabric cover lasts longer than the vinyl did on the Razer set I had previously. It sure feels like an upgrade!

Had to return it, its a real pity and that happens when you read such great confusing reviews in youtube and everywhere but they dont tell you the small letters. The headphone despite being designed for playstation (P) does not provide a CHATMIX dial wheel which for me its indeed mandatory. They provide a sidetone dial wheel which is useless. So whenever you need to lower volume of shouting players ingame, you have to access the fast shortcuts menu of PS5 to set the balance between chat and game volume. Really bad when you are in the middle of a multiplayer game and they want to cook you. Also, despite having the auto switch option to output audio between tv sound and headphone, this doesnt work. When you switch off the headphones, again you have to access the ps5 ... MoreHad to return it, its a real pity and that happens when you read such great confusing reviews in youtube and everywhere but they dont tell you the small letters. The headphone despite being designed for playstation (P) does not provide a CHATMIX dial wheel which for me its indeed mandatory. Really bad when you are in the middle of a multiplayer game and they want to cook you. Also, despite having the auto switch option to output audio between tv sound and headphone, this doesnt work. When you switch off the headphones, again you have to access the ps5 shortcuts menu and switch manually between headphone output or tv output. Not even this can work. The arctis Nova 7X which have a chatmix dial, this function also doesnt work in PS5. That chatmix dial only works fine in Xbox and PC (by running a software) on this headphone model.I can't blame Steelseries for this deal braker, this is due to Sony policies, to restrict to have a working chatmix dial only to their headphones, like pulse 3d and Inzone series. And also the auto-switch function that Sony in purpose restricts via PS5 base software.I hope at least in Europe, Sony gets into the court and gets fined with few billions for this MONOPOLY CHEATING and unfair competition that they are doing. At the end I had to buy the Inzone headphone which is not better at all than this Arctis Nova 7.These headphones , both Arctis Nova 7, 7P and 7X are great, but you will regret if you need to use it in both ps4 and ps5. If you have xbox is the way to go.

Not worth the price

Bought these for my 23 year old. They broke before 90 days. Called for replacement under the warranty and thus began the MULTIPLE emails that required me to submit photos of damaged product for them to review. Each email asked that I submit the previous pictures plus an additional picture from a different angle within so many days of receiving the email. It took almost 1 month of emailing back and forth before they decided the headphones were covered under the warranty. AFTER receiving the replacement I then had to submit pictures of the damaged product being destroyed per their instructions. The new headphones lasted about 4 months before breaking. Did I submit them for a replacement? NOPE because I don’t have time to email pictures back and forth. For what you ... MoreBought these for my 23 year old. They broke before 90 days. Just in case you’re wondering if my son was tearing these of his head to throw them and scream at the screen…the answer is no. He was taking them off using both hands on the ear pieces. One of them broke off the headset and was dangling by the wires (side note: the sound still works but you can’t wear them). This is the same thing that happened to the replacement headset as well. My husband says not to bother with the warranty; just buy another pair - not this brand though. I am giving it 3 stars because the sound and mic (per my son) are really good. Also, the fact the sound still works even though the wires are being stretched by the ear piece dangling.

THE WORST HEADPHONES I'VE EVER BOUGHT
19 August 2024

After looking online for a good gaming headset I decided to purchase these because of the good reviews it had online. What a terrible MISTAKE. Easily one of the worst products I have ever purchased and especially for the price. There are a lot of different features people look for when buying a set of headphones but the most basic expectation is that they will be able to connect to whatever device you are planning on using. These headphones struggle to do that almost everyday. The wireless dongle that plugs into your computer will often turn off for no reason at all and just won't turn back on for HOURS. Not only that when you plug in the headphones the mic won't work almost half the time which is perfect for something marketed as a gaming headset. Truthfully I don't know how there so many good reviews for these because they are pretty much just pure garbage. At least I don't know how else I would describe a pair of wireless headphones that can barely connect wirelessly and don't have a functioning mic. The best part about all this is Best Buy's incredible return policy on headphones that prevents you from getting your money back. Never in my life would I recommend these and I don't think I'll ever shop at Best Buy again either. DO NOT BUY!!
