I am going from my trusty Astro A50s to the Arctis Pro Wireless. I have used Astros for years and just wanted to change things up a bit as I have started having a few connection and build quality issues with the latest Astro A50 iteration. I have kept both headsets connected to my PC and have tried to compare them side by side in games. Here are some thoughts...The Arctis build factor is decent but they did require me to "flex" the metal band to loosen the clamp force. (it worked) Along the same lines, the ear cups on the Arctis are a bit too small and round and therefore slightly touch the outer edges of my medium sized ears. It is irritating but tolerable. In spite of the slightly less then anticipated comfort issues, I have still been choosing the Arctis over ... It is irritating but tolerable. In spite of the slightly less then anticipated comfort issues, I have still been choosing the Arctis over the Astros for several weeks now. Maybe it is the connection consistency, the accurate and punchy, yet slightly tame (compared to the A50s) sound quality, or perhaps it is the dual battery charging system...which is genius, that has me reaching for the Steelseries for a quick COD zombie run. Whatever it is I am leaning toward the Steelseries and my Astros have been "docked" as of late. There is something simple and solid about the Steelseries that have me liking them, but frankly, I am not sure they are fully there on the comfort. So in the end, the Astros are more comfortable, yet have connection issues and charging issues that irritate. The Artcis headset has been a pleasant surprise and they are, at the very least, a good option if you are wondering what else out there will perform in games on a high level for the multiple hundreds of dollars you spend on these fairly high-end cans. Hopefully they will enlarge the ear cups on a next iteration and maybe find a way to improve the low-end audio a bit.

Personally wouldn't recommend. The headphones are great for someone who wants to use a PC and connect to something else with bluetooth at the same time (like listening to music on your phone and listening to game music on your PC at the same time). But honestly after a year and a half of using these headphones, I wouldn't recommend them. The headphones disconnect extremely frequently, the batteries have definitely had to be exchanged more frequently, and my computer (and every other computer I have tried) does not recognize the headphones inside SteelSeries GG. I contacted SteelSeries about this and was given no answers after months of communication. They had no answer as to why these particular headphones would not should up in their software. Without SteelSeries GG, I cannot fix the disconnection issue (it happens because I am not using the mic) and I also cannot fix another issue where the volume randomly dies out then comes back. Another thing is that the headphones have went from 2-5 seconds to take to turn on after they randomly turn off to taking 15-20 seconds.Honestly I'd go with a different brand all together.TLDR: Disconnects frequently, steelseriesGG (software) can't recognize these headphones, volume dies out, battery life decays fast

It ensures that I never run out of juice in the middle of a gaming session. While one battery is in use, the other charges inside the transmitter - an ingenious design decision by SteelSeries. The Arctis Pro might be a bit on the pricey side, but considering the quality and features it offers, I find it to be a justified investment for any avid gamer. It's a powerhouse of a gaming headset, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I used to own an arctis 7 headset and loved it. It was one of the most comfortable headsets that I owned. So when it came to purchasing a new wireless headset, I wanted to give this headset a try.For the price point, it is a bit steep, but the included receiver that let's you change sources on the fly AND it comes with two batteries so that you'll never be caught with a dead headset. The one battery is placed in the headset cover and is real easy to swap. While you're using the battery in the headset, the other is charging in the receiver. So the battery and the dock was what peaked my interest, along with the previous comfort of the arctis 7 headset. Not to mention the dock has bluetooth so you can connect your phone and answer phonecalls from the headset which is really nice as well. So I had high hopes for this headsetUnfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the headset. The batteries were really nice as mentioned before as I never had to worry about my headset having a charge. The dock was nice, but I have a ps5 and a PC and constantly switch between the two and I could not switch between the two without plugging and unplugging the usb cord between the two systems. The PS5 does not have an optical cord and is only USB. I purchased the ASTRO HDMI Adapter, hoping to eliminate the need to plug and unplug the USB in between systems but the Astro HDMI adapter did not work with the arctis dock. And for comfort, this headset was horrible. after like 10 minutes my head started to hurt as there is quite a bit of clamping force on the ears. And there is a very minimal amount of room for the headband to adjust, so adjusting this headset to place on and over my ears was not possible. And the audio out of the box I was not a fan of. It definitely needed some tweaking through the software, and even the EQ presets I was not a fan of. If I am paying this money for a headset, I certainly hope that audio would be to my liking straight out of the box.For over $120 less, I settled for a Logitech Pro X wireless headset and was very happy for the fact that I just saved that much money for a headset that I actually enjoy. Yes Im missing the dock, the battery swap, and the bluetooth capability, but the fact that I simply have another headset that is much more comfortable, has great audio out the box, and great build quality... I really dont care for those features the arctis pro wireless has
This is my first pair of SteelSeries headphones, been wanting to try for a long time based on rave reviews. There is no doubt that the sound quality is excellent. But there are some down sides. First of all, the software is a bit clunky and feels like bloatware. Do I really need all these bells and whistles? Probably not. Most of them are more of a distraction than a help. Is it software, or is it advertising? If you plan on using these with a console as I am, you will not be able to use any software, which is a blessing and a curse. You feel like you are missing out, but are you really? Yes and no. You feel like you are missing out, but are you really? Yes and no. I would not buy another pair of SteelSeries headphones if it means I need this software to make the most of them. There were some conflicts with my pre-existing Creative external sound card when I plugged them into my PC to try for a firmware update (apparently there wasn't one). Reverting back to my Creative device was harder than it should have been (along with some very loud, unpleasant distorted sounds), so I wound up uninstalling all the SteelSeries software.Note that these are not wireless so you will need to use connecting cable. In terms of comfort, these headphones feel hot! Not literally hot, but the ear cups cover your ears thoroughly with a fabric that is the opposite of cool-feeling. Since I am used to the cool feeling of faux leather and live in a hot humid climate, I do not like this fabric. If you live in cool weather or are constantly in A/C, then you probably won't mind the fabric. May even like it.The sound quality is a vast improvement over the Sony Pulse 3D wireless headset they replaced -- richer, fuller, punchier, cleaner. They are also more comfortable if the insulating hotness doesn't bother you.
I will change this review if support can help in someway but atm I'm not very happy. I bought these in December of 2020. I take good care of my headsets, always put them on a headset stand when not in use. And I loved them up until now, use them nearly every day. But they should be built differently not just able to break for over $300. Now I'm also worried because a couple of months ago I bought a pair of Arctis 7X + for my XBOX and now I'm afraid they are just going to do the same thing since they are built the same.
The comfort is good and the overall sound quality and mic is pretty good. That said, i believe it is way overpriced for what you are getting, and the HiFi aspect is a bit of a gimmick considering what these are made for. Some games don't play well with the HiFi 96hz mode enabled (I also have a MOTU M2 audio interface that can run at 192KHZ with my 250 ohm Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros). The problem with Hifi mode in games with the Steel Series DAC mostly has to do with the directional quality as the sound isn't fluid as you pan around. It randomly jumps sometimes instead of panning smoothly when orienting your character in a video game. That isn't the case with HiFi mode off, but there is also an issue the appears when running these in the normal "PC" mode. There is a ... It randomly jumps sometimes instead of panning smoothly when orienting your character in a video game. That isn't the case with HiFi mode off, but there is also an issue the appears when running these in the normal "PC" mode. There is a well known glitch i quickly discovered when running this headset on the default "PC" mode which gives you separate controllable channels (thru the DAC) for both your chat and game audio. They are called "GameDAC Chat" and "GameDAC Game". If you do not put your PC to sleep with the "GameDAC Game" set as the audio solution currently being used "GameDAC Game" will disappear in the audio menu when you wake your PC. You will have to either unplug and re-plugin the DAC, or go into the DAC menu and turn on "HiFi" mode for a second, then turn HIFI mode off. Windows 10 will display the "GameDAC Game" audio selection again.Just Google "GameDAC Game disappearing" and you will see what I am talking about. It is an issue that has been going on since release of this headset, but hasn't been fixed for some reason.
These get a one star rating for a very sime reason. I bought them Nov 2020. The first set broke at the rotation point on the left headphone approx 6 months after buying them. I went theough the RMA process which was not too bad overall and it took about a month to receive a replacement. Another 6 months goes by and the exact same issue occurs but now its both sides. The casing is plastic and the connector is plastic and the design is flawed. When you wear the headphones depending on the size of your head they are going to be pulled at a particular angle which stresses the point that breaks and it's not a question of whether or not they will break it's a question of when they will break. You can look online, which I have, at blog after blog and complaint after complaint regarding the same exact break point in these headphones. Steel series should be ashamed of themselves for selling their Premier headphone with this kind of design flaw and not doing anything about it for as long as they have. As for sound quality and features they're probably the best headphones I've ever owned. If it wasn't for their shoddy construction, they'd get a 5 star review. They've never been dropped or missed handled and I've never left my racing rig they've simply been taken off and put on each day and and it's caused 2 sets of $300 headphones to break in less than 18 months. And in reality it's actually hundreds and thousands of sets of headphones. With the amount of RN a's that steal series must have already done they have to know there's an issue, Yet they still try to sell them with making no adjustments to their design process. It would be something as simple as adjusting the angle that they open at or easily open too so there are no longer stressing that proportion of the headphone not the headphone or maybe spending a few extra cents and making the connections out of metal just a thought for a $300 set of headphones. I'm going to try to RMA them again as I've been using them for the last 6 months after the left side broke and now the right side is finally broken. If I remember I'll post an update as to whether or not they accepted the 2nd RMA in 2 years. I don't know if the original warranty still applies. The problem with even having them replaced again is I know they will break with no excessive use or force just do to their construction so at this point I'd rather have my money back but that's never gonna happen so a new set of headphones hopefully will be sufficient. I got the Pro Wireless because I wanted to splurge. I figured that I played enough video games and listened to enough music that it warranted getting one of the more expensive gaming headsets. And I'm glad I did. This headset is awesome. It's comfortable, has a long battery life, and is a noticeable audio improvement over other headsets I've used. The real game changer for me is being able to mix audio with the amp and Bluetooth. It lets me watch TV and play games at the same time. I use this headset every day and am very satisfied with my purchase. You can get a solid headset for about 100 dollars, but if you play video games every day and are on the fence, I encourage you to treat yourself to a better experience.
