Stokke Tripp Trapp Chair - White

$318.59

(16,133 reviews)

The grow-with-me chair accompanies your child into adulthood. Its intelligent, ergonomically refined design encourages movement, play, and the exploration of independence, without compromising on safety and protection. The Tripp Trapp is adjustable to your child's size. You can be confident that your child will always be at the right height for eating, playing, and engaging in activities, with proper foot support at any age. Thanks to the unique adjustability of the Tripp Trapp, you can ensure that your child's elbows are at table height, their feet are supported, and there is space between the seat and their calves. The thighs should rest so that the knees form an angle of approximately 90 degrees. For babies, there should be a two-finger width of space between the back of the knees and the seat for air circulation. For slightly older children, about ¾ of the thigh should rest on the seat.

The Tripp Trapp is the epitome of a durable high chair. Seriously- you can pass it down through generations. The ease of cleaning puts 95% of other high chairs to shame. It is a wonderful height to pull baby right up to the table with the rest of the family at meal time. This is a high price chair, but if you can, I strongly urge you to get this one.

Cute chair, it matches our dining room. Complaint #1: it’s difficult to get our baby in and out of the chair, whether the tray is on or not. Especially if his knee or knees are bent. I received a Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair with newborn set through the Stellar Product Testing Panel, for use with my baby. I actually already had a Tripp Trapp from my daughter, who is now almost 4 years old. So even as I received this one complementarily, I have paid in full for one previously. Which is to say, please trust I mean it when I say the Tripp Trapp is worth the price. While we already had a Tripp Trapp, this Stellar Panel is our first time with the newborn set, and it came at just the right moment. My son is 4 months old and cleared for light solids. Feeding a young baby is generally a mess--they're sitting on your lap, they're squirming, oatmeal is dripping down their chin and onto the floor. Feeding a young baby is generally a mess--they're sitting on your lap, they're squirming, oatmeal is dripping down their chin and onto the floor. So I've loved that the newborn set makes this process easier. And an easier process with a baby is instantly a more joyous one, as you can focus on the fun part and not on the challenging part. The newborn seat is easy to pop on, is secure once it's on, appears comfy for baby, and looks and feels nice--bringing him right to the table with the rest of the family. From here, I absolutely *know* I will continue using the Tripp Trapp with him. I know this because we still use our first Tripp Trapp with our daughter, these multiple years later. It has served us well, from those early days with the baby seat and food tray (thank goodness it's so easy to remove and clean that tray!), to the milestone-feeling days where you adjust the seat to reflect your growing child's new height. I love that, at almost 4 years old, she has a chair that's a good size for her. A traditional high chair would be too small physically, and would infantilize her. A dining room chair would be too big; a dining room chair with a booster on it wouldn't be sturdy and wouldn't fully feel like hers. So the Tripp Trapp is really purpose-built to grow with your kid, and it shows.

Love this addition to our 4th Tripp Trapp
7 November 2022

This is our fourth Tripp Trapp for our fourth kid, so needless to say we love them! With our older children, we didn't start them in the Tripp Trapp until just after a year old (we switched from a different high chair), so this is our first experience with the newborn set and it's been a great addition. I love that the newborn set has allowed our new baby to sit up at table height with the family; she loves watching her older siblings and being a part of the action vs in a bouncer or other chair on floor level. Being up at the table and part of mealtime is great for her development, but also gives us as parents time to eat since she's much more engaged and content than she otherwise would be. Being up at the table and part of mealtime is great for her development, but also gives us as parents time to eat since she's much more engaged and content than she otherwise would be. I frequently bring it into the kitchen with me while cooking or doing dishes, and the height of it is much easier to navigate around than something low to the ground that would be easier to trip over. The angle adjustment on the seat has been great as she grows and is now able to support her head more than she was as a newborn. The only downside is that it's a little bulky to move around just due to the nature of the chair, but it hasn't ever stopped us from using it. Once she starts solids in a few weeks we'll transition to the high chair, but will probably also use the newborn set at times as well since it's so easy to take on and off the high chair portion. I was a little skeptical of this given the price, but I am absolutely sold on it and it's one of the few things that I wish I had had with my older kids. I've already been recommending the Tripp Trapp itself to everyone I know having kids, but I'll definitely now be recommending the Newborn Set as well. We received this item as part of the Stellar Review Panel in exchange for an honest review.

Natural Oak Tolerance off, seat plate loose
10 November 2023

I've purchased two of these tripp trapp high chairs in natural oak. The first had large circular cut marks on one of the legs and a very rough splintery texture throughout. Oak wood has more of an "open grain" (I have other oak chairs that are textured but smooth); this wood was not useable without getting splinters. Additionally, after assembling the chair, the top metal bar wasn't flush with the chair legs- there was about a quarter inch gap. Finally, after tightening per the manual, the seat plate was loose while the foot plate was tightened as much as possible. That is, the foot plate appears wider than the seat plate resulting in the seat plate remaining loose and the top metal bar having a gap.So I returned the chair for a replacement. The replacement ... MoreI've purchased two of these tripp trapp high chairs in natural oak. That is, the foot plate appears wider than the seat plate resulting in the seat plate remaining loose and the top metal bar having a gap.So I returned the chair for a replacement. The replacement arrived and the wood is much better- finished smooth with no cut marks. However, upon assembly the seat plate is still loose. I've watched multiple videos, assembled the chair multiple times, and I cannot get the seat plate to stop sliding while the foot plate is installed and tightened.Lastly, there's no way to know if the plates are correctly aligned - the manual just says make sure they're straight. Okay, how? Videos say to measure 4 finger widths from the back. Still can't tighten both the foot plate and seat plate. The tolerance on the seat and foot plate seems off. Maybe it's because this one is made from oak while the traditional chairs are made from beech. And the top metal bar is still not flush to the legs- huge gap. I've had better quality furniture from clearance on Wayfair, that at least assembles correctly without gaps.I will be returning for the second time.Huge hassle since crate and barrel requires me to contact them to start the return, then contact them a second time to notify them once the return is picked up to issue a replacement.

Overpriced and disappointing

The chair came in a flat pack, as is the norm. After putting it together, the chair wobbles regardless of the surface it was on. We took it to different rooms, on tile and on carpet, it still wobbled. We spent a lot of time trying to make the wobbling go away, tightening and loosening the screws, followed the instructions to a T and followed the advice on the Stokke page. We now realise from more online reviews that it is a common issue. We wished we knew this earlier. The Absolute Worse Straps
18 June 2024

It started well. The initial assembly was easy and smooth. The first pains came when we needed to adjust the seat and the foot rest. The entire frame had to be loosened up to do that. The plates would not easily slide back and forth. I had to jam them into the right places. The seat and the accessories are made of hard plastic and if you have weak hands and fingers like I do, you better call someone from task rabbit cause you'll need some tough hands there. For me, it was ACTUALLY painful to put it on. Then we had to adjust the straps... They are so hard, and tight, and clunky. They should absolutely be made from a different material. Horrible! Again, my hands and fingers are not the strongest so someone else would do it quicker. But imagine how bad it is if it took ... MoreIt started well. The initial assembly was easy and smooth. Again, my hands and fingers are not the strongest so someone else would do it quicker. But imagine how bad it is if it took two hours and it is still not where it should be. It has been three days since we got it and I still haven't used those god forsaken straps because I can't adjust them to where they need to be :/// (partially because my son wouldn't sit still) So I cannot take my eyes off of him when he is eating because I do not want him to fall out, of course. Honestly, it is bad. I would absolutely change the chair if I had the time and desire to deal with returns, assembly, disassembly, and all that ordeal. And have my son get used new chairs every week. This chair is good enough because it forces my son to hold good posture so my main goal is achieved. Overall, the chair is NOT worth the money. I paid $491 with taxes for the chair and all accessories. Extremely overpriced for the quality. Very disappointed. If you but this chair, consider buying it for an older child who does not need the accessories. They are bad.

The seat has two recline options along with a secure 5 point safety harness. My son absolutely loves being a part of the action and observing all the dinner table fun! We have been using this seat since he was a few days old. The removable toy bar is a huge hit! It keeps him engaged and entertained when the table action isn't quite enough. You can swap out the toy easily for whatever is your babies favorite at the time and it puts it at the perfect place for them to touch and explore it. With this, my husband and I are able to eat our dinner without having to hold the baby. There have also been a few times when we have had friends over with little ones who needed a seat at the table and we are able to quickly and easily remove the newborn set so they can use the chair regular too. With the push of two buttons the seat removes, so easy. The Stokke Tripp Trapp is such a fantastic product, well thought and one of the only baby products that you can literally use for your child's entire life thanks to the Newborn Set! Well worth the investment for this useful and stylish product, you will get your moneys worth! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this high chair.

The most user UN-friendly highchair
19 September 2024

We bought this after reading countless glowing reviews. Not sure what highchair those people got but the Stokke Tripp Trapp is the most user unfriendly product we have used for our 10 month old twins. First, putting together is not easy. And then any time you want to adjust it, you need an allen wrench and at least 10 minutes of precious time. Plus once your babies get big enough to drop the seat too far to allow the infant insert to clip in, it becomes WORTHLESS. You cant use the tray. You can't safely secure the children. This chair is frankly awful and I'm upset we wasted so much money on it. Don't buy it unless you want a highchair that can be used for 9 months max and then collect dust in your house after that.
