I have gone through probably 6 or 7 of these shelves because if you move it even one centimetre it will disintegrate before your eyes (when moving house it's kind of necessary to move it). If that was all I wouldn't give it one star, but it will also break just by standing there doing its ONE job (holding books).A lot of the parts don't fit together, and several shelves have come without the little notches in the wood to sit on the metal pins. You can only really get this bookcase if you are pretty handy and are willing to do repairs and strengthening of the whole case.Great price for a 6 shelf case but sadly bad price for the quality you receive. Also at the time I purchased this there were no reviews to see.

I'm pretty good at assembling stuff and just wanted something fairly inexpensive for spare room. You get what you pay for. Lopsided when put together - and tightened as meant to be - and putting the backing board on is a terrible experience. The thing would not stay in the slots even when held square and tightened as best we could, and so we stood it up to put the backing board in and it slipped out again and it landed on my toe, if it had broken my toe I think I would have sued, it's 37 degrees here today and I was not intending to wear boots for a freakin' bookshelf, and putting something together as simple as this should not have been this crazy. Don't get it. it's just awful. I have no idea what i'm going to do, the backing board barely fits, should have ... MoreI'm pretty good at assembling stuff and just wanted something fairly inexpensive for spare room. Very disappointed. Shelves can’t be adjusted to fit lever arch files on all shelves. The shelf adjustment will only allow one shelf to fit on these files. This was our whole reason to purchase this item and you think would be a standard requirement from a bookcase sold through a so called office equipment specialist.

Good luck
19 February 2022

I read the warning, it fell apart anyway as I shifted it. Timber is very brittle and the join hardware supplied was not enough. Bought some metal corners and bolted the 3 support shelves, now is much better and sturdy and able to move it without worry. Just a little visually disappointed. I still like the colour.

Great little bookcase
15 February 2022

Just finished putting his white one together. Many of the packs of smaller parts had extras. Easy and clear instructions. Went together well. I used some wood glue for extra strength. Very good value for the money..

I absolutely love my bookcase !!! Although it took almost two week for my click and collect as it had to be shipped to the store it was well worth the wait! I'm so in love with it! Such a great product for such a reasonable price. It does chip easily where you screw the screws in but also gets hidden my the shelf that gets placed over it so doesn't really matter to me .Very happy customer

OK
12 January 2022

I'm not sure whether they've improved this product in light of the really bad reviews or if my assembly was OK because I was forewarned. I considered not buying it because of the reviews but it was exactly what I wanted and several other stores didn't have anything in stock due to Covid so I bought one. Because of the previous reviews, I was very careful assembling it and I found that a very gentle approach worked. I even managed to adjust it, which necessitated moving it but it survived. The backing board looks a bit cheap and nasty and the materials are pretty basic but it does the job.

Pathetic quality
18 September 2022

Worst bookshelf ever. When assembled as instructed, basically can't stand up on its own. Nothing fits snugly. Hopeless. I am throwing it out. Complete waste of money. I even put extra nails in and it's still hopeless. Do not recommend

This is trash
27 July 2019

When building this I was like "Cool, this will be easy enough". Even as the backing was kinda broken I still said: "It will be fine". We built it. Cool. Looks good. Then as we were moving the soon to be garbage it broke apart, as if it was made of sawdust. My dad got a brain tumour trying to rebuild the trash bookcase over and over again. When we finally got it into the room, it broke, again. So to you, the reader, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, HEALTH AND MONEY ON THEIS GARBAGE! Please note this before buying this brain damage inducing shelf.

not good
10 September 2017

This item is a practical joke played by bookshelf makers. Imagine their glee, awhile down at the hotel - the swivel secures made of soft metal that don't grip their bobin and fall out, the "wood" ( you CAN make a bookshelf out of sawdust ) that crumbles when you put a screw in it, the backing that does not slide because it isn't wide enough and doesn't line up properly, the joints that don't stay joined, the screws so cheap their heads shear off. Great fun. If, in a moment of false economy you purchased this item, its possible to save this thing and make something of it. With drill, screw gun, some strips of wood and glue, you can reinforce the parts that are friable or not connecting. I have been able to make an honest bookshelf of it.
