Stupid Deaths The Frightfully Funny Game This is the game of dark fun, where players who are dead right win! Many people die in utterly ridiculous ways, and Stupid Deaths challenges players to identify myth versus fact. In this hilarious party game, players work to beat the Grim Reaper before the Grim Reaper beats them. Players start the game with a True and a False Voting Card as well as an Extra Life Token. All the players begin on the Green space, half way around the board from the Red space where the Grim Reaper starts his chase. The first player takes the top Stupid Deaths Cards and reads it aloud, individually all the other players have to decide if the scenario is real or made up and turn over either their True or False Voting card. Each player who has voted correctly moves their player piece one space closer to home and away from the chasing Grim Reaper. For each player who voted incorrectly the player must move the Grim Reaper one space forward towards their own piece! When the Grim Reaper catches up, lands or passes a play piece, that player has been ‘touched by death’ and is out of the game unless they use their Extra Life Token to give them one more chance. It’s a race against Death to be the first player home and reach the Red space!

A pretty good game for quick play and a bit of silly fun. Not sure the mechanics are balanced and fair though. Also a bit frustrating that you don't get to find out what really happened when the story is false.

Have to admit, grabbed this game because of the title and hoped it would all work out... and it did! Many laughs among the group. If you're looking for an in-depth strategy game, this won't be your cup of tea, but this is great for a quick, fun and easy game.

The game is too quickly lost. We had to rework the rules to make it last 25 minutes ( the longest round we were able to achieve ). I thought it would be like dumb ways to die and would be characters from the 19th and 20th century, however many of the characters were from many centuries ago. It wasn’t very amusing, my guests were bored.

Factual and Funny

I read that a reviewer didnt find the game factual and I have to disagree completely. I personally found the game to be factual and morbidly humorous. It was said that Charles VIII couldnt have died on his way to play tennis, because tennis wasn't invented for 400 more years. Jeu de Paume was the game that King Charles VIII was on his way to play when he hit his head. It's the original "tennis" that we know today-Which dates back to 12th/13th century.

I belong to a group that works to increase discussions on what you want during your final days and for your final body disposal and thought it would be great at our conference. Tried out the game this weekend with friends and we had a blast trying to guess if card was from a "real" death or made up. I highly recommend it!

Fun for reading the trivia, but game is boring
23 April 2020

Fun idea for a game, but overall its a little too easy. The materials are also very cheap, we shuffled the cards and most of the cards came away with creases in them. We will probably never play the actual game again, just use the cards for a trivia game night with friends. Would recommend, but only for the cards

Great Fun

Our friends and family love to play this game. The premise of the game is to guess whether the strange and often ironic stories of how people passed in history are true or false. You get to move ahead if you are correct but if not, the Grim Reaper chases you around the board and if he catches you....

We recently played this game at the cabin. We had 4 people playing ranging in ages 14 - 52. We laughed so hard. Also liked that the game was pretty simple and fairly quick to play. We were just looking for something to do to get out of the heat for awhile.

Nothing like TV segment
5 June 2022

This game is nothing like the TV segment from Horrible Histories. It is mostly about Hollywood actors and 100% about Americans from last century. It's not even funny! Avoid.

Happy with the game. Very much has a dark sense of humor, which my gaming group loves. Downside is that there appears to be limited replayability with the same gaming group.
