First I must say I am not too much into natural skincare. I do appreciate when the brand does not destroy the environment but I haven't joined the hype for all organic, all natural products. I do like some glycolic or lactic acid in my routine and I do think they are quite natural too. However, when I find a product that smells lovely and doesn't play up with my combination skin I am very happy. I bought this Sukin cleanser just because I really like the Oil Balancing Face Scrub. I was hoping for the similar scent and the similar results and I got them. I find the packaging very handy and quite interesting. I like the choice of colour ( grey and black which indicates the use of charcoal), I love the pump, makes it easy to dispense the right amount of product onto ... MoreFirst I must say I am not too much into natural skincare. I like the choice of colour ( grey and black which indicates the use of charcoal), I love the pump, makes it easy to dispense the right amount of product onto the hand! \nThe gel itself is rather greyish, thick and sticky and I believe this is the only not so appealing feature of the product because its thick consistency makes it difficult to wash/ rinse off the face. It does take some time to get rid of the product but on the other hand this might be the hack as we are sure our face is squeaky clean afterwards as we spend so much time rinsing it. \nWhat I love about this product is its scent, very similar to the scrub, herbal, I can definitely smell some tea and in my opinion the smell is extremely relaxing and to me even addictive. I was looking forward to the evening and my routine which included Sukin Oil Balancing face gel. \nAs long as the results are concerned I haven't noticed anything spectacular, just a typical face wash that will cleanse your face without irritating. I am sure it does control the production of sebum to some extent but I wouldn't expect miracles. I do like this product for its scent and a handy packaging.\n

I decided to purchase this Sukin cleanser from my local pharmacy as I was experiencing more breakouts and congestion than normal. I have now been using this product for a couple of months and I am so pleased I decided to purchase it!! It is great value for money and comes in a small plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. It is a lightweight, foaming gel cleanser and I find it quite concentrated so only a small pump is all I need and it lathers well, without being too harsh or over drying like so many of the "deep cleaning" and oil-balancing cleansers I have tried. I apply a small amount to damp skin and it creates a soft, gentle lather, it rinses well and leaves skin feeling fresh. This cleanser does a great job removing all residual makeup, dirt, oil and grime, but still leaves my skin feeling soft, refreshed and comfortable. I have struggled with acne and breakouts for many years and after using much more expensive products in the past I am very pleased that I discovered this Sukin cleanser. Not only has it helped balance my skin, I have much less breakouts and acne, without any redness or irritation which you can get from other acne treatment cleansers. I'm not sure if it's due to the charcoal in this cleanser, but I definitely have less blackheads on my T-zone and don't have the congestion that I did before I started using this product. I definitely recommend this cleanser to anyone who has oily, blemished or acne prone skin as it works very well in reducing oil and breakouts, so you really won't be disappointed if you give this cleanser a try!\n\nPros:\nMade from natural ingredients, with very minimal harsh chemicals added\nAustralian made :)\nPump dispenser, makes it easy to dispense the right amount of cleanser\nGreat value for money\nReally helps balance oil and breakouts\nDoes not irritate skin or cause redness\nCreates a gentle lather that does not dry out skin\n\nCons:\nCan leave black stains in the bathroom due to the bamboo charcoal ingredient\nHerbal, slightly medicinal scent \n\n

I love all Sukin products and this one is no different. This is one company that is doing great things for the skincare world all at an affordable price point and I love their ethos of excluding all chemical nasties. \n\nI am mostly a dry to dehydrated skin type particularly in the winter however I thought I'd try this as I had a sample sachet of this when I had purchased other Sukin products and my skin was starting to break out near my temples (mainly hormonal acne). \n\nAlthough I only had a sachet, I love how the full size product comes in a bottle with a pump for easy no mess dispensation. I wish more companies released skincare with pumps! When you have oily skin you want to make sure that whatever skincare products you are using will gently remove any dirt and oil from your face without stripping your skin of moisture as that will cause irritation and dryness, leading to more sebum production and creating a vicious cycle. I have tried lots of products that have caused horrible reactions and made my skin so dry and tight in an effort to get rid of the oil. With this cleanser however, I did not have that problem. I was initially worried about it because I figured that the charcoal would be too harsh for my skin as it can get sensitive at times. I was initially worried about it because I figured that the charcoal would be too harsh for my skin as it can get sensitive at times. However, the charcoal was perfect balanced in the cleanser to get rid of the oil while still leaving my skin smooth and soft. The oil balancing cleanser was just what my skin needed and I think for those who suffer from oily skin balance is very important. You want the appropriate levels of cleansing and hydration to ensure healthy and clear looking skin and Sukin hit the nail on the head. When you first pump the cleanser out, it has a dark black/grey colour which was very interesting. When I mixed it with water it lathered up really nicely and I was very impressed considering it was all natural too. The gel was of a medium consistency making it easy to wash my face without most of the product falling out of my hands and into the drain. The scent wasn't offensive as I had expected it to be because lets face it, charcoal doesn't exactly sound like a great smelling ingredient. With added ingredients of aloe vera, cucumber and chamomile to soothe the skin, it was the perfect combination to effectively cleanse my skin. I have used it both on a bare face and with makeup and both times it did such a great job. It took my makeup off very easily, mascara and eyeliner included. Once I washed the cleanser off, there was no residue and my skin had a nice clean feeling. Overtime I found that the cleanser decreased the amount of oil my skin was producing. It minimised breakouts and it just made my skin look and feel much better. Even if you don't have oily/combination skin I would still recommend this cleanser. Lightweight, natural, Australian made, cruelty free and very affordable! If you're venturing into charcoal based products then I would definitely start with this one!

This is a first cleanser that does no leave my skin tight after cleansing. First ever! I use it every morning dispensing one full pump on the foreo cleansing device (for combo skin, blue), buffing all over the face, neck and chest for about 3 minutes...massaging at the same time. I open the eyes and the formula does not sting at all! Also I go over lips and all over eyes (closed hehe) with the machine. Skin is soooo soft and smooth after. My pores are kept clean this way, using the cleanser with foreo daily. Now do not have whiteheads forming and blackheads in my huge pores. Skin is kept clean and healthy. Love this simple and gentle, yet effective cleanser. Say goodbye to tight skin! And clogged pores!
Charcoal has become a major player in the skincare game as it's full of amazing benefits, especially for those of us who have oily and acne prone skin. It helps draw out impurities while also balancing out the skin so it doesn't leave your face feeling tight. I purchased the Sukin oil balancing gel cleanser from my local chemist as I had run out of my previous cleanser and was looking for something new. As it was towards the beginning of summer I wanted something that was lightweight and would help keep my oily skin under control. The humidity and heat seems to really mess up my skin during these months, making it problematic. It comes in a 125ml pump so it's easy to use and disperses just the right amount of product. The humidity and heat seems to really mess up my skin during these months, making it problematic. It comes in a 125ml pump so it's easy to use and disperses just the right amount of product. If I have a bare face, I just use one pump which is sufficient. If I have makeup and sunscreen on, I like to use two pumps. It's quite a surprise when you dispense the liquid and realise that it's a dark grey/black colour thanks to the charcoal! It has a gentle foam and it has an earthy, herbal scent which isn't too bad. Even though Charcoal is the star of the cleanser, it also contains a whole host of other goodies including pomegranate which is full of antioxidants, Coconut for it's hydration, Chamomile which calms the skin (great for when your skin is red and inflamed from breakouts) and aloe vera which soothes. The cleanser removed all the impurities from my complexion and left it feeling so clean and refreshed. It's just what my skin needs after a hot summers day with all the grime and build up that has accumulated on my face. The oiliness that occurred on a daily basis has decreased immensely, my breakouts have reduced in size and my pores weren't as congested as before. It's gentle enough for everyday and makes me feel like I'm detoxifying my skin. \n\nPros:\n-Removes excess oil without stripping skin of moisture\n-Affordable and can be purchased at most chemists and supermarkets \n-All natural and cruelty free\n-Australian made & owned\n-Gentle enough for everyday \n-Reduces blemishes\n-Decreases congestion\n-Works well for oily, acne prone and normal skin \n\n
I recently experienced some hormonal acne and dreaded whiteheads on my chin and jaw area and decided to purchase a few products in the Sukin Oil Balancing range, based on a great recommendation I received. The cleanser is my favourite in the Oil Balancing range, and I noticed it helped calm and reduce my acne even after a few days. I am very pleasantly surprised with how well this cleanser worked in reducing my acne, as over the years I've tried a lot of Dermatologist developed and recommended products and brands which cost a lot more than this product, yet don't work as well! This cleanser comes in a 125ml plastic pump bottle, and although I thought the packaging is small at first, you don't need much product to create a great lather. The cleanser is runny gel that has a slight black tint due to the added charcoal. It really lathers, cleanses and rinses well without making my skin feel dry or rough, and it definitely helps minimise excess oil and breakouts. I'm not too found of the scent, but I'm pleased that it doesn't contain any harsh exfoliating ingredients or sulphates, but instead contains citrus extracts which seem to be doing the trick. \n\nI highly recommend this cleanser to anyone with oily, blemished skin as it's very effective and affordable.\n
Love this range. Fells great on skin. Doesn’t dry out too much. Follow with same range moisturiser. I have oily t zone and was really struggling to find products that work. I have used Clinique, dermaquest and hundreds in between. This range is great for me now age 46. Leaves skin smooth and properly hydrated.
I have combination skin that has the odd oily phase, so wanted a cheap cleanser to include in my routine for few occasions I need it. My initial reaction to this is how thick the product is. At this price I was expecting it to be really watery. It just takes a tiny bit of water to lather this up on my skin, and it feels like im getting a really good clean. My skin doesn’t feel that tight which does happen with other oily skin products which is impressive considering how clean and balanced my skin feels. Only downside I found is there was a very slight tingling when cleansing, I know some products do this to feel ‘clean’. I’m sure it’s not a reaction, but Im not overly keen on this.Overall I’m really impressed and can see myself using this more than I planned. There are lots of positives about this cleanser - the all natural, quality ingredients, the lack of sulfates and other nasties, the lack of added synthetic fragrance.... Also, so far my sensitive skin hasn't reacted negatively... There is just one thing purchasers should be forewarned about - the scent. On the one hand, I wish more products followed suit & just smelled the way they smelled without added synthetic fragrances. On the other hand, the scent of this product is quite biting. To me, it smells like a combo of old-guy-cheap-cologne & Off! bug spray. If you have scent-sensitivities, you might want to proceed with caution. As for me, I am going to stick with this cleanser and see if my nasal passages will become desensitized to its sharp smell.
