Attention clean girl aesthetic babes! I’ve purchased 3 of the four Dream lip oils, and I friggin love them. l will say that your idea of a lip oil will always vary from one person’s opinion to another’s. Does this stay on for hours? No. Is it thick? No. Is there a lot of product? No. Is the application messy? No, not unless you’re spazzing out and jamming the wand all over while reinserting it into the tube. (The wand is large, so I can see how that could be a problem, though!)What’s amazing about these lip oils are that they are very smooth, and has the just the right/slightest tint of color. Yes, that’s the ONE problem I have. I would say if you want high staying power or more brightness of pigment, you might want to consider using another product.I personally use them when I’m going out and about since they are quite tiny, and I’m not wasting this product to just sit home for no one to see, lolz. But, let me SCREAM if you love the clean beauty look, THIISSSSSS is it. I pair mine with lip liners and the colors combos that they create are GORGEOUS. I will be buying them again. Again, to each their own. If you want a quick, pretty product, one that accentuates your lips but doesn’t scream “Look at mah lips!” these are for you. I’d take a chance on one if I were you, trust me, I didn’t get anything for this review. I spent 75+ bucks to tell you my thoughts- no gain here. I did take off one star off for longevity…I do wish it LASTED longer.

Yes, there's a lot of hype around this product, but it's actually pretty decent. I loved the non-sticky feel, and it did actually seem to hydrate my lips. I ended up sleeping with it on overnight one night, and woke up with very comfortable, smooth lips. Wearing it in the daytime means it does wear off fairly quickly with eating and drinking, due to the non-sticky and thinner feel, so re-application will definitely be necessary throughout the day.The product gives a slight minty/cooling feeling to the lips, but this is very gentle, and there are no plumping benefits. The scent is pleasant, and the taste is sweet/inoffensive. The exaggeratedly-large doe-foot applicator is nice to use.My main disappointment in this product lies in the amount you get for the price ... MoreYes, there's a lot of hype around this product, but it's actually pretty decent. So over hyped. Of course. Because their butter balm is great. But this doesn’t compare. It doesn’t last at all and doesn’t have any moisture type hydration as their balm. Honestly don’t get fomo about this lipgloss. It’s fine. But honestly the butter balm is more hydrating and easier to apply too. The wand applicator is sorta sloppy, my lips feel like I used nothing a few minutes later. With the butter balm I can apply a ton without it looking goopy and then it will last a while and feel much softer. I like low maintenance makeup. But this doesn’t feel special. Don’t buy this for the color. It ain’t gonna last you through 30 minutes. If you want another basic lipgloss that you’ll forget about after a couple weeks then go ahead and get it. If you want an easy to use, rich lip treatment with a tint, get their butter balm.

I really wanted to like this but just couldn't bring myself to
16 February 2024

I had really high hopes for this product, I kept seeing the Summer Fridays lip oil on social media and it looked amazing so I eventually gave in and bought it as when I bought their lip butter balm I loved it. However, I personally found the feeling on my lips to be a really uncomfortable sensation, the texture was almost powdery and just ended up drying my lips. It felt really heavy and considering it was a lip oil I expected it to feel airy and glossy. It also had a muted taste of mint which I wasn't a fan of. Another thing that really bothered me was that after only a few days of having it, it looked half empty which was really disappointing. I do like the wide applicator shape as it allows for an easier application but it picks up an excess of product which is ... MoreI had really high hopes for this product, I kept seeing the Summer Fridays lip oil on social media and it looked amazing so I eventually gave in and bought it as when I bought their lip butter balm I loved it. I think if you are going to get any lip product from Summer Fridays you are much better of buying the lip butter balms as the taste, application, feel, and overall look is far superior.

Unbiased Review of All Shades
18 January 2024

Hello! This review is not incentivized, and I purchased all shades myself on launch day. Here's my review as someone who loves the lip butter balm. I am fair skinned for reference, so my review is speaking from experience with these shades on fair neutral skin. The formula for all shades is high shine and not sticky. It also doesn't feel too thick. This formula feels like it sits on top of the lips rather than nourishing and hydrating them. The consistency of these reminds me of the Tower 28 lipgloss. These are also unscented, which is disappointing coming from Summer Fridays and their lip butter balm smelling so good. However, this is great for those more sensitive to scents.Pink Cloud: This will be my most used shade for everyday wear. It doesn't add too much colour, while still adding shine and a subtle pink hue. It seems to be the most translucent of all shades. I feel like you can also get away with wearing this shade without makeup. The size of these is good as well.Blush Dreams: This is more pigmented than I anticipated. It looks somewhat unflattering on me as it almost looks too light and orange on me at the same time. This would look better on medium to deep skin tones.Soft Mauve: This is a very flattering colour that will go with nearly any lip liner. It is more pigmented than Pink Cloud, but less pigmented than Blush Dreams. I prefer this over Blush Dreams as the undertone is more flattering on my skin tone. I can't get away with wearing this without makeup because it is quite a bit darker than my natural lip colour.Rosewood Nights: This colour is definitely the most universally flattering colour for all skin tones. It gives just the right amount of pigment while not washing me out. This is too dark for every day wear, but nice if you're going for a darker lip. This is the best colour in my opinion for medium-deep skin tones.

Unsatisfactory lip oil experience
10 February 2024

I decided to try this on a whim, as I love lip oils, and am interested in trying some from different brands. This is my first Summer Fridays purchase, and likely my last. I don't like being surprised when it comes to products that I try. In this case, the color was a bit more opaque than expected, but honestly, that's on me since I just assumed that a lip oil would not be as this one turned out to be, because the ones that I've tried are typically sheer with a hint of color. My go-to lip oils are by Dior (my favorite), and secondly, Clarins. Both formulas are very hydrating yet with just enough slip and not greasy, so as to provide comfortable wear. Also they're both more on the sheer side, and can in fact even be layered over a balm, which is my preferred way to wear them at night. As well, I was not pleased with the scent, which was very synthetic, and reminded me of cleaning products. Not exactly the sensory experience one wants when paying this price point for a lip product. Lastly, I was also not pleased with the initial stinging and a burning effect, which is typical with a plumping lip product. Strangely, this attribute is not mentioned at all in the product description, so I obviously did not expect it. If I want to use a plumping lip product, I will single it out for that purpose. I do not want it in a hydrating oil, which I typically would use at night or on days when I'm not wearing little, if any makeup.Overall, I think that in the future, I'll reel in my curiosity with lip oils, and stick with Dior and Clarins, as I know that I won't be wasting money. Very disappointed.(BTW, this is a non-incentivized review. I personally seek those out when deciding if I want to purchase a product.)

Wonderful! Packaging could be improved
25 September 2024

It’s a wonderful lip oil! There is a subtle mint feeling to it that’s just refreshing and a pleasant taste (without being anything specific) and no smell. The lip applicator is so soft! And large so it gives a lovely swipe. The formula is moisturizing, not tacky, not too glossy/shiny, it genuinely makes your lips softer and is so comfortable to wear. I am fair but I have rosewood nights and it’s a beautiful colour. My only issue with this is that the packaging is a LITTLE BIT messy. I’ve had mine for 3-4 months and I’ve had to wipe down the ridge a couple of times - I think that should be improved so the insert is smaller to take off more product off the wand as it’s a shame to waste such wonderful product. After finishing this product I can honestly say I would not buy this again. Don’t get me wrong the formula itself really is a DREAM on the lips it is nice, lightweight and hydrating but for the price point compared to the product actually in the tube it is not justifiable. I did find the colour rosewood nights on me did not last long. At first the bottle application was messy and some product went into the cap which was annoying as that is already product wasted. The bottle was see through after a couple of uses, and yes you can argue that the oz is listed, but truly and honestly how many times does one look at that when buying a product. Moving forward I will definitely be checking the oz of my lip products before buying. I even had to use a cotton swab to get the remaining product out where the wand would not reach. If I received this as a gift I would gladly use it but not my own money.
