Summer Fridays - Super Amino Gel Cleanser - 150ml

Glass bottle is beautiful color and feels heavy, luxurious. Plastic pump, however, is a pain in the neck to get to swivel correctly to allow the pump to pop up for product dispensing. I had to literally bite/tug it since trying both hands was useless without unscrewing the cap altogether. Product feels nice and light, pump releases very little. Felt 3-5 pumps actually made it enough for full face so that’s a lot and you’d go through this quickly. Does not remove makeup despite claims. 80% or more mascara and liner left behind and face felt like I needed a double cleanse for makeup so for $38, it should be made to either legitimately to both or say use an oil before or after to remove makeup & allow this to just be the regular staple cleanser. The ingredients are pretty solid but not high enough in concentration to be of benefit when mixed with water and/or rinsed off. If you apply to dry skin to cleanse/massage then add water to massage/larger/rinse I feel that works better. Pumping into hands then adding water to lather in hands to apply to skin is a no go. Try both ways and see which works for you. I have very dry skin so for me, this was drying than I’d have anticipated or ever wanted. I didn’t change anything in my regimen but add this in - after 4 days, I had dry flakes persistently on my nose. An oilier or combination skin might really love this for the light gel texture, larger and slight purifying factor. With my 18 years experience in cosmetics/skincare, this shouldn’t be marketed to all skins.

I’m not usually a big fan and user of gel cleanser, but this one has really surprised me! The packaging makes it easy yo squeeze out just the right amount for one cleanse. It has a subtle, fresh scent and applies easily all over my face. Most importantly: It cleansed my skin without stripping it and leaves it feeling clean but hydrated. My favourite gel cleanser!

Great Formula, Bad Packaging

The formula is non striping and non irritating on my skin. My skin gets sensitive quickly and gets stripped and irritated by most cleansers. HOWEVER, this formula is clearing and hydrating! My skins feels clean and soft. BUT!! Sqeeze the packaging too much (which is easy to do in this bottle) and it all comes out. You get 4-6 uses out of this because of how fast it comes out. Would be better in a pump bottle. too much product comes out too fast, leading to wasted product for your money.

Great cleanser

Love this cleanser removes grime and dirt effectively. It’s very gentle in a lightweight formula that cleanses and hydrates my skin. Love that it has a blend of 11 amino acids that helps support my skin elasticity. This cleanser is very good and does not irritate my skin. Gives me a lovely radiant glow.

Made my eyes burn :(

First, I just want to say I LOVE the Cloud Dew Moisturizer from SF, so I was hoping the cleanser would work well with it, as well as my skin. My skin actually had no problems with it. I didn’t break out, develop a rash or feel a burn. However, after three days of using it day and night, my eyes started burning all day, like when you walk into a room where cleaning products have been sprayed. (I want to make it clear that this product never went near or on my eyes.) I couldn’t figure it out, because I don’t burn candles or use plug ins, etc. This was the only new thing “around” me. Also, my lips broke out really bad, like a sunburn, not chapped. So I’m going to take this back. My Favourite Face Wash

I’ve been using this for about 3 years now and have never gone back. I definitely pick and choose my Mecca products because sometimes they can be a bit $$$. That being said I have no problem splurging on this! It smells great (very refreshing and subtle), it lasts forever - I will have one bottle for about 5 months (I use it morning and night), it’s made my skin so nice and my skin has never reacted (I have very sensitive skin that is eczema prone and dry and this has always been gentle.

I've used this like 3x and so far, I think it actually helped my skin, I see improvements from using this cleanser. Most Target and Wal-Mart Cleansers I've used just clean my face, they don't do anything else, Which is fine but this cleanses my face AND I see improvements. It smells nice too, a bit much but still nice. The texture is also smooth but some people might not like it. It's a bit pricey but the size is really good for what you pay, unlike other products. Will most likely repurchase 💕

Underwhelming, maybe a bad batch?

I bought this a couple of months ago after reading good reviews, but I’m struggling to use it. I have oily skin that can be sensitive at times and was looking to use this as my second cleanser. The lather was just okay, I found I needed three pumps for days I wear sunscreen and makeup. But this cleanser leaves my skin feeling dry and tight and also didn’t do a great job at removing sunscreen and makeup.It’s packaged in a glass bottle which is really pretty but really inconvenient in the bathroom, I always have to be super careful where when using it and where I place it so it doesn’t break.I also found that this had a really awful smell, it reminded me of cough syrup! I was very impressed with this formula! This product was gifted to me to sample. My ride or die cleanser is the Fresh soy cleanser, so anything new I try HAS to really amaze me. I decided not to read the box for any info & just blind test this product. Used it morning & evening & I must say, I don’t know what it is exactly but the formula is truly amazing. Simple, mild, has a sort of spa, botanical, earthy scent which is light. I typically don’t like any fragrance in my cleansers but this is something I did not mind. Does not strip the skin & a little goes along way which lathers lightly. I also appreciate the eco-friendly packaging. Ok so I’ve been using this cleanser for almost two weeks now. The product states you need to stay away from eye area so right off the bat this is either the 2nd cleanser in a double wash routine or a morning cleanser, since I’m too lazy to do double cleansing after working all day, this became my morning cleanser. The scent is perfect to my nose, light fresh non offensive, def a scent I love putting on my face in the morning. I too like other reviewers at first started squirting four pumps bc one pump doesn’t look like much product, however, I forced myself to use one pump after two days and it was more than sufficient for my wet face. It spread perfectly with water and I didn’t feel it wasn’t enough by any stretch of the imagination. I typically loathe the texture of gel cleanser as they’re usually thickets and hard to spread and some what sticky, this one is none of those things. It’s a thin easily spreadable gel that doesn’t feel sticky like gel. It did not dry out my skin or leave me red, but I didn’t see any visible results that made me feel good about spending $38 on a cleanser. I love the idea of all the ingredients and anything “marine” for skin care, but I want to SEE and FEEL results. My skin just looked normal, it’s def nothing special so far. Quite frankly, if any of you are looking for a cleanser that actually produces real time results you can see and feel immediately I highly highly recommend the dermalogica daily microfoliant, it is stunning (yet expensive) but I just love the sheen and smoothness my skin has after using it. If the summer fridays one was in the $15-$22 range I’d consider purchasing again but for the cost and minimal visible benefits I’d have to pass on repurchasing.
