Sun Bum - Original SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion - 237ml

I have been using this sunscreen for a few weeks now vs. the usual store name sunscreen brand. Was there a difference? Yes! 🌟 Scent: The scent wasn't too strong. I personally am not a fan of strong sunscreen scents that would conceal the smell of my perfumes and lotions. But the scent doesn't stay and it's a perfect combo for vanilla scents. Texture: I can admit, the texture is pretty off every time I squeeze some out. It almost looks clumpy? Even after shaking it. Best sunscreen

I live in high altitude Colorado close to mountains and over 300 days of sunshine per year. I had been looking for a sunscreen that has high SPF without all those harsh chemicals and tried over 10 different brands and am so pleased that the search is finally over. This sunscreen is perfect even for my highly sensitive skin. It blends well without leaving any white cast even in water. It is unscented and doesn’t cause me break out. I got one for the face specific before, and later found this one can be used on both face and body and comes in bigger bottle which is better. The SPF level is great. The only thing is don’t apply it too close to your eyelids as it burns when gets in the eyes. Highly recommended!

Do not use!

Terrible. Sold asA natural sunscreen and fullOf terrible chemicals that cause chemical burns to the face and neck. MyDaughter looked like a jellyFish. We ended up in the ER with photochemical burns and major allergic reaction during our vacation! She was so swollen her face and eyes turned black and blue! This stuff should be illegal.

This sunscreen is AMAZING! I've tried 2 Neutrogena sunscreens, CeraVe's sunscreen, and the generic Sun Boat and Walmart brand sunscreens. All those brands are super oily, burn my eyes/skin, make my skin feel gross and just aren't pleasant. The only downside is how small the bottles are. I got the biggest one and it will only last me maybe 3 months in the summer time, and its $20. I just started using SunBums and it's FANTASTIC! (And here's some reasons as to why)#1.) I have bangs, usually when I wear sunscreen my bangs get plastered to my forehead due to the oil-yness of the sunscreen, but SunBums sunscreen doesn't make my skin oily and my bangs are free moving and flowers!#2.) It smells SO GOOD! It smells like Bananas, not like generic sunscreen, but just plain ol yummy Bananas!#4.) I have worn this all day and applied a couple times during the day, after wearing it for 2 days straight I have 0 acne from it! Usually after a day of wearing sunscreen I get like 4-12 pimples!#5.) It's super light on your face. Like i said before, it absorbs into your skin pretty quickly and it isn't too heavy. It's almost like a thicker CeraVe facial moisturizer feel & absorption wise.Some people have left a review saying that when their sunscreen came in it had a super close expiration date, my bottle had an expiration date set for October of 2024, I got it April of 2023. So that's plenty of time for me to get through this whole bottle, as I use sunscreen daily all throughout the year!

Great performance, even if there's no PA rating!

I did a sunscreen test comparing this Sun Bum spf 70 to several other sunscreens using sunblock reminder stickers. You can see in the pictures, it's the one all the way on the right. I did a 30 minute gym exercise and some chores trying not to touch the stickers during the summer evening, and you can see 1.5 hrs after application, the Sun Bum performed much better than the majority, as shown by the sticker starting barely having a purple tint in the last pic. The other contenders that seemed to be able to compete were SunCut's UV Pefect Essence and Kahi's Aqua Balm. If you care about PA Sunblock ratings like I do but don't want something expensive, maybe go with Suncut's sunblock. I use other SPF products depending on the activity or weather but Sun Bum lotion is one I reach for very often. I bought the same duo in SPF 50 this round and I'm so glad I did! I live in one of the hottest and driest cities in the world and while the SPF 30 did very well, this was the smarter choice. It takes being the sun for long hours for my skin to burn or get irritated but living where I live, and the sun being the leading cause of aging and skin cancer, I wear it head to toe everyday. It's just as quick absorbing and lightweight as the SPF 30. These lotions are so comfortable to wear and provide excellent protection from the sun while moisturizing your skin! I love the way it smells too! I find the coconana fragrance balances out the sunscreen smell well and two years later, I'm still sniffing my arms just to enjoy the fragrance! I can't recommend these enough to those who struggle to find body sunscreens that aren't heavy and sticky, don't smell unpleasant or won't irritate the skin. If your skin has little issue with fragrance and avobenzone, these are miracle lotions. Also, the lotions absorb down just as smooth and lightweight as rubbing in the spray version, if not better. Both lotion and spray formulas reapply nicely and interchangeably without feeling like you have a thick film on your body. This, the Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector Lotion and Coola spf body sprays are my favorites for body. However, this one is the cheapest and possibly my favorite of all my staples for sun protection.

Reef Friendly and Easy to Apply

I have been a convert to mineral sunscreen, and have mostly used Thinksport and Thinkbaby. Both formulations are thicker, but have worked perfectly for my children with ultra sensitive, hives prone skin. This time around, wanted to have some reef friendly sunscreen for myself, with a more medium consistently, and hopefully smells good.I recall Sun Bum having a nice scent, so grabbed this bottle. The reviews here are true. Most importantly, Great sun protection. The ONLY sunscreen I use

This is the only sunscreen I’ve used that actually works. Aerosols always make me greasy and actually intensify the sunburn I get. Other brands of lotions stop working after ten minutes for me. This one lasts very well and I can go way longer in between reapplication. It smells so good and it rubs in really easily. It is slightly greasy feeling but definitely not heavy feeling. If you also have trouble finding reliable sunscreen, I strongly suggest you give this one a try.

This product caused a horrific reaction that lasted for over five hours while I was on patrol over Memorial Day Weekend, 2024. I’ve already contacted SunBum, informed them of what happened. I was told my their “medical investigator” that the product I used had expired in April 2024, I used it in May 2024. So, you mean to tell me that one month expired this stuff turns to lava!? I’m active duty military, I’ve been pepper sprayed and exposed to tear gas for my job, this was right below those on my list of miserable chemicals encountered. SunBum barely offered an apology. I’ll add them to the list of companies with pathetic customer service and won’t stand behind their product. would only recommend for the beach

i was looking for daily sunscreen lotion and got this one but the spf 70; the smell resembles artificial banana, and the feel is very greasy but ends dry yet on the face feels very heavy and greasy at all times. i will only use it now on my body and if I'm outside but for daily use at work and home and on my face this is a 100 percent NO-GO. even if offered for free, i would not accept this again simply cause of the smell. leave no cast when properly rubbed in. leave the skin glittery. good and bad. take what ya want from it. again, highly recommend for the beach but again that smell is BAD. artificial banana does not smell good on humans.
