After 3 uses was stuck at the on position has to turn off at PowerPoint. It also began to get hot after cutting bread. Sunbeam was not available at Shop to exchange so changed for Kambrook. Kambrook cheaper and blade slightly shorter but wasn't a problem when cutting bread. Kambrook did better job on bread.

I needed to replace an electric knife which broke down while I was in the middle of cutting roast pork. Happy with the procurement & price of this knife. It gives meat a professional cut. However, like all electric knives I have tried, they are for home use only. Not sufficiently heavy duty. To stretch lifespan, need to rest to cool them down, each time they heat up.

Purchased the above knife a couple of weeks back. I was totally disappointed with the product. Found the hand piece very heavy and it became extremely over heated on use. Found the blades on the knife pieces almost blunt and made the meats crumble like breadcrumbs. As the handset became hotter and hotter felt afraid to use it so sent it back to the supplier for a refund after only two uses. So would not purchase a sunbeam EK6000 again. However in the past I have used Sunbeam products and found them very good. But felt the knife definitely did not do the job so totally disappointed with it over Christmas. The store I purchased it from Folders/Katia were more than helpful in allowing me to return the knife for a full refund

Useless, not like Sunbeam electric knife used many years ago. First use, slicing meat on Christmas day (roast pork). The Sunbeam Carveasy EK6000 struggled and it was discarded and used ordinary knife instead. 2 weeks later used to slice some ham from a boneless leg. The Sunbeam Carveasy EK6000 struggled again and even with minimal pressure on knife unit unable to cut through the meat. On cutting second slice unit stopped abruptly. I thought it must have a thermal cut-off so I left the unit and unplugged it. After about an hours rest the unit was able to start again. The Carveasy may be suitable for pavlova but is not able to cut through meat. I have tested it on bread.
Bought this on Wednesday and returned it for refund Friday. Used it twice on Thursday only cut bread for a few seconds at a time. On Friday it wouldn't cut a slice at all! Wouldn't recommend one of these knives to anyone. Our 22 year old bread knife is sharper!! We will invest in high quality bread knife instead, probably will be cheaper too.
We purchased to assist in cutting home baked and shop bought bread. Definitely unsuitable for bread cutting. Required loads of pressure to cut into loaf in turn virtually crushing them. Resulted in a poor quality and slow cut. Much easier and quicker using an old fashioned bread knife. Will be returning.
Pros: Possibly the only things I like about this product is the push button to release blades and the 2 different blade options.Cons: Vibrates terribly when carving meats, to the point it starts to hurt your hand and in particular wrist. I have to swap hands and attempt to use non dominant hand, until hubby comes to the rescue.Does not glide through meat very well, you actually have to put quiet a bit of pressure on the knife for it to work. I previously had a Sunbeam knife that was extremely old, was fantastic to use with no concerns at all. Sadly it broke causing safety concerns so was thrown in the bin. This new one is of no comparison! Regretful purchase, and I did read reviews on all that were for sale in larger stores, big mistake for concentrating on the ... MorePros: Possibly the only things I like about this product is the push button to release blades and the 2 different blade options.Cons: Vibrates terribly when carving meats, to the point it starts to hurt your hand and in particular wrist. We bought this 2 days ago to replace an approximately 15 year old sunbeam electric knife which wouldn't eject the blades. So dissappointed in the performance of this new knife. It is so noticeably underpowered and doesn't cut as easily as the old one. This knife will be consigned to the back of the bottom cupboard and we will persevere with the old knife. Will not recommend.
Much easier to hold for a long time (eg. carving a roast) than my previous Sunbeam knife - better shape. Motor air vent is located away from food backsplash when carving - this is an improvement which makes cleaning easier. Good to get 2 sets of blades (bead and meat) - better value.
Not fit for purpose. Bought to slice bread - It needs so much downward pressure to slice through the bread (comes with a bread blade) that is impossible to cut an even slice. Awkward to hold and opera - the much cheaper Kambrook knife slices bread with ease.
