The even heat distribution is incredible. Takes half the time to cook up large amounts as compared to using large pot on my cooktop. The stainless steel is safe to use. Very easy to clean. I wish I got myself one years ago.

The fact that this fry pan is stainless steel is a huge advantage. I had many different fry pans in the past that promised everything, but their “protective” coating was peeling off after a few scratches. Food just sticks to frypans on spots above elements, so you do need to scrape it on every fry pan. Stainless steel is the best because it doesn’t scratch! This one goes fully in the dishwasher too and comes out clean. Great!

We have used the Ellise frypan for years, this is our 3rd one. I like how there's no non stick coating to wear away and eventually get into your food. This model is slightly different, and is much harder to clean then the previous one, you do really have to scrub it as the pan keeps getting that brown "seasoned" finish on it. that's the only reason its got a 4, not a 5, it cooks great. Its also heavier, especially the glass lid, which is actually a bit of a pain, it doesn't need to be so heavy in my opinion. I kept the glass lid off the old one and am using that instead as it fits perfectly, the new one is in the cupboard in case the old one gets broken.

Improvement on the older models
26 July 2022

Not my first frypan of this type, and most of the components have improved over the years. Much better temperature control than the older model. The pan feet and lid handle also look more durable. Not a fan of the larger pan handles, but perhaps they have some as-yet-undiscovered benefits.

Good deep frypan. Heated up quickly. Easy to clean (but I suppose that depends on your cooking)After reading reviews on other finishes and brands decided to go with the clean stainless steel one. I don't like non-stick pans, so they were never an option. The first time used we cooked snitzel and everyone was happy with the result.

Pros/cons
15 February 2023

While the actual cooking part of this frypan is OK, there is too much that is an issue to recommend. The thermostat cycles on/off which is frustrating particularly when cooking something where the temperature needs to be constant. It is heavy, the lid particularly so. Also, the size of the pan makes it difficult to handwash, it doesn't fit in my kitchen sink and I need to carry it to the laundry sink to wash.

Regret buying
3 October 2021

I can't remember ever being SO disappointed with a kitchen appliance purchase. Firstly, this frypan is HUGE, the handles stick out so far this frypan doesn't fit in the kitchen sink and I have to wash it in the laundry. I wanted the stainless steel skillet, but unfortunately it is no longer available. I didn't want another non stick frypan, so after alot of research and very limited choice in stainless steel I reluctantly chose this one. I read the manual, washed "before first the use" page 10 (when I discovered it didn't fit in kitchen sink), then "seasoned" the pan also page 10. I followed the directions on page 9 and pre heated on 12-13, (which severely burned the oil from "seasoning" the pan) and then "changed to desired setting" of 7. Despite using a no scratch ... MoreI can't remember ever being SO disappointed with a kitchen appliance purchase. Despite using a no scratch scourer I cannot clean the burned oil off! After one use the bottom of the pan was stained brown! I have cooked in this pan only twice, between not being able to clean it properly and being so large it has to be washed in the laundry, it is a massive disappointment!

Smooth, durable and efficient
28 December 2021

Really nice size and feel. Good heat distribution, edges slightly cooler but that is normal for an electric frypan. A little heavier than I expected but sturdy and smooth appearance, handles are comfortable. As with any stainless steel, sugary items will caramelise and can stick (like bacon) but cleans beautifully after a 5 minute soak. Meats, eggs etc don't stick at all. Sears meat nicely, and can hold high heat for a long time unlike other pans which seem to have a weaker upper limit and switch off, but can cook on a steady lower heat nicely when needed too.

Sunbeam Ellie’s Electric Frypan
16 November 2019

Very different from a non stick frypan. It’s heavier, takes a bit longer to heat up, and even though I followed the instructions for seasoning it when it was first used, I find that certain foods do stick, unless the heat is up really high. Benefits from that are the better flavour, and the caramelised juices that come from the food being cooked. I still don’t like the fact that it cycles once it reaches the desired temperature. I would prefer it just to stay at that temperature, until I turn it down myself. Very simple to clean. Just let it cool down, and add warm water, leave for half an hour, and then anything that has stuck will come straight off.

Heavy Stainless Fairly Expensive Frypan. Quite noisy compared to my old Breville Frypan but getting used to it, now. Good Thermostat...for these first few weeks. (Saying that because we went through 3 Thermostats in 2 years with the old frypan.) Still having trouble with food sticking to the Stainless...but was used to Teflon, prior to this frypan. Overall, pleased.
