The 5.5 L Sunbeam Electronic Slow Cooker failed less than 2 years old. You can switch it on, but it turns off immediately. I appreciate that it didn't burn the house down. We loved it prior to it dying. The recipe book is great, but not $69.95 worth. We have made may enjoyable meals but it has not had heavy usage. In summary, it was great while it lasted. Sadly, it is off to the tip now.

I bought this so I could leave home and have dinner ready after work. The problem is it still heats even when not turned on - i have to turn it off at the wall. Defeats the purpose of having say a nice stew when it it is dry from over cooking

I purchased this product about 3 1/2 years and it worked fine until recently. Now, it takes about 6-10 attempts to set the time and cooking temperature as it turns itself off before the program is accepted. Once it does start cooking, it does go for the programmed time, but does not reliably change to keep warm mode. Sometimes the unit will switch off at the end of the cooking time. I am increasingly frustrated when using this, and when I do replace it, I will not be purchasing another Sunbeam product.

I this is the second sunbeam slow cooker to fail after about 6 months of occasional use. Pressing buttons after power up turns it off. Can't turn it on. Have they programmed the controller to stop working after a while? Unfortunate because everything else about it is great. See other reviews. Looks like a common problem. I've taken it apart and there isn't anything obviously wrong. It appears to be well built otherwise. Now it is in the bin like the other one. Will have to look at another brand unless sunbeam can guarantee electrical durability has been rectified.
We love this slow cooker, we already have one and have just purchased one for my parents for christmas. We have used other slow cookers over the years but have found this one the best and easiest to use. The digital control makes it great to adjust cooking times to our preference, it's a great size and shape to fit all cuts of meat/ roasts in and fits plenty for our family of 4. I love that i can set it any time of day and it switches over to warm for a further 6 hours so I don't have to worry about being home for a certain time. It is dishwasher safe as well so makes clean up easy. Overall I highly reccomend.
I bought this from Harvey Norman about two weeks ago. They had a 10% sale off, so i thought it was just a bonus that I was also looking for a pot at that time. I wanted a pot with a timer function, and this was affordable, and just great to work with. It helps to keep track of how much cooking time has passed and how much more time to allocate for the cooking process. I also like that it is not so much analogue, but because it is "digitalised" the pot could divert the cooking from Hot straight to Automatic once the cooking is done without the food being overcooked.
I have had my slow cooker for over 12 months and love it. I will never cook Roast Lamb in the oven again. I even use it to make my bolognese sauce for Lasagna/Spaghetti and slow cook it for 8 hours. I love the auto warm function after 8 hours and keeps my food warm for up to 5 hours. It has made my worklife/homelife so much easier.
My slow cooker is just outside the 1 year warranty period and now it barley last one hour before it beeps and turns itself off. I would look to buy a different brand next time as this just hasn't lasted.
So happy with my slow cooker. The digital timing clock works so well with either the high or low function, followed by the keep heat function. Everything was cooked to perfection. So easy to use and operate.
Bringing back a little "crock pot" cookin into our family home - time poor & busy lives... cooking dinners & soups are back on the menu at our house with our new slow cooker. Real easy to use, with a nice large ceramic pot, that feeds our family of 4 easily! Some great recipes in the box plus some of own specials have already made it a hit! Can't wait for winter time soups & stews!!!
