The other stickers remind you to remove the red cap from the water reservoir and tell you about the awesome single tap / double tap grind function, but more on that later. The controls and digital display are simple yet modern and sleek. There are buttons for single, double and manual shot. Grind coarseness setting is indicated and there is a counter which shows your pour time in seconds. The machine is very quick and easy to set up, you just attach the beans hopper and set your coarseness level, fill the water reservoir and prime by running hot water through the group head a few times. Then you’re all set and ready to be a Barista Mister or Sister!I really love the built in grinder. My previous machine had a separate grinder which not only took up additional bench space but also created a lot of mess. Any stray grounds here end up in the waste tray not on the kitchen bench, which pleases my wife who is not a coffee drinker. The coarseness level is set by turning the hopper, setting 15 was recommended in the instruction video as a starting point and that seems to be about right for the beans I am using. The grinder has a cool feature they call Tap & Go, which gives a measured dose of ground coffee – you tap once for a single shot or twice for a double shot. The measured amount was spot on.I was able to get a decent shot on my very first attempt, even if the extraction was a little longer than the 20-30 seconds recommended in the instruction video. But after a couple of days of use and tweaking my tamp pressure I have been able to produce shots of excellent texture, with a lovely crema on top. Great flavour and zero bitterness, consistent from one cup to the next. The steam wand works as it should, producing a nice velvety foam. And a great feature not often found in machines with built in grinders is the dual thermoblock: this allows you to brew espresso and steam milk simultaneously. Handy when you’re trying to wrangle kids / herd cats in the morning.Overall I would definitely recommend the Sunbeam Origins Espresso Machine, it has both form and function at a reasonable price point.

I upgraded from the Sunbeam Barista Max to this one and all the features plus the design are well worth it..and incredible value. It looks professional in my kitchen and love the black control panel, brings sophistication. The auto grinder is easy to use. And GRINDER IS SO MUCH QUIETER!!! It also isn’t messy at all, all the grinds end up in the basket without any spraying over the counter. This was a real delight. Great extractions and absolutely love that I can front the milk at the same time as extracting the coffee. When I have three minutes to make a coffee before my next meeting, this feature is a game changer.

I get a little anxious sometimes while using a new pack of beans as I don’t like to waste my expensive coffees on free runs and shot tests, I must say the single espresso shot feature sometimes gives a little inconsistent results with the espresso for example, it can be very drippy and extraction taking way longer time than usual sometimes. So, it could be a little better but it isn’t bad, it is just that it takes a little time for us and the machine to understand the right settings like the grind size and right about of coffee in tha basket with right about of pressure while tampingThe inbuilt grinder is a time saver, and I appreciate the flexibility it offers with its adjustable settings. Customizing my coffee experience with programmable buttons and temperature control has been a joy. The 58mm commercial size handle gives you way more flexibility with using third party and after market coffee accessories and the provided handle is of excellent quality and very sturdy. What struck me the most is the machine's efficiency and reliability. It's impressively consistent, delivering a rich and dark espresso with a velvety crema. I mostly use the double shot automatic feature with the larger double shot unpressurised basket when I’m in a hurry in the mornings and it never disappoints. The ability to reset the burrs and magnetic tamper placement are thoughtful features as well.If you're in the market for a home espresso machine, you should definitely check out Sunbeam Origins, this one's definitely worth considering. Couldn’t be happier
3 November 2023

This Origins Espresso is an insanely good home coffee machine. With auto-dosing and timed extraction, it’s so easy to use. And so quick when making coffee for friends: grinding, extracting, and texturing milk all at the same time. The coffee tastes so good that a café coffee has to be good to match it. We’ve found our favourite bean, one that needs a finer grind to yield the 20-30 second extraction. We’ve learned how to texture milk from James Hoffman (Youtube), so we’ve making macchiato, latte, flat white, mocha, and affogato, as well as espresso and long black.Logically laid out, and a breeze to keep clean. Couldn’t be happier.

1st model only lasted 5 coffees then steam wand broke. I returned immediately to Myer who in fairness were awesome. The replacement machine is incredible I’m super impressed with it. I can now bang out cappuccinos better than most of my local cafes!! Mecca beans 👌 Simple to use and great design. The only negative was milk jug is low quality and doesn’t make quality steamed milk. I replaced with Rhino coffee gear jug which made a huge difference. Would recommend machine 👊

Fantastic all rounder!

This really is a fantastic machine. I took advantage of the sale and got it for $720 which was a bargain for the features and the stylish design. It's a stunning looking machine. I was sceptical of the dual thermoblock claims of being able to froth milk while pouring coffee at the same time but it really works. The grinder is super quiet! And the group head is nice quality, all metal (no plastic on the inside like some of the cheaper machines) and 58mm size like a commercial one which makes it much easier to avoid spilling grind and easier to tamp. The grind size is simple to adjust by rotating the bean hopper. The water tank is nice and big, and there's a handy little storage spot if you slide out the drip tray where you can store a spare basket when you're not ... MoreThis really is a fantastic machine. Very, very happy with my choice. Oh and it extracts cafe quality coffee, and the steam wand is also cafe quality.

I’ve owned, and had good experiences with two Sunbeam espresso machines in the past, but this is my first combined grinder/espresso machine - so wasn’t sure how it would stack up vs dedicated grinder, and machine. Unpacking this machine - it’s a definite evolution from previous Sunbeam machines. Slick/sharp design. Mix of solid metals, gloss black front LED panel, and solid, tactile switches, buttons and steam dial. It’s big enough for some good visual impact on the kitchen bench, but a definite space saver with the all in one approach.Initial setup is pretty simple, just attach and fill the hopper, rinse and fill the water reservoir (good size if you don’t like refilling regularly) - but don’t forget to drop in the supplied filter cartridge - nice touch.Switch ... MoreI’ve owned, and had good experiences with two Sunbeam espresso machines in the past, but this is my first combined grinder/espresso machine - so wasn’t sure how it would stack up vs dedicated grinder, and machine. It’s a thermoblock, so fast start is a given - but this is quick, ready to go almost before you can grab your favourite cup. There’s a bit of fine tuning of the grinder - but it’s effectively stepless so you can get the perfect grind after playing around with a few shots. The anti static i thought could be a bit of a gimmick, but is actually pretty neat! A few stray grounds but nothing compared to my other grinder which fires coffee grounds all over our white bench top. Tick.To the shot - as usual, you’ll need to sacrifice a few initially to get your perfect dose/tamp/shot time combo. While a 30s shot might be your target on a more commercial machine - I’ve found that a 45/50s shot was getting me to a good place in terms of volume, crema and importantly - taste. The shot timer makes things pretty easy, and then you can program the volumes - it’s pretty good out of the box, but definitely rewards you if you like to tinker! The grouphead is a 58mm commercial size, so a good solid dose - only minor gripe is the handle feels light vs the solid build of the machine - however the engagement is great, and performance can’t be faulted - so no complaints here. It’s pretty quiet for a (dual) thermoblock - they’ve come a long way, and you get the BIG speed benefit of steaming at the same time as you brew. Steam wand is good, solid power, and will feel pretty familiar if you’ve used a Sunbeam before. You can get good, consistent texture in your milk, and can pour swans and ferns to your heart’s content! So it looks really good, is fast, allows you to use your favourite fresh beans, is user friendly for the newbie, but rewarding for the keen beans and creates great, consistent coffee. It’s a new look for Sunbeam - a great look for Sunbeam, and definitely worthy of consideration for your next machine. It’s earned a place in my bench - Happy brewing.

Sunbeam Origins first impressions!
3 January 2024

The machine is very easy to use in comparison to earlier model EM 7100 series machines. Conical burr grinder is simple to use. Coffee produced good crema, frothing of milk no issues. It does feel a little lighter in construction & I do miss my pressure gauge. The timer is not a bad indicator. I think the tamp is a little light weight dimpling the face after first use tapping the group head for levelling. Milk jug could be a little larger. Overall a great value machine with twin thermoblock for the price!

Terrible coffee machine, don't do it.
9 July 2024

Coming from a Sunbeam EM6910 that lasted us 15 years I had high expectations of this machine but it doesn't live up to them. The grind is completely inconsistent, one cup to the next you do not know what you will get. With our supermarket beans coffee was weak with little crema, regardless of basket (the same beans making us great coffee 2 days earlier on old faithful). It performs better on fresh roasted specialty beans. The cup tray is plastic and not a warmer tray as I expected (my own fault I guess). While you can extract and boil milk at the same time it is very cramped. I have fought with this machine for several weeks and truly regret this purchase. It DOES look fantastic on the bench.

Wonderful machine, all the bells & whistles!
14 August 2024

We bought this machine to replace our old sunbeam, Which was six years old. The sunbeam had a couple of issues over that time which we were able to fix quite cheaply but more recently had an issue with Power and thought it was time to upgrade. The coffee Machine gets used at least five times a day every day, and so far, we love it. We like the additional features such as the LED display and the ability to tap and grind rather than holding to grind. The magnet holder at the top is a nice touch. The machine is really classy and modern And people have commented when they’ve come over and seen it. I feel like we have the same capacity as a cafe and we’re really happy with it.
