Let me say Sunday Riley doesn't disappoint! I have 4 other products of theirs and love them all. It was no surprise I'd love their Good Genes Serum as well. I love how it immediately hydrates and makes my skin glow without feeling oily or sticky. My skin is brighter, smoother and more hydrated. I was amazed by how easily the silky smooth formula glided across even my roughest patches of skin. There is a lovely symphony of key ingredients at play in the formula. First and foremost is the star ingredient, a super potent lactic acid that rapidly exfoliates and clarifies congested skin. Then we have licorice root for a radiance boost, as well as lemongrass serving as the skin refreshing astringent. Other notable ingredients include prickly pear, which I have become more familiar with in other skincare toning products, and of course aloe for its well known soothing and revitalizing properties. My skin absolutely loved this serum, though I wish my wallet would feel the same. It felt so pampering to my compromised skin barrier, leaving my face glowing and refreshed. Just fab!

This stuff has totally changed my skin care routine for the better. I had adult acne, and I couldn’t find many products that wouldn’t actually prevent breakouts from happening. Then I found this! Good Genes used lactic acid and licorice root to exfoliate the skin. Using this has cleared breakouts, softened my skin, and my complexion is overall much more bright. This is a miracle product. It comes in an easy to use pump bottle with locking feature, and the formulation of this is a very soft cream. Some days when I use this I have slight tingling in certain areas after applying, but that’s totally normal as this is an exfoliating product. I am so glad I found this!

As I get older, I find that I want to use less products but at the same time, my skin is volatile and has different concerns depending on the day or time of the month. Good Genes is one of the products that stays in rotation even when others get substituted because it’s effective at exfoliating my skin. Do your own research but mine said it’s ok to use this in conjunction with tretinoin and my skin has never looked better. There are times when my skin needs a break and I will refrain from using one or both of these items. The only downside to this product is how expensive it is. I love the results but I don’t know if it’s worth it. I have the largest size and bought it on sale for half off during Black Friday.
