Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil

So I got this after reading all the reviews about it being "the holy grail" of acne solutions. I mean if the reviews are all true, than I must just be the very few who have the exact opposite experience. Typical. This made my face break out so badly! Not only in regular breakouts but painful cystic ones that hurt, and have left scarring on my face. I'm still waiting for them to fully heal so I can start peeling my skin to hopefully lighten up the scars. I'm not trying to scare anyone but use with caution. The first couple days it did clear up the little acne I had but then it turned on me. A lot of reviews spoke of a purging period where your skin will purge out all the congestion for a week or so. I should have stopped sooner but I wanted it to work so bad especially once my face was so broken out. We live and we learn, I guess. I have very oily skin with huge pores and have had medium severity acne all my life. I had it very minimal when I started this but now I'm back to the drawing bored. My skin is ruined and hopefully it will recover. The smell of this product is very herbally and the oil texture is nice to spread all over your face, neck and chest (which are all broken out BTW) so had it not cause so much havoc it would be a dream product for me . No luck, though. Quite expensive to purchase and even more expensive to fix the damage it caused.

I have been using this for 2 weeks now and quite quickly I noticed a huge difference in my skin. The angry irritated red sore blemishes were calmed, hydrated and reduced in size. My key noticeable areas that I struggle with are my nose, chin and cheeks and all those areas I saw a HUGE difference with a few drops and consistent use every other night. The oil itself is a beautiful silky texture without the greasiness and the subtle botanical woody fragrance I really enjoy. I started to use this back in 2019 when I wanted to get my skin right. It was filled with dark spots due to acne and also active spots. It CLEARED my skin. Now it’s 2023. I ran out and didn’t purchase again as I was told by an aesthetician that it was drying. I stopped for like….2months? Spots are back, and it scars again like pre-2019. This oil has undoubtedly kept my acne under control and kept my skin exfoliated enough not to scar. It does have a herbal smell but I love it because I link the scent with clear skin now (and I love medicinal scents tbh). NO! NO! NO! GAVE ME THE SKIN TEXTURE OF A TOAD

I’m pretty sure this product is what gave me sudden bumpy rough skin and breakouts. I’ve started and stopped using this product three times just to be sure and yeah after 3ish days of using it again almost overnight my skin suddenly becomes covered in colourless bumps and acne on my forehead and chin that take 2+ weeks to go away. When I grazed my fingers over my cheeks and forehead my skin was sooo bumpy and rough it was disgusting IT GAVE ME THE THE SKIN TEXTURE OF A TOAD! I’m not sure if I just had a allergic reaction or if you’re supposed to go through a purging phase with this product but if that’s the case I think it’s kinda ironic a product made with the purpose of clearing acne and imperfections makes it worse first. My skin: tiny bumps all over my forehead, and big pimples around jawline, neck, and ears. Oily t zone, but dry cheeks, jawline. This product smoothed out my forehead bumps completely, and I haven't had any big pimples anywhere in months!!! The oil feels thick/heavy for a couple minutes, but it penetrates into skin and dries and you cant even tell its there. I typically put a few drops onto clean finger tips, and tap all over clean face especially trouble spots, and after about 1-2 weeks my skin was fully clear. This product layers well, and does not affect my makeup at all. Smells like tea tree oil, and the smell does not linger. This product is amazing and even though it's expensive, I will buy it over and over again. It also moisturises my skin without any greasy feeling as the oils used in this formula are higher in linoleic acid, which is also great for breakout-prone skin.While it did not prevent new breakouts, the few ones I experienced while using this oil seemed to heal more quickly.I will continue to use the Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra Clarifying Face Oil in my routine and would recommend it if you suffer with oily skin, breakouts and hyperpigmentation.
