Fantastic fit & all around sunglass lens color. Love the spring loaded temples & soft silicone nose pads.My only wish is that Maui Jim would make this exact same frame in a larger eye width & height lens for those of us with bigger faces, like a 61.5 eye width & a 41 height. These are the most comfortable, highest quality sunglasses i've ever owned, they just fell a little short of completely covering my eyes, especially in height.

I own 2 pairs of Kahunas, one in Blue Hawaii and the other in Hawaii Lava. I have a small head and oval face and about a 55/56 mm eye spread and these fit and look great. I also have a pair of Beaches in HCL Bronze and Shoals in Maui Green but the Kahunas are my absolute favorites and best fit. The blue pair are really good for those cloudless bright sunny days or being around water as they are really dark and the lava pair tend to enhance colors like HCL Bronze does and be somewhat better for cloudy bright days. The one thing that disappoints me is that I didn't receive the soft sleeve with the latest pair to put the glasses in like all my other MJ's and the cases now suck. I wish they would bring back their hard cases.

I bought my Maui Jim Kahunas in dark gray back in 2001. From the start I loved them and l’ve never had a pair of sunglasses that received so many compliments. Unfortunately, I dropped them 10 years ago and cracked the frame. I sent them to MJ to be repaired but I was told that they couldn’t be fixed. Unbelievably, they told me I could get new frames for just $75 and that they would replace the lenses, which showed wear, for free! For only $75 I received a brand new pair.I have since bought a different pair which I also broke. MJ replaced the temple piece for free. All I paid was shipping. Amazing products- Amazing customer service.

I’ve tried many different brands of sunglasses, but there really isn’t much like Maui Jim’s, this is my second pair Maui brand glasses. After scouring the website for a style I felt was appropriate, I concluded this was my favorite. It’s fairly durable over the course of a year owned, fits my around average sized head very comfortably, but this pair has a shape that stands out among your other frames. I went with the blue lenses, and have gotten many compliments. Someday, I want to try the red tint as it also has a brilliant sheen~ So long as you keep up your consistently impeccable standards, I won’t ever stop buying from Maui. Thank you!

In my opinion, they are one of the most stylishly underrated sunglasses that Maui Jim has to offer. The animated pictures on the website really does not do it justice (apart from the ones where people have posted their photos). And the frames are exceptionally strong – they will last for many years.Unfortunately, after wearing these for a few months now I have come to the conclusion that they do not fit me that well. The lenses hit my eyelashes and with (many) adjustments it took the lens further away from my face (and eyelashes), but the flipside to this was more light being let in from above (and below). With a heavy heart (in part because I really like the Kahunas, but also due to the hefty price tag!!), I have now replaced them with the Black Corals, which appears to be a much better fit for me.The one lesson I will take away from this experience is the following. If you have to make major adjustments from the start in order to have a better fit, then perhaps think twice about the suitability of the sunglasses for you. I had to make a lot of adjustment trips to the optometrist (where I bought these from) before I was happy with it. That should have been the first red flag. With the Black Coral, I required minimum adjustment, if any.Either way, these are great sunglasses, but unfortunately it was not meant for me.

I've been a MJ's devotee ever since and will wear nothing less. Currently, I have 3 pairs of MJ's with a new pair ("Castles") on the way. They are all excellent, however, I have always preferred my Kahunas because of it's glass lenses. While the Kahunas are a little heavier than the one's that employ lighter weight frame material and other than glass lens materials, nothing compares to the sharpness and visual acuity offered by the thin glass. I have owned my Kahuna's for over 20 years now, in the gun-metal frame with Maui Rose lenses. I like that they have the spring hinges, for fit and comfort, and the glass lenses have outstanding optics. This really is one of their best frame styles, especially with regard to the shape of the lens. They should offer more metal-style frames with wider lenses, like these have. After 20 years, my head contorted the temple arms a bit, so I sent them in for a recent repair, whereby Maui Jim replaced the temple arms and nose pads. They are literally like new now. These are some tough sunglasses. Stylish too. Be sure to take care of them, and they will always love you back !
These are absolutely gorgeous glasses. The quality is in a league of its own. I have customised these in the MauiBrilliant HCL Bronze lenses. That reduces the weight considerably and you won't have that slide-down feeling when moving your head. Granted, the STG is unparalleled when it comes to clarity, but the MauiBrilliant material makes up for the reduced weight and is still of great quality... really, what is the difference between exceptional (STG) and very, very, very, very good (MauiBrilliant)? I have an average sized face and these suits me well. I do think it probably suits a wider, shorter face better... but, I have a longer and less wide face (rectangular). My suggestion is to order these through a Maui Jim retailer (that way you can customise the lens colours and material, as well as get their help to adjust the glasses). I recently purchased my second pair of Maui Jim Kahuna's. I had my first pair for 24 years (1998), and I sent them back twice for lens replacement, and temple and nose pad replacements. They replaced all the items I requested, at a great price. I just recently LOST my (24 year old) Kahuna's and I went online an purchased another pair, identical to them. If you are looking for a pair of (generic) "Shades," go to your local China Mart. If you are wanting the finest, longest lasting, professionally backed, most comfortable pair of Polarized, Stylish, and Quality Sunglasses, then get a pair of Maui Jim Sunglasses. I sent them back to Maui Jim to see if they could swap out the frames because the old frames had a metal fragment under the left side that stuck out and would stick into my cheek when it was hot and I was sweaty, bit of a stinger. They took my old pair and disposed of them and sent me a brand new replacement! I was so shocked after that long of time and that much wear I purchased 2 more pair. The HCL bronze I use in light overcast/foggy conditions, they cut through when it is tough to see. The Maui Rose is my daily pair, why yes, I DO look at the world through rose colored glasses. All 3 are wonderful glasses, great style, performance, and superior quality.
