Super Sculpey Medium Blend Clay 1lb Gray
The best blend of two clays – 50% Super Sculpey and 50% Super Sculpey Firm. The new hybrid clay has many amazing attributes: Thinner baked areas hold up to pressure – sand thin limbs without anything cracking or snapping. Firm enough to hold it’s shape, yet soft/ malleable enough to comfortably build/shape and blend pieces together. Allows the consumer to carve detail into their piece easily. This clay allows you to use build up methods that are more additive and focused on building out shapes in small increments. Once the clay has been kneaded slightly, it is highly malleable and ready to blend. Cuts down on sanding time because it blends so smoothly. Has elasticity yet is firm enough to allow great detail.

Back in the late 1990s I was one of the professional sculptors who were consulted by Hope Phillips at Polyform Inc. on this new sculpting material. Many of us in the field had been using regular Super Sculpey for years to create toy prototypes and design maquettes for motion picture special effects, but were dissatisfied with its working properties. Super Sculpey Gray Medium hits the Goldilocks Zone in the world of polymer modelling materials. One of its best qualities is its neutral gray color and opacity, which allows surface finish and details to show clearly before the piece is baked hard. Also, the firmness is just right to hold good detail while having enough flow to capture fleeting gestures. #sweepstakes

It was A Christmas Present from my dad. I honestly wasn't sure about it at first. However once I opened it and there wasn't a blast of smell, I was excited to try it out. I found a small ball of it while having conversations keep me less distracted. Once I Fired it I found that it was more fun than Fidget toys. And the textures you can carve into them add uniqueness.

I switched from another brand to sculpey a while ago and it has made a huge differnce to my models. Even after some time in storage it is still the perfect texture without any need to work it and I find that medium is just the right balance of soft and hard, it's easy to use but won't collapse or get squashed as you pick it up to try and add a feature. It's worth noting that sculpey will also blend seamlessley into itself so you won't find any unsightly lines where you put another piece on what you're making. I'll definitely be buying more of this in the future.

I have been using super sculpey my entire career and was happy when the Firm came out. However I often found myself blending the Firm with the Super. Now this perfect blend of the two saves me blending time and gives me more actual sculpting time in my studio. Thanks Polyform for this great product that meets my professional standards and artistic needs.
I've been sculpting with various sculpey types for several years now. I love using super sculpey medium for my sculptures. As long as you warm it up before use, it's great and easy to use. Easy to blend/smooth/detail & holds its shape in the oven. Also very strong once baked correctly. I can drop sculptures without worrying about them breaking.
The medium Super Sculpey is exactly as advertised. Soft enough to move easily, but firm enough to sculpt. I still prefer the Firm sculpey for detailed work and less distortion.
Lately, I been purchasing Super Sculpy for my neighbors' kids as an indoor activity to support them being creative. The Medium Clay is not as soft as the original pink clay and is great for kids that knead it a lot. Always bakes great in the oven. A baked Super Sculpy Dynastes Hercules beetle, with a small wire armature has been sitting on our kitchen window sill for months.
i sculpted tiny hands for a project and the other types of polymer clay weren't working out. my wrists aren't good, so it was tough to deal with taking time to try and sculpt a hand well just to have the fingers snap off after baking. anyways, i made a couple hands out of this and the fingers haven't snapped off yet (even after attaching them to the arms) so i take that as a good sign. only four stars because it's kinda hard to condition, but i guess that's the price you pay to keep the fingers on the hands.
