I own the SB-4000 as part of my main home theater and could not be happier. It was natural I would look to SVS for my second system. My second system is a 2.1 system intended to split time between my office in Pittsburgh and our second home in Florida as we "snow-bird". I use Audioengine 5+ wireless speakers which have a "sub out" and I have added the Micro 3000 to augment them... and wow!I mentioned that these will split duty between time in the "burgh" and Florida. None of the other reviews of the 3000 Micro have used the word "transportable" yet so let me be the first. The Micro is small enough that I can rebox it with my 5+ wireless speakers and transport them to their seasonal homes. That is a huge benefit for those of us who don't want to spend a lot of money ... MoreI own the SB-4000 as part of my main home theater and could not be happier. That is a huge benefit for those of us who don't want to spend a lot of money only to have systems sit dormant for 5-6 months a year.About the sub itself... Believe all the other reviews on the Micro. It is fast, detailed, musical, and muscular. It is a REAL sub so don't fall into the trap of thinking of it as a life-style product only being related to the family tree of subs. "Micro" subs from SVS and others are a new-ish category but this is the real deal.My home theater and my traveling system are used primarily for music but I enjoy the effects in movies as well. So far the Micro has met any and all challenges I have thrown at it from a musical perspective. I listen to a wide range of genres and it is at home with acoustic, rock, orchestral/choral, and electronic music. I am VERY happy with it's performance. I have not used the Micro for a big special effects movie yet but I really can't see any chance for disappointment. Am I concerned because it does not hit below 20hz? Not one bit... what it does it does very well. If I needed sub-sonics for my second system I would have purchased another SVS model. To summarize, this thing is musical and will thrill you with impact. The size makes it transportable as well as contributing in a big way to the Wife Acceptance Factor. The combo of my Audioengine 5+ Wireless speakers and my new 3000 Micro meet all of my needs. Thanks again SVS.

They blend perfectly with good bass that is not localized — just natural sounding. Now for some background. I had an SVS PB3000 sub in the system, and although the sub is extremely capable, the single sub just did not work in my living room. The room is very “difficult” with an opening to the dining room in the rear, a 22 foot cathedral ceiling and openings to a balcony and hallway. The single sub sounded great in one listening position, but was too boomy in a location just 5 feet from the sweet spot, but too weak just 5 feet in the other direction. Even though I repositioned the sub into wife-disapproved locations, I could not get a reasonable sound. I could also not accommodate a second SB300 sub due to placement issues and Wife Acceptant Factor.Thank you SVS for your trade-in program.I placed the Micro 3000s in the front corners behind chairs, ran Audyessy XT, then tweaked the subs just a little bit using the SVS app and an RTA program. The result is uniform bass response throughout the room. This configuration obviously does not go as deep as the PB3000, but is adequate for my use which is primarily playing music (lossless streaming, SACD, CD). And, the Wife Acceptance Factor is off the charts as she cannot even see the subs behind the chairs. The SVS specs are spot on. I can hear a 20 Hz tone at reduced volume, nothing below 20 and pretty much all usable sound from 23Hz on up to the 150 Hz crossover. And, although I am a bass-a-holic I am perfectly satisfied with the Micro 3000s. For example, my Home Theater room has 15 inch subs and provides 120 db sound with no distortion (only for show-off times) with sound that will compress your chest. The Micro 3000s run out of oomph above 100db, but since I only listen to music between 70 to 90 db, this is perfectly acceptable for me.

Since I have an old pair of Apogee’s Ribbon Dipole Hybrids, their internal woofer sits quite high off the floor and there is about 18in to the bottom of the ribbon section from their maple stands. The subs also sit on separate 3 inch maple slabs which are spiked to concrete. As others have said, don’t let the size fool you, this thing means business. Downsized from a SB-4000 , which although great, was too hard to position solo and experiment with placement. Not so with this little fella. I am very pleased with the performance. Its amazing, I’m getting 95% of the performance of an SB-4000 while taking up 1/4 the space.I have noticed an audible blip ,which I think is due to the SVS wireless adapter and or the way my Denon cuts bass off when volume is too low or when sub is not needed for x minutes and then turns back on. Oh well. This is probably the Denon 4300hs’ fault.Once I reran the setup for Audyssey XT32, this thing blends in beautifully, I think better than the SB-4000 did.The white finish is nice, don’t see any dust. I think it’s the smaller woofer , just seems to blend, hit and jam so easy.Buy this thing now, make your wife happy, make your back happy while experimenting with placement, make your pocket book happy.
I had been looking for a subwoofer to replace one we have that is very similar in size, but uses a single 8" driver and two passive radiators. We've owned it for years and over time noticed it sounded quite different between movies and music -- ultimately coming to realize its sound was very much one-note and boomy, particularly with movie soundtracks. For a while now, I'd been looking for a replacement; however, everything I looked at was larger and not likely to score well on the WAF (wife acceptance factor) scale - this is in our living room and need something small that would be heard more than seen. The 3000 Micro was exactly what I was looking for. Same small form factor and terrific on-board electronics; however, no ports or passive radiators. A week later, the Micro arrived and was super-easy to set up; I used SVS's SoundPath Wireless Adaptor. I replaced both, the stock power cable and USB cord with a shorter, high-quality after-market cables to minimize cord clutter behind the unit. The wireless transmitter/receiver connected immediately after being powered-up - zero fuss. I set speaker/subwoofer crossover values in my receiver and downloaded the SVS app on my phone. I pulled out my laptop and ran a couple of quick REW measurements, made a couple of minor adjustments and settled back to listen. One of my favorite bass audition tracks is Larry Coryell's Drums Nnn Bass -- all I can say is, Wow! What an improvement! Tight bass, great transients - pure joy to listen to. Equally impressive with movie soundtracks. No more boomy bass -- if you are looking for terrific bass performance in a small form factor, this is it. Great-looking, too.
I finally took the plunge and added an SVS sub to compliment my Ultra Bookshelf speakers. The combination is truly magical! Not only is the bottom end fully fleshed out but the highs seem to sparkle more and the already detailed presentation seems to have even more air and ambience. Set-up and placement were straightforward and simple. The sub perfectly compliments the bookshelf speakers in both tone and sound staging. I was on the fence between the 3000 Micro and SB-3000 and although I can’t say how the later would have sounded in my system I can say without reservation that the Micro meets and exceeds my expectations for performance. It also goes without saying that it looks gorgeous!
Never had the room for full-sized Subs due to Room configuration......Enter The 3000 Micro. Having JBL L300 Loudspeakers, which provide plenty of Bass due to the 15" Woofers I never thought a great need for Subs anyway.......Until I bought Dual 3000's for them........Wow! It's like rediscovering my music all over again........No stronger testament to how good these Subs are with a 2-Channel Set-Up. Very Highly Recommended. The Control App is Out-of-this-world fantastic and heads and shoulders above the competitors. My Set-Up is: Mark Levinson 380S Preamp, Mcintosh MC252 Power Amp, Meridian G08.2 CD Player, ... MoreNever had the room for full-sized Subs due to Room configuration......Enter The 3000 Micro. I had been using my still excellent SVS SB-2000 in dual-duty for my TV and PC audio. However, when SVS launched their Pro versions, I had to upgrade. Reaching down/behind my 2000 to adjust setting ain't easy from my wheelchair. The SVS Bluetooth app is a godsend for someone like me. ;-)I considered getting the SB-2000 Pro, but the 3000 was just $200 more for a bigger, more powerful sub. Bought it, loved it, but it was too big under my desk. I kept bumping my chair into it, so it had to be returned.I then decided to try the 3000 Micro. Absolutely perfect for certain situations, probably great in small to medium rooms. The listening area for which I bought a pair of Micro 3000s is a very open living room area with a cathedral ceiling. I have 8 orb (4 inch sphere full range speakers) driven by a Denon AVR with a Sony Blu-Ray player and B&O turntable, plus streaming lossless music (no TV). I had a single SVS PB3000. Great sub, but did not work well in the room. I had dead spots and places where your head would rattle. I also had to deal with Wife Acceptance Factor (WIF). I placed them behind chairs in the front corners, ran Audyssey with some final tweaking with the SVS app. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Response is very even throughout the room, and they provide all the bass needed for music. I cross them over to the Orbs at 150Hz. Solid to 23 Hz, can hear a bit of 20 Hz, virtually nothing below that (using real time analyzer). The bass is very palpable in the living room, but does not travel a lot into other areas of the house (again, good WIF). I guess they have a lower sound pressure level. Not like the 15 inch sub in my home theater, which rattles the louvers in a nearby closet door. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. One last note. Give them a week to break in - they smooth out and blend better with the other speakers.
Bought dual SVS 3000 micros for my bedroom HT system to replace my existing DT subs. I frankly have never really been happy with the DT subs in their smaller systems. Mine always seemed somewhat muddy to my ears and often buzzed when reaching down deep. We had to devise a special set of feet to prevent them from skating across the floor. When the 3000 micros finally arrived and I opened the boxes, I was candidly a bit disappointed. I was expecting something that would dwarf the performance of the DT subs, and given the diminutive size of these subs I was not holding up much hope.Hooked them up without calibration because I wanted a look into what I could expect. Loaded up the movie Battleship in 4k with DTS:X and went to the last scene sequence with the Missouri.I was honestly stunned. The bass was tight, deep and accurate. Not only that: the rest of the system seemed to come alive, and I really can’t explain that. The main, surround and center DTs sounded perfect! Surround effects seemed much more localized and present. And the subs, despite their superb performance, did not skate across our floor one bit. The feet you designed functioned perfectly. While not a match for the much larger main HT system to be sure, a dramatic sizeable leap in bass performance. Hard to imagine it comes from these truly small boxes. In short, deep, punchy and clean bass. No dreaded buzzing. Small size belies its power and depth (and has a terrific WAF to boot!). We both could not be happier with this purchase.
