I very much liked the Swanson rosemary oil when it was sourced from Tunisia, but this newer oil sourced from Spain is outstanding. I have just compared a bottle of the oil from Tunisia to the one from Spain, and while the Tunisian oil seems to have been higher in cineole, it does not have nearly as much depth to its scent once the initial impact of the cineole wears off as does the Spanish, which seems to me to be almost a mixture of rosemary cineole and rosemary verbenon. The scent is very much like rosemary verbenon, but it is clearly high in cineole as well. I'd say not as high in cineole as the Tunisian, but there is a significan cineole component. But once that minty/cineolic note evaporates, what's left is a gorgeous sweet uplifting herbal scent. I love Swanson's products! But I think I must have had a bad batch of this EO. It did not smell like any eucalyptus I've ever encountered. It was a strong barnyard, rotten vegetation odor that even overwhelmed even clove and cinnamon in a recipe. The dropper insert came off and spilled all over in the first use making it awful to clean up. I threw it away rather than bother to return it as I just wanted to get it out of the house. I had not read other reviews until after and some sound like normal fresh eucalyptus but a few that are malordorus like mine. I realize EOs can be strong or earthy in character, but something was radically wrong.
