SweetLeaf 229114 Organic Stevia Sweetener 70 Packets

I've been a fan of Sweet Leaf for awhile and have had completely mixed experiences with different Stevia products. Sweet Leaf is definitely one of the more expensive companies I have used (probably the most expensive honestly), but it is better. You can easily taste the difference between Stevia products, and that some work as sugar or artificial sweetener substitutes in certain things better than others (for example, artificial sweetener as well as Stevia imo gives a bad taste when baking). I rely on Stevia packets for simple things like coffee, iced tea, and to sweeten cereal and oatmeal. Be careful of certain brands like Stevia in the Raw as they do use real sugar in their Stevia (I'm not a diabetic but I feel like at some point I will become one due to several family members with 1 or 2 and because I need to lose weight). In any case, I always keep some with me in my purse because you don't see Stevia packets often in coffee shops, offices, and restaurants. Yes I look like a douche who insists on using all natural and organic products, but it's my $$. Reason this isn't 5 stars is due to the price (significantly more expensive to other Stevia packets and artificial sweeteners), and that you need to use these right away because they do dry and harden. I learned to buy a small amount at a time even though buying more initially costs less (I'm the only one in my household that uses Stevia).

Excellent!

This costs less than other stevia products but for a reason. This stevia was recommended by a specialist because it contains inulin which is good for the digestive system. However, now I regret buying it because when I look closer at the ingredients I see that Inulin is the first listed (which means it's the most prevalent ingredient). Then there's stevia as an ingredient and lastly, there's silica. The sweetening power is not as strong as in pure stevia extracts, so I end up using a lot of it. I also really just wanted Stevia, not inulin and silica in my product. I have inulin powder which I can use separately. I won't be buying this again.

It really tastes like sugar!

It’s the only sweetener I’ll use, including other stevia leaf brands, hands down. It’s even good sprinkled on fresh berries, oatmeal %26 other foods - even in iced tea. It really tastes like sugar. When adding to drinks, I add a little at a time, taking a sip in between, because too much doesn’t taste good. Note: When following SweetLeaf recipes calling for this or SweetLeaf Baking Blend, I generally cut the amount in half - the recipe amounts are too much, bringing about a sickening taste. Oddly, I’ve not noticed this sprinkling it directly on berries %26 cooked oatmeal - it tastes like real sugar, with no weird taste.

My opinion? Worst Stevia I've ever used. :(

I wanted to like this after hearing good things about it. However, it's not a good product for several reasons. One, it has a really weird taste (no, it's not a Stevia aftertaste either - I could deal with that!) I hoped to get used to the peculiar taste of this Stevia, but three bottles later, I still don't like it and it's not sweet enough. Two, it doesn't dissolve well in hot liquids. Three, it does not dissolve at all in cold drinks, but merely clumps together, get hard, and falls to bottom of your glass. Bad taste, clumps, and doesn't dissolve. This makes it the worst Stevia I have ever used, and I have used Stevia for 20 years and tried many different brands. I will NEVER waste my money on this product again. :(

Pleasantly surprised

First of all, I love that Sweetleaf Organics has made a product that helps add sweetener to food and drinks without all of the nasty ingredients that can be in sweeteners. Their organic stevia sweetener is a product I can use all the time. I use sweeteners in my coffee and tea sometimes so I was excited to try this product. I put one packet in my cup of coffee. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted. It is not as sweet as other regular sweeteners on the market but it tasted good and if I would have added another packet to my cup, I'm sure it would have been just as sweet as what I'm used to. Sticky Sweet

This sweetener tastes pretty good. It is a powder instead of granules that is easy to mix in. Has a slight aftertaste, but no worse than other sweeteners. This one does not have the cooling mouth effect that some other types have. The packets are smaller than the standard packets, but still equivalent to 2 tsps of sugar in sweetness. The powder texture is pretty sticky. On opening the box 3 packets inside were leaking product due to side seal issues. The powdery nature of the product puffed out and coated my desk with a fine mist of product. All 70 packets are lightly covered in sticky dust.A microfiber rag helps to clean the packets off, but they still feel sticky and the carton is sticky as well.I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review.

The Best Stevia we have been using it for years, and Love it

This is the Best Stevia! My mom and I have been using it for many years now, and we love it. Recently our local stores have been quickly running out of stock, so its really good that we can buy it at the sweetleaf.com directly. Thanks Keep up the good work.And yes we recommend it. I have now gotten family members and friends hooked on this brand.And even my doctor discovered it through me and now its the one she uses with her family.This is The best option for diabetics.

What changed?

The first time I bought this, it was great. Less than 1/8 teaspoon was enough to sweeten an entire pitcher of tea. This container is twice as big, which perhaps should have been a clue, but I've had to steadily increase the amount each time to see if it made a difference. As of today, I'm up to 1 tablespoon per pitcher and my tea still tastes unsweetened. This container is going in the trash, and I definitely will not be buying it again. Totally disappointing!
