I’m using this device with a Synology NAS, so there’s no compatibility or support issues. Reasonably and competitively priced

I used to use WD for all my NAS HDD, but now I only use Synology drives. When Synology first started requiring their own HDD a few years back for their higher end NAS Systems I was pretty miffed. They were way more expensive per/TB and had fewer high-capacity offerings. But they seemed to have hit a price point for their Plus series drives. Now they are both compatible and competitively priced, So I've installed them on my 2 newest NAS systems. I only wish they came with a 5-year warrantee.

I purchased a Synology DS1823xs+ NAS and the spec sheet claimed that the HAT Plus Drives from Synology were compatible. Well, that's not true, only these HAT3310 drives are and the HAT3300 are not... very confusing. Anyway, I installed 8 of these and I see nothing that makes me say WOW that was worth it... You could buy 3rd party HDDs with 50% more space and a 5-year warranty and get the same performance.... maybe even better. Synology uses fear tactics to make you buy their drives because they can't explain the true benefits other than firmware upgrades... with over 30+ years of buying computer gear, I've NEVER upgraded a HDDS firmware, so what are the selling?
