Tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE 12.4" Octa Core 4GB RAM 64GB Black

I got this as a lower cost upgrade from a really old (10 years old?) Android Tablet that couldn't actually stream WiFi fast enough for 1080p video.It's mid-range price point for a slightly older tablet seemed perfect for browsing and streaming workout videos and media center episodes/movies while exercising on the treadmill, or floor.Turned out it was a great purchase: WiFi seems super fast, screen is bright and clear with very fine resolution. Now it's perfect. The Samsung Pen is turning out to be a favorite as well.I would highly recommend this tablet.

Excellent tablet at an excellent price!

I bought this device in a really good sale. While waiting for it to ship I started reading the critical reviews and began to have buyers remorse. When it arrived, I couldn't have been happier. It is incredibly snappy and the included S-Pen works great. One of the big critical reviews spoke to its 60Hz display refresh rate. I have to tell you that I don't notice that one bit. The display is crystal clear and I have yet to encounter any lag. Also just yesterday I got the android 13 update. This device is just overall perfect for me. I have been using it pretty frequently since I bought it and have yet had to charge it after the initial charge.The one downside is that the device comes with a slow charger. Videos looked detailed and bright, as did any apps I use on it, although I did have a couple of instances where an app like YouTube crashed and had to be reopened – hopefully future updates will fix this bug. Fixed into a metal body, it’s solid enough to hold (though again, large) but if you use a stand or holder it’s manageable for longer use times. It’s only 60hz and not the more desirable 90 or 120hz, so occasionally I see a flitter or stall but it’s not bad, but for this prince point I would have liked to see at least a 90hz screen.The included S-pen (passive – not powered) will pull up a special menu that allows you to do a variety of things including take hand notes, draw/paint, sign documents, select areas of the screen to do a screen shot, write on the screen, and more; the pen menu pops up as an overlay on top of the regular home screen menu which looks a bit disorienting at first, but it’s usable and adjustable in settings if you dig around. The stylus is handy and easy to use with a little practice, though it does not slide up into the tablet itself. It will magnetically stick to the side, weakly, but it would be best to find a case or sleeve that has a slot to hold the pen so you don’t lose it (neither are included with the tablet). Signing documents is a breeze with it, and while drawing was quirky for me as I’m more “old school”, with practice I’ll improve.As with many Samsung devices, the S7 FE comes with some preloaded Samsung apps that are actually handy, like the Samsung shop, a voice recorder, a free TV viewing app, and more. The dreaded “Bixby” assistant is still there, though – and out of the box, when you press the power button to hopefully power down the device, Bixby instead comes to life (you have to press that and a volume key together to power down); you can change this in settings, though. The Google Play store is of course, also available.The Octa-Core 778G-series processor is good for all basics and many games that aren’t top-demanding. You can run a few apps at the same time so long as they’re not super-charged and can run up to three at one time without seeing major hiccups. The dual speakers are pretty good and offer Dolby Atmos quality; I probably won’t use it to power my music at a large party, but for personal use it’s fine, and connects well via Bluetooth to Samsung buds and other wireless speakers (there’s no headphone jack – frown). The 8mp back camera is good enough, lacking a little in the dynamic range department but not bad by any means. The 5mp front facing camera is also more than good enough for Zoom or Duo calls and offers plenty of details in decent to good light, for that purpose, and 3 mics give decent recorded sound. USB-C charging is up to date, but you get a weaker charger with it, so expect around 3 or so hours, give or take, to fully charge the 10,090 mah battery, but it can handle much faster chargers if you own one. Claims of 11 hours of battery life depend on use, screen brightness, etc… I have averaged around 9 or so hours with the way I use it. It comes with Android 11 out of the box, and is available in “Mystic” Black, Silver, Green, or Pink. I have the Black – I’m dull, but like that the best and it looks more pro that way.Ok, so, would I invest in a keyboard case and make this a “laptop replacement”? For me? Probably not because once you add the extra cost of a keyboard case to it (the Samsung runs around $150 and up), you’re past the price point of a good, dedicated laptop. At the suggested retail price ($599 U.S.) to me it’s a bit up there considering the concessions made on the screen and processor, but again, unlike other brands, it does include the S-Pen. For media consumption… movies, magazine/comic reading, and social media, it works great. It’s ok for office functions when used with a stand and external keyboard if you have them around. The holiday season is fast approaching again, so overall I still recommend it, especially considering expected holiday sales.

Great tablet!

I was debating between the Samsung galaxy tab7 FE or the iPad 9th generation. Since Samsung was offering an incredible trade in value of $200 for my iPad mini 1st generation, I was able to get the FE with 8 ram and 256 gb for around the same price as the 64 gb ipad. Plus the tab 7 FE came with a pen. Even though I couldn't see myself using the pen often, it was nice to have. Once I got my tab 7 FE, I used it everyday to test out the features. So far, I love it. I have the Samsung s21 plus so my text messages and phone calls also goes to my tab7. Again, this is a feature I didn't think I would use but while I'm working on something on my tab, it was really convenient to respond to my texts on my tab. The only downside is that Microsoft office does not allow me to edit or create new documents without subscribing to Microsoft 365 since the screen size is over 10 inches. But I just end up using google docs or google slides instead of Microsoft. All in all a great product. It's fast and very responsive. I wanted to spring for the samsung keyboard cover but couldn't justify spending $150 for it. I ended up buying a small Onn keyboard from Walmart and it works really well with the tab7 FE.

I am obsessed!

At first I was bummed out that the promotion only included this tablet and not the S8 or the S8+, but it is actually not bad at all. I haven't had an android tablet in a very long time, and I've got to say i'm glad I picked this over the iPad 9th Gen. I didn't bother looking at the dimensions when I ordered it. So, it was a very pleasant surpise because I thought I was getting a tiny ol' tablet, like the standard sized tablet. Having this one is really having me lean towards getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. That thing is massive and I want it. This tablet was an awesome introduction back into android tablets for sure.The performance is awesome, and the battery life is great depending on what you are usingit for. Just browsing and editing dcuments and such you can get some hours out of this bad boy. All of the apps that I've gotten so far work seamlessly and have had no problems opening mutiple windows for any of them to run simultaneously on the screen.To top it off the S Pen is included and you don't need to buy a $100+ pen to use with your new tablet. the pen is niceand light and instead of a hard plastic tip, it has a nice rubber point that just feels nice and glides smoothly on the bare tablet surface. There is enough friction with the tiny rubber tip that it's not just sliding around like with the Apple pen on the bare iPad screen.There are just so many pros to owning the newer Samsung tablets than the iPad. I don't know much about the iPad pro specs, but I'll be honest for the price and what you get, my personal opinion is that Samsung is taking th cake.

It is magnetic and I just feel quite comfortable with that part I just feel as if I am going to loose the pen if I am not careful. I just think it should have a snap or something more secure. Speaking of writing, the hand writing-to-text software on this tablet is AMAZING. It is rediculously intuitive and always correct. It picks up printed letters, cursive, and a mix of both. I'm truely blown away by it. I can hand write all my notes for school and my notes app can easily take that and turn it into text! Great way to study.

S PEN broke after 3 months and screen won't rotate

I'm disappointed with both the product and the Samsung Care people (or bots?). I bought this tab S8 FE on 11/2022 and it had an option to have your apps rotate even though they were not designed for rotation. After a software update that option was gone and I wasn't able to have most of the app auto rotate. The auto rotate option is useless now. I had to download a 3rd party app to have them rotate as this tab is huge to be used in portrait mode. Also, after 3 months of use the S Pen broke while being used with no force or damage. I spent 1.5 hrs. on the line 800-726-7864 texting your reps and Kalyani D, Abhinav T & Vikas B, after greeting me and asking me the same questions like five times they stopped replying and didn't resolve my issue. old degrading battery in brand new device

Purchased on Black Friday on a trip to visit in laws. Went home with my purchase, charged it up, and was super happy with the tablet! Purchased it for drawing, and was pleased with the responsiveness and screen quality. That is until a few weeks later, when I noticed that when the device was under 30% battery it would just completely shut down. I would have to hard restart the device after charging. When I booted it back up, I thought it was strange that the battery life was already at 55%. Turns out that the battery in these newer samsung tablets degrades extremely quickly, and the device just sitting on the shelves or in a warehouse for so long means that by the time the consumer purchases the item, it might already be defective.
