After much research we purchased this SUP-Yak for the following reasons.- Sturdy and built to last- Easy to transport, setup and inflate- Comfortable, thick seats and foot rests that stay in place- Seats two people comfortably with room to spare- Tahe's adjustable rail system- Excellent, well made paddles and back packWe took this out on it's first maiden voyage last summer on the East River in NYC. The thick seats kept us dry. It handled like a champ on the choppy, rough waters. We have also taken it out into the harbors around NYC and it has performed extremely well. It is surprisingly comfortable and is steady and tracks perfectly in rough waters. It takes up little room once deflated and folded away and can be easily stored. Looking forward to our second ... We are very very happy with this purchase! My wife has the 10’6”. I wanted stability for learning. No need for speed. Pros: (There are many). We paid 95$ extra for expedited shipping. Ordered late in the afternoon and it arrived in a remarkable two days. Packaging is best we have seen. This end of their operation is first class. Very stable. I’m taller and almost 70 years old and had no problems on the board. Seat is wonderfully comfortable, especially with the foot rest. Awesome for me to switch back and forth between Kayak and SUP while afloat. Able to SUP with seat in tact. The foot rest helps with up and down as it gives hand support. It fits easily back in the well designed bag. Strong zipper and easy to carry. Easy to deflate and pack. Why don’t more companies ... MoreWe are very very happy with this purchase! Cons: the brass swivel spring snaps are a bit small and challenging to put in place. We bought ones a size up. No need to struggle with this. Easy fix for them and I hope they make the small but important improvement. We would purchase again without hesitation. And yes-the cost makes it a great bargain.

Board is nice, light, stable, and paddles straight. Seats and foot rests are comfy and work well (though I'm not exactly sure I'm hooking them in right, directions aren't great). The daisy chain for the seats is a nice feature. But I can't get the hand pump to work. Pumped over and hour with only a little air going in, the gauge never registered and pressure. Bought an electric pump which works but it would still be nice to put the last bit of air in by hand so as not to over fill.

I’ve wanted to try a SUP for a while but being a big guy and the lack of models that are out there for bigger paddlers and the costs of the few that had the weight carrying capacity, I’ve held off and stuck to my kayaks. When I saw this one and being on sale, I decided to give it a try. I’m happy I did. I also ordered a seat and foot brace to use it in kayak mode as I want to do some fly fishing with it too and having a clean board with little for lines to snag on was also a draw.I haven’t gotten to try or use it in SUP mode yet since it’s been ridiculously windy where I am but did paddle it in yak mode with the seat and foot brace. It’s quite comfortable in yak mode. I was riding high and dry on the board.Pump is quite nice. I do use a little handheld rechargeable pump like the Kokopelli to initially inflate the board as much as it can and then finish it with the floor pump inflating it to 15 psi. I have no problem with the hose staying attached pumping it up to 15 psi. I have to wonder with reviews I’ve read where people say they have to hold the hose onto the kayak after 10 psi - you do realize you twist the hose connector onto the valve to keep it in place - right? It’s not going anywhere if you do that. Then untwist it to remove when inflated to your desired pressure.Looking forward to more paddling both seated and standing with mine. Seems like a great board to try if you’ve never tried or had one.
REALLY pleased with this! It is so versatile - I have used it as both a single and a tandem kayak, as well as stand up paddleboard, and it has all been extremely easy and smooth. I'm very impressed with the way it travels as a kayak - I was expecting to have to paddle in a constant swerving S shape rather than travel in a straight line, but it actually handles a lot closer to a "real" kayak than you'd think, and moves quite fast for what it is! If you paddle tandem, you should situate the seats farther apart than you might think - my first time out, the front and back paddles were clashing a bit if you and your partner weren't perfectly in sync; the second time out I spaced them apart better and it was a much better experience. 10/10 would buy this again. Inflation with the provided pump is a workout, but doable, and takes maybe 5 minutes - and if you have a power inflater, even better!
Bought the 10' 6' SupYak and love it!. Easy to inflate and put together for first use. Video so helpful and clear. This board is so much lighter to carry than the hard board rental I was using before. I am using it in both kayak and paddle board modes in the ocean in Maui. Paddle is sturdy and easy to convert between modes. The kayak seat is very comfortable and supportive on my back and foot rest great too (I bought two clips to make the foot rest quicker to take on and off). Paddle easy to convert. SUP tracks well and is stable and I can do yoga on the board too. Totally happy with this wonderful product!!!
The paddle board works fine. the looped webbing around the edge is very nice for securing misc item. Only 3 stars because the paddles are rather small for the kayak set up and they don't have the feel of a normal kayak paddle. The paddle I'm comparing it to is like what you get when you rent a kayak, not a high dollar paddle. The Paddle is also quite heavy compared to a kayak paddle. The most annoying part is the way the handle locks into place. It has a clip that slides in and out and it has to be lined up perfectly with the 2 holes. Also, this clip pops open on is own and will pop off the paddle all together. We lost one of the clips first time using it and now I am stuck trying to find a replacement. So major design flaw there. I expected a much better paddle ... MoreThe paddle board works fine. the looped webbing around the edge is very nice for securing misc item. Nice combination inflatable. This one is replacing the inflatable that was purchased about 10 years ago. This one is nice and sturdy but, the vinyl is not as strong as the old board. Some how the first time out the underside came up with 2 small marks on the bottom. A few hours later went to use it and noticed it had deflated slightly. Thought that was odd. Checked for leaking at the valve, OK. Checked the top, OK. Then flipped over and found the 2 small marks, and that's where the leaks were. The vinyl is very thin compared to the old board. So, beware of this issue. We need to locate some vinyl adhesive and do a repair on a board that was used once. Kinda disappointing. Honestly, really impressed. We have rented paddleboards and kayaks in the past, and knew we wanted to own of the two for this summer. I feel so lucky to have found this combo with a sup-yak, and I love the versatility of them being inflatable.Overall the quality is what's impressed me the most. These are so well made and are really thoughtfully designed. I love the daisy-chain feature, especially with the addition of a few d-rings and bungees if our own. The hand-pump is nice too, psi gauge right on top with a yellow-red-green inflation guide. Sure hand-pumping is hard, but it offers a good pre-paddle workout for the upper body. Every snap, buckle, lobster closure, seam and other material is high quality and we feel confident th le boards will last many years. As ... MoreHonestly, really impressed. The surface offers excellent soft grip for standing, kneeling, laying, yoga and anything in between. I love that the textured surface covers the entire length of the board, it's a really nice feature. The paddle is great, comfy grip and adjustable. As a kayak, it's smooth. We took ours out on a choppy lake with a strong head-wind and had no trouble staying the course. Best part is, you have a wide open platform so you can spread out, use the foot rest, let your feet skim the surface off the edge, and float and have a kayak-picnic. The seat adjusts to be upright or more reclined. When you dock just pick up and walk the board ashore. Easy-peasy.Deflating was easier than inflating, especially given we had the psi on our sides. We rolled them up, bagged everything and walked out with the whole setup on our backs (including two towels, a medium size dry-bag, two water bottles, etc).Overall, I'm really happy with this purchase. We've done a lot of research and you really can't beat the price. We waited a while to buy, and ultimately we wish we had bought sooner. As the box reads, they're "endless fun".
We bought two tandem SUP-YAKs so we could go out with our adult children. We like the flexibility to position the seats for solo or tandem or SUP. My husband and I went out tandem 12 times this summer. We purchased inflatables so we wouldn't have to lift hard shell yaks onto the roof of the car and so we could store them in the house (very small garage). We typically wipe down the yak while rolling it up. Back at home we unroll it so it can dry and then re-roll it for storage. It dries so quickly - much faster and more completely than inflatable yaks of the traditional kayak "boat" shape. The paddles are a little heavy so we may upgrade our paddles in the future. I found the seats to be great. My husband puts more pressure on his seatback and decided to buy an alternative seat that looks more like a folding frame beach chair. We are not experts, but we observe that our sup-yak tracks better than other inflatables we see on the water. We do not use the foot rests, but that is personal preference. By the way, many people we have met have tried tandem and found they didn't get along. Maybe rent a tandem before committing to the purchase.
