I love playing single player escape games on my phone, and we've tried a 'real' (physical) escape game experience as a family (6 of us, ages 16+), but had not tried a board game of this type before. This version of the game is about saving the bees to save humanity.Having a 'fixed' game time of 90 mins was great in terms of knowing it wasn't going to play on indefinitely. As a large-ish group most puzzles were solvable in a reasonable timeframe, and there were some helpful hints/clues available. The kids particularly liked the interactive element (QR Codes, phones etc), though I'd suggest it's better suited to slightly older children (possibly a little older than 13). The 5 of us playing didn't quite succeed in finishing within time, but we decided to carry on to ... MoreI love playing single player escape games on my phone, and we've tried a 'real' (physical) escape game experience as a family (6 of us, ages 16+), but had not tried a board game of this type before. It's a high quality game (both in terms of gameplay and manufacture) but Id probably recommend buying it as one-off for a special occasion/event with family or friends.I'll seriously consider the other games in the series for the right occasion.

It was a great experience for our family to host this escape room game. If you have a logical reasoning mindset and an eye for detail, you will enjoy the challenge. I liked the videos introducing the mission at the start as it helped set the scene along with the different components included in the box.The colours used on the back of the compass could have been a bit more contrasted though as it was difficult to distinguish the different shades of green and blue. It would have been easier to work on the map challenge if the tracing paper fitted the entire map rather than having 4 separate sheets. Overall, we all enjoyed the brain tickling Island Edition and would highly recommend this game.

Having completed a real escape room, the kids were eager to give this a go!The design and quality of the product is exceptional. I'm we played the game as a family of 5 ranging from 11-71 and what it game it was!The video at the beginning sets the scene and the instructions give tips on how to create the perfect environment to add suspense. The 90 minute time limit is helpful and provides you with a cut off of it gets 'too intense'.As a group many of the puzzles were solved without too much drama. Some, required a little more thought. We have shared this game with family to get their views. We would definitely recommend this game because it is fun and quite tense at points. It is a game that could be exchanged with family/friends to avoid dust gathering in the game box.

Enjoyable family game, we played this game with 4 players but can be played with more or less. The puzzles are a good balance between easy and difficult, the online interaction was fun and created the scene which was a nice touch. There were a couple of occasions that we were all truly stumped (although to be fair our family does not have the best track record of escaping escape rooms) however it did give hints to try and guide you through. The only negative side I would say is once you have played this it is unlikely you would play it again so it may be better value for money if there was a number of different escape scenarios and this is the only reason I have given it 4/5 as our family had a very enjoyable evening playing this game.
Played with the children ages 19 and 16. I have to be honest, it was a bit of a faff for my brain to set up so one of the kids had to take over. They managed no problem. You need internet access to watch the start up video and input the answers as you go along. Some of the puzzles are fairly easy and others a bit harder so was a good balance. We enjoyed the 90 minutes - great fun for a rainy day. Overall, a fun game but you can only really play it once so maybe some more scenarios could be introduced. Would definitely recommend.
We have played a few family friendly escape rooms in the past and were really keen to try this out. We played with 2 adults and 2 kids (aged 11yr and 14yr). The kids liked the interactivity with the QR code to access the video which set the scene and made the challenge exciting. The game consists of a series of 3 challenges each with a unique code word to solve and input online. Each challenge has a number of smaller logic based activities most of which the kids could solve and they were fully engaged. We did find the link between these small activities and the code word to be a bit tenuous and we had to access some help from the videos. Unfortunately the clues offered were either too simple or threw us off completely. So time was up and we failed at challenge 1. We had to access the answers from the booklet to be able to continue and at this point we had lost the kids attention. We did finish the game the next day and overall the kids said they enjoyed playing the game and especially liked the logic puzzles. Once you have played the game that is it and having alternative pathways within the game to play again would be good. Overall I would play another game in the series as it did provide us with some family fun time but would perhaps look for a lower age limit.
Played with 2 adults and mature teenage stepdaughter! Fast paced game that captivated us all. Only 90 minutes to save the bees and escape the island! The puzzles were challenging but not impossible. I would recommend for families with older children. Beautifully designed clues and hints if you get stuck, we all really enjoyed the ending (no spoilers)! I will buy others in the range. A nice change from other escape room board games we have tried.
We tried this as a group of three adults. We really enjoyed doing it but it was trickier than we expected and trickier than similar things we've done before. We passed it to my brother-in-law and his family who also tried it and said the same. It's very well made and all of the items were of good quality. It's well packaged to make it clear what you need to do in which order. The video clues and intro are nice to have, if of less interest to the adults who played.I ah ent added any pictures because anything other than the box risks spoiling it!
This was a good game to engage my teenage kids with and spend some time together as a family. Solving puzzles and cracking code to get the end of the game as a team was really good fun and I will definitely look for another game in the series. Some of the puzzles are quite tricky but ok for older teens. The design and quality of the game is really good and would make a nice gift.
The game looks smart. You need access to the internet to play as QR codes are used to introduce the game, go through the different places in the game, and get hints. You are also given access to a playlist to play the game with, which pleasantly creates a tropical island atmosphere. The game consists of 3 challenges (containing variouss puzzles) and is timed to last 90 minutes, you can play it in parties of 2 to 8. 3 of us tried this game: an adult, a teen and a tween. I must say that the game is definitely for teens and adults - the tween got bored very quickly. Those over 13 in the room enjoyed the puzzles. The first challenge was good fun. However, although the individual puzzles were very accessible, we couldn't put different clues together to finish the last 2 challenges. The hints given in the booklet and online were of absolutely no help whatsoever; they didn't tell us anything we hadn't worked out. But then.... no hint on how to compile all the puzzles together to get out of rooms, or what was requested from us. The level of difficulty was unreal.Maybe the game was just too difficult for a first go at an 'escape room', but the difference between the easy puzzles and having to compile these elements without any direction nor help whatsoever left us frustrated. We ended up looking at the solutions.Overall an excellent idea, but something is missing in this game to make it a great experience. There is only one answer to the game, so I wouldn't play it again. This experience gave us a taste of what escape games are - though I doubt I would give it another go unless I am with other people who have 'escape room' experience. This said all the material provided is of great quality - booklet, compass, maps etc. - so this could be a great present for teens or adult who have played similar games before.
