I bought this drummers throne to use for playiny my guitars with. This way I can have my feet on solid ground and not on some bar foot rest that would be on a higher chair.
This thing is built like a tank. Very solid and sufficient comfort. You might want y give it a try if you sit down to practice. Best idea I've had to sit and play. Can put it right in front
of your amp for easy amp adjustments. AMS rocks of course.Get one.

I have had other "tractor" seat style thrones in the past, but this one takes the cake. The seat is soft and comfortable but firm enough to support your lower back. The
hydraulic component is the star of the show though. Not only does it make seat height adjustments a breeze but it has a little give in it so you dont get that pain in your lower
back from sitting behind your kit for hours at a time. Lastly, its solid. The legs and large rubber feet hold your throne firmly in place and this chair can accommodate bigger
drummers, such as myself. Overall it's a phenomenal seat and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high end professional quality drum throne.

Comfortable, Stable, Well Built Throne But....
2 November 2019
I tried a lot of thrones before I decided to purchase this one. I feel it is the most comfortable and supportive throne for my needs. I am happy with my purchase. However, there are a couple of issues worth noting.Issue One: upper leg attach ring and memory lock have to be adjusted and tightened (I mean TIGHTENED!!!!) as they tend to slip to the top of the cylinder making the throne wobble. I will be keeping the correct size Allen wrench in my hardware bag just in case. (Note that this is not an isolated issue as the same behavior has been noted on all three of these thrones that I have interacted with.)Issue Two: this throne does not ship well on UPS. The first one I received was bounced around so badly that the transportation cap on the hydraulic cylinder was completely destroyed and the cylinder had been triggered and shot through the internal packaging. The cylinder was damaged and throne had to be returned. Replacement was received with a split transportation cap which was also out of place, luckily the cylinder was not triggered. Note that instructions tell you to keep transportation cap and use it whenever transporting throne precisely to keep it from triggering.... Show more

Bought this on a recommendation from Dave at my local guitar center in Johnson City NY not for drums but for playing my guitar and I love it. Comfortable and adjusts easily. Disassembles easily too to take along to gigs. Great quality too. Thanks, Dave!... Show more

I use this chair as a benchrest shooting chair and it is the best drum throne type seat I have used in years. The shape, cushion firmness and the ease of adjust ability is first rate. If it ever wears out I will buy another one.... Show more

Only year old... fell apart in the middle of gig last night
18 September 2022
The shaft blew out in the middle of a gig last night. Had to make do with an equipment case for my entire second set. I tried to fix it at home today with no success. I could not locate manuals or parts diagrams online. One thing I noticed from the picture on Guitar Center's website is that a part appears to be missing from my throne.I called Guitar Center customer service and the agent was absolutely no help at all. There was a lot of background noise (like she was working from home) and-- I'm sorry-- but I couldn't understand her through her accent. Most importantly, she just wasn't knowledgeable about the product or factory warranty, and she kept going back to Guitar Center's one-year standard warranty. We got cut off at some point and she never called me back. ... MoreThe shaft blew out in the middle of a gig last night. Had to make do with an equipment case for my entire second set. We got cut off at some point and she never called me back. Terrible customer service experience. It is important to note that I did not put this product through heavy use at all. No product from a reputable company like Tama should be failing after one year. I have never had this problem with a drum throne or any other drum hardware in 40 years. Perhaps I got a lemon, but GT and Tama really should stand behind what they sell irrespective of the actual warranty.Bad product. Bad service experience.... Show more
