I’ve tried many brands of tampons over the years (and I’m 40, so it’s been like 27ish years) and Tampax cardboard is the best I’ve found. Even the cotton organic or whatever it’s called ones from Tampax aren’t good and make my whoha hurt. The pearl and other ones don’t hold nearly as much fluid don’t fit my body the same AND have plastic… aren’t we trying to be green anymore? The non-applicator kind and cardboard are the greenest. Heck make the applicator from Hemp and save the trees. Only downside is the wrapper and all are paper(which I prefer) except when it’s raining and the Kroger pickup kids don’t cover them and ruin a box. I just put them in a ziplock baggie in my purse. And who cares about discrete? I ain’t ashamed to be a real woman. Never have been. I received a sample of Tampax Cardboard Super Plus, in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I have used this brand since forever. They are consistently my go to when it comes to tampons, because they are effective and work. They have evolved in their absorbency and applicator. But ultimately what I love, is that they are absorbent and protect you against accidents. The material seems to encompass the entire area, without letting any fluid escape. My mom introduced Tampax to me, and I have done the same to my daughter.
Like most women I need tampons every month. Also, like most people I'd like to reduce my use of plastic and though tampons don't use a ton of plastic, you end up using a lot over the month. I wanted to start using cardboard applicators. I tried using tampons with no applicators, and that was a no go for me, so this is the best compromise. Also, I recently had to start using super tampons and these are very absorbent. I actually end up bleeding through most tampons within an hour, when my flow is at it's heaviest and I found this are less likely to leak. The best option for absorbency and also the best option for an environmentally better option than a plastic applicator.
Very great tampons they don’t give you bad odor, and their absorbency is amazing. Doesn’t cause pain or discomfort when inserting them. They are just as easy as using the plastic ones the cardboard works for me. I recommend these because Tampax are free of harmful chemicals such as perfume, dyes, and chlorine bleaching. The cardboard is just as safe because it is clinically tested to be gentle on skin. I definitely recommend them they feel great especially while working out. You feel like nothing is in their they are painless and very comfortable.
I prefer cardboard tampons over plastic because I can flush them rather than wrap and toss them in the garbage can. Flushing is more sanitary to me. They are slightly harder to insert at times due to not being as smooth as the plastic applicators, but they don’t leak so it’s worth it. They do what tampons are supposed to do and this box has a lot of them so I don't have to worry about running out for a while. They're not designed as pretty or colorful as the "Tampax Pearl applicators, but who needs them to be pretty. We purchase tampons for 1 reason and its not for prettiness. The reason that I like the Tampax Cardboard Applicator Tampons is because everything is flushable and they're eco friendly.

It's also great at stopping leaks, moisture and odor. These tampons with the traditional cardboard are my favorite, they just work better. I think not being rounded like many compact tampons makes a huge difference. I have almost always used Tampax brand for my monthly needs and honestly it's essential for me, they have always worked great for me. Tampax are affordable and can be found almost anymore. These are absorbent and comfortable which is what we all need. This size is great for heaviest days. They have a braided string which doesn't get lost. I love how companies are starting to see that when given the option women love organic products. I remember the days when tampons were rather scary because of toxic shock syndrome. Not with these, ladies this company has brought our much needed products into the future. No rayon, no chlorine bleaching, no dyes or fragrances. Whatever in the world made those companies think we want to put something with all that nonsense in our bodies is ridiculous. You want one from a company trying their best to keep us safe and help solve a problem, go with these. They truly care about women's bodies.
I've used tampons for years, of both the plastic and cardboard varieties in every size made. The Tampax Super Plus tampons with cardboard applicator is great for my heavier period days because it holds a lot and doesn't need changed often. However, I cannot handle the cardboard applicator. It's very uncomfortable to insert. Plus the paper packaging makes a loud crinkly sound so it's not very discreet. I did appreciate the anti-slip grip that was put on the applicator. The only benefit to these is how environmentally friendly the cardboard is over the plastic but I wouldn't try these again.
