Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 Di Usd Lens For Nikon F
Maximum optical performance for the ultimate image quality The SP 35mm F/1.4 produces excellent pictures. The smallest points and shapes are reproduced with absolute precision. Meticulous finishing touches have allowed Tamron to eliminate all image aberrations using an optical structure consisting of 14 lens elements in 10 groups. The lens has several special glass elements inside, including four LD (Low Dispersion) lenses and three GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) elements. The lenses are coated with the new BBAR G2 coating (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) for the first time; this minimises scattered light and reflections better than ever before. Even the smallest details are reproduced in stunning clarity. Lightning-quick, ultra-precise autofocus The autofocus makes use of Tamron’s proven USD ultrasound motor (Ultra Silent Drive). The new Dynamic Rolling Cam mechanism represents a huge leap forward in automatic focusing. The new SP 35 mm F/1.4’s autofocus is unmatched in speed and precision. The innovative focusing system makes for consistently high AF performance and improves accuracy even under the most challenging conditions for photography, especially at extremely low or high temperatures.

I recently purchased this lens locally and am THOROUGHLY impressed with it. Here are my thoughts thus far:Pros:- At f/1.4, in-focus subjects are quite sharp. Unbeatable at f/2.5+.- Autofocus is reasonably fast, smooth, silent, and quite accurate.- Bokeh is incredibly smooth and ethereal.- Wonderfully controlled flaring and very little ghosting.- Excellent contrast and very little distortion.- Hood is button-released instead of just clicking on. Nice touch.Cons:- It's heavy... 8oz heavier than Nikon's 35 1.4g and almost 3x the weight of the 35 f/1.8g. I typically shoot with a 70-200 though, so it's not so much of a bother here. Elderly photographers may have a rough go.- It spoils me and makes me not like my f/1.8 class.- No VC, but truly, at f/1.4, it's ... It's fun to shoot with and the images it produces on my D850 are stellar. No AF fine-tuning needed; it's awesome right out of the box. I'm planning on trying my hand at galaxy photos during the next new moon as well.If you're in the market for a 35mm prime, this one is definitely worth your time.

Needed this prime for a while but do not use enough to warrant buying the Nikon version. All reviews gave it excellent ratings and I have to say I agree. Have used only a couple times but results are fantastic. Will be using it to shoot a wedding this weekend. Sharp focus and great colors off of my D4 AND D850. Solid build. Would recommend this lens.

I have been shooting with nikons 50 1.8g and 85 1.8g lenses on my nikon d750. Those are great but I knew I would eventually need a wider lens for portraits and smaller spaces. This lens is so tack sharp. If I shoot wide open with the other lenses they are sharp for the most part but there’s just something so amazing about the results with this tamron lens where i can trust i will get the area that i want in focus. I highly recommend this lens. Not only is it sharp but also on the cheaper end compared to native lenses. a definite must!

I was absolutely astounded with the quality and feel of this lens the moment I took it out of the box. I am primarily using this lens for car photography since it is a large hobby of mine. I took a few photos of my dog with the lens paired with my new Nikon D610 and I was amazed by the buttery smooth bokeh, sharpness, and snappy autofocus. The 1st reason I decided to get this lens is because I had heard multiple good things about it from other photographers that shoot similar objects to me and haven't heard a bad thing about. The 2nd reason I got this lens is because since I was buying an older used full frame (upgrading from Nikon D3500 to D610) I decided to go all in on the lens and I have no regrets or complaints.B&H of course did an amazing job as usual with ... Bought this as a high performance 35mm Prime Lens for my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV. I always test my lenses when they arrive to evaluate IQ. Test Procedure: (1) Single sheet map, Scale 3.5 miles to 1 inch mounted on a sheet of flat rigid hardboard (2) Target mounted on an Art Stand exactly vertical by spirit level (3) Canon EOS 5D Mark IV + Tamron 35mm f/1.4 SP Di USD lens on a Manfrotto Carbon Fibre Tripod (4) Camera and lens perpendicular to the target using the camera's 3:2 Ratio (5) Camera + lens set at a distance that just fills the complete viewfinder (6) Lens set to Manual and focused on the dead centre of the screen using the image on the rear LCD + Zoom (7) Mirror Lock Up and Cable Release used to shoot 8 RAW Frames @ f/1.4, 1.8, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11 and 16 (8) ... I bought this for my new Nikon Z6 and absolutely love it! Even as a 3rd party lens on the FTZ adapter it focuses incredibly accurate and fast. You've probably read all the reviews from your favorite sites and watched the YouTube reviews so you know that everyone says this lens is potentially the BEST you can buy for your money. The colors, the bokeh, the sharpness, the build quality...everyone has great things to say.If you're here reading a review it's because you have that TINY bit of hesitation in believing them that a $700 lens could really be THAT good, but I'll add my voice as someone who purchased it without a website or YouTube channel to make a clickbaity review for...this lens really is THAT good. There's a few niche drawbacks like a short throw on the ... It's a hefty lens, but that's going to be ANY 35mm 1.4 lens regardless of brand. If you don't want the size and weight then you shouldn't be looking at the f1.4 versions of a 35mm
Incredible lens, very sharp, beautiful colour rendition. Very fast focusing and silent. No focus issues what so ever with my Nikon D850. This lens has become my main go to lens on walk about. Absolutely no regrets of buying this lens. My only regret is not buying it sooner.
This is the ONLY Tamron lens I own. I have several Sigma Art and Nikon lenses for my Nikon D850 camera bodies. I wanted to add the 35 1.4 to my collection for weddings. Specifically the dramatic wide angle shots and for small areas like hotels or on the dance floor. So naturally, I purchased the Sigma Art since I have their 85mm and their 50mm 1.4 that perform exceptionally well. I ignored the subpar reviews thinking “Sigma can’t be that bad- they have amazing lenses”. Well, it was that bad. So I returned it.Anyway, after significant research and reading, all signs were pointing to the Tamron 35mm 1.4 new release. My husband basically said “what do you have to lose?” So we ordered it. I’ve used it at a wedding and a couple sessions now and it performs exceptional for both wide shots and up close. I have found that the sweet spot for this lens is f2.2. It gives a nice Bokeh and tac sharp. I highly recommend this lens. I go with what works the best- and Tamron got this one right!
I added a couple of FX 24mp bodies to my system. I was lacking a full frame 35mm. I've owned Sigma art 35mm 1.4's in the past and aside from the center super image quality I was not really that exited by the off center performance. The IMHO Nikon offerings at this focal length really don't cut it. I'd used the Tamron 35 1.8 and it was pretty good so I thought that was what I had ordered. Yes, I'm a sharp tool. So when the Tamron 35 1.4 arrived I wondered how B&H made such a mistake. when I reviewed the order it was my mistake and I am so happy! This lens is out of this world great. It may be better than my Sigma art 50mm 1.4. The only things I could find to complain about would be a little chromatic aberration in some situations and that the beautiful metal barrel ... Yes it is heavy, but that comes with the territory for super excellent fast glass. This one of the very best lenses I have ever used and I've had many many. If you are remaining in the F-mount and need a fast 35mm I am sure this is the very best auto focus one that you can possibly obtain. No I don't miss the VR.
This lens is a first rate piece of glass. Period. As the other reviewers have said, the sharpness, contrast, color rendering, bokeh, are all amazing. One of those lenses you just want to use and use. At the store, I compared it to the Nikon 1.4 on my D850 and while I didn't carefully set up the shots using a target and tripod, I did take the same photo with both lenses and when I compared them both in my viewfinder and, more importantly, in Lightroom later, the Tamron easily was the choice lens. The only advantage Nikon had was in weight but I'd still chose the Tamron even if it weighted another half pound. Also, my lens was spot-on when I went to see if there was any lens fine-tuning to be done. There wasn't. (Which is nice because, in the past, some Tamrons have ...
