I think I'm in between shades and right now I have the lighter shade- so I look a bit pale when I wear this because it really does have great coverage. It's ok since it's winter I can just wear blush etc but by the summer I'll need to get the darker shade to mix- and I almost returned this because I wasn't sure I liked it but I tried a much more expensive "luxury" product that gave me a horrible allergic reaction and went back to this, and my skin has been fine. I think it's worth a try, and I have very sensitive skin. It needs to be blended in my opinion, with a damp beauty blender sponge. And you can add more layers if doing that removes too much of the coverage... but that helps it look more natural on me.

Excellent

Excellent formula - applies seamlessly with the brush . I wear light medium neutral and it covers really well whilst remaining skin- like with complexion looking smooth after application. I pair with the shape tape radiant concealer in light neutral which brightens under eyes as well as providing extra coverage where required. High quality brush too thus making duo excellent value .

Good but not for me...

I purchased this foundation and tried it for a day wear because it was recommended by an Ulta associate. She had oily skin like mine. She told me it was good coverage, definitely buildable. But as I tried it on with full makeup it felt very oily. I waited for a few minutes to see if it would dry but it stayed the same consistency on my skin. (keep in mind I have acne prone skin) I then applied powder to see if it would reduce the shine. (don't get me wrong it definitely looked like real skin as the associate said) But as I had worn it for about 2 hours it began to get super oily and adding powder just made it separate. Unfortunately, it did not work for me personally, but this is my experience.

Great coverage and hides redness!
22 May 2023

I was a bit hesitant to try this CC cream given my past track record, but I was pleasantly surprised! The consistency is very nice and creamy but not too thick or too thin. It can be a bit cakey in certain areas like the nose and chin, but definitely not as bad as some others that I have tried. I find that using a sponge/beauty blender works best. It hides rosacea and redness which I really like, and it seems to last all day! I have oily skin and it made no difference in that which is good. It didn't help the oiliness, but it didn't worsen it, which I feared. This product is on the pricey side though. Overall, this is an excellent CC cream and I definitely think it is worth a try! It is my new go-to.

I've never been a tarte fan
8 March 2023

Their amazonian clay stuff performed poorly on me, the one brush I got broke, the shape tape situation is far too heavy and full coverage for my style. I'm actually shocked I even bought this as I try to stick to luxury complexion. But for some reason, bored in an ulta, I picked it up. I loved this from the first moment I got it. I kept looking for flaws since tarte has never made anything I've been impressed with, but found none. I have super dry skin, but sometimes radiant or hydrating products just feel like they sit on top like an oil slick and won't dry down, this gave me a satin almost matte look that didn't crease or look drying. I even took it to a wedding and got tons of compliments on my makeup. I put it back on the shelf when I got a new high end ... MoreTheir amazonian clay stuff performed poorly on me, the one brush I got broke, the shape tape situation is far too heavy and full coverage for my style. I even took it to a wedding and got tons of compliments on my makeup. I put it back on the shelf when I got a new high end foundation, and hadn't gone back to it cause again, I just don't think that highly of tarte and almost gaslit myself into thinking it wasn't that great. I recently took it on vacation, thinking it could be my zoom makeup for work. I don't like wasting my high end product on zoom calls so I usually just throw on something light and cheap to even out skin tone and call it a day. But I can't stop staring at my own face. I layered this over a basic moisturizer and some flawless filter and it looks so good I basically want to leave the house just so the world can see how good my foundation looks. Anyway I felt like I had to give it a good review.

New fave
23 July 2024

I love this, just turned 30 and skin is changing, dry combo skin, and have been trying new foundations the last couple years. Estee lauder hydra rescue foundation was my main go-to. I tried about face and liked it, but its heavy and transfers easily. Nars felt too orange and heavy and the bottle leaks. Ilia serum foundation is greasy and bare minimum coverage with a steange smell but feels good for my skin once it sinks in. Clinique even better serum foundation was also decent but this is is. Goes on smooth and easyoly sets with primer/powder. Good coverage. Feels light. I hope this sticks around for awhile. The shade match was wrong as most are for me as im fair with some freckles and rosacea so I recommend going 1-2 shades lighter, and then you can always blend it ... MoreI love this, just turned 30 and skin is changing, dry combo skin, and have been trying new foundations the last couple years. Perfect for dark circles
25 March 2023

I have dark circles, rosacea on cheeks. This is perfect coverage for problem areas, but doesnt look caked on, even after hours on the skin, even around eyes!!! Never had so many compliments on how well I look. Don’t like a heavy made up look, at that age when skin is changing with hormones, so i need some help evening it out. I have light neutral and light med neutral for summer…buy light and med shades in laura geller balance and glow …. Hopes this helps others with shade choice. Please sort out colours on website very confusing to order, before and afters, please show what colour models are wearing. Lastly, can we have this without the brush for repeat purchase(save waste/money)a set with glow wand would be perfect… thanks tarte for innovating formula’s.

Pleasantly Surprised!
8 September 2022

Saw this on sale during 21 Days of Beauty. I was going to pass because I'm not a huge fan of Tarte, but I read the ingredients which this has a lot of skin loving ingredients and mineral sunscreen. I could also get 5X points with my purchase so I thought I had nothing to loose (except the 5X points if I had to return). I also watched a few YouTube influences before buying and one influencer called this a 'basic foundation'. Well, if this is basic, I am ALL IN! This has no fragrance, which is great for my dry, sensitive skin. It applied beautifully with a damp sponge. It didn't accentuate pores or settle into fine lines. I would say this gave me a light, smooth coverage, but I could build it to medium on my red cheeks and I loved how it kept my face hydrated. I ... MoreSaw this on sale during 21 Days of Beauty. Really like it
4 February 2022

I really like this foundation. I wear sunscreen everyday and don't rely on my makeup to provide sun protection, so the spf 15 doesn't bother me. I do like that it has "oxides" in it as I just learned from a dermatologist that oxides in tinted sunscreen products provide protection against other forms of light from the sun so that's a plus. I am in my 40's with crazy skin. I have an oiler forehead and nose area, normal cheeks, and a dry chin. As I age I also deal more with texture, lines, and pores. This makes finding a foundation so much fun. I have applied this foundation with my fingers, a brush and a sponge. I prefer the brush and my fingers worked well too. My sponge soaked up some product and I didn't get very even coverage. I do use primer and I do lightly set ... MoreI really like this foundation. I found this product to look very smoothing and perfecting which is my main goal. I can get light coverage or medium coverage depending on how much I apply. That's my preference. I haven't tried it with a mask, but every foundation transfers on me so I'm assuming this will have some as well. I wear a deeper shade to match my face to my self tanner and that worked out well. I have a feeling this will be my new go to. I can't believe I haven't seen more people talking about this.

Reminds me of the original Tarte formulas
3 February 2022

I used to use Shape Tape foundation and always got tons of compliments on my incredibly sensitive, rosacea skin. Then Tarte changed the formula and added ingredients I can't use. So I started using Amazonian Clay foundation and really liked it. Once again, they changed the formula and added ingredients I can't use. I'm really limited on foundations that don't irritate my skin, so I was freaked out. Just in time, Tarte introduced Cloud Cream. It's similar to the original Shape Tape and Amazonian Clay foundations (no ingredients my skin hates, so please don't change this formula!), and I really like this foundation. It's not quite as matte as I like (that's why it's only 4 stars), but it glides over the skin and covers my redness with no heaviness or cakiness.
