I had tried the Prey Beef flavor in the past and my cats were OK with it. Then I recently brought home a couple free sample bags of the Turkey flavor I got from a local store and my cats went crazy over it. They wouldn't touch any of their other dry food so I was happy to see that Petco had the larger 15lb bag at a decent price. This is now my cats favorite food and it's made from premium ingredients.

This is the only packaged food (dry or wet) that doesn’t upset my cat’s stomach. It took several months of trial with dozens of brands and fresh home cooked foods. Who knew cats could have intolerance for both poultry and fish? It does have higher carbs than I would like and initially he gained a few pounds rather quickly, but we keep him active and the lentil fiber helps him stay regular.

My cat went wild over this. He previously was indifferent to his dry food, however when I brought this home, not only did he pounce on it, he then tried to break into the bag for more. I had to secure it in airtight containers. It smells better than other dry food I reckon. Easy transition from his old food, doing it gradually

My three cats had been on Taste of the Wild all their adult life. The cats love the food, it has proper nutrition, high protein, inexpensive price, and keeps my cats slim and fit. My first cat started off on a different brand of cat food with lower protein and grain. He ended up gaining weight on it and ate alot more of it and poo ALOT. With Taste of the Wild I can free feed my cats, they eat less, poo less, and stay at a healthy weight through out their lifes. Also my cats love turkey.
One of our cats has IBS. She happily eats prescription cat food, but within 15 minutes of eating it, she repeatedly vomits violently. Taste of the Wild Prey Turkey has played an intricate part of saving her life. She is 12 years old now. There was a time I didn't think she would ever live this long. Using a liquid vitamin and antidiarrheal promptly at any sign of her IBS kicking up, along with her eating this cat food, has kept her in great shape. She seems like a 4 year old. The other 3 cats like it too. Having one cat food makes feeding them easy.
We had quite a rough time figuring out which kibbles to be giving our girl as she's having chronic diarrhea due to food intolerance. Came across the LID kibbles by Taste Of The Wild and decided to give it a go as we've tried many kinds of different diets for her and nothing has clear her diarrhea. After a few weeks of transitioning her into the Prey series kibbles, her diarrhea has cleared up and she's not scratching as often!! Very thankful that she's now back to her normal self 😀 Also, she loves the kibbles I'm always seeing empty bowls and I've to constantly refill!!
Aubrey had been doing some, bottom carpet scooting. She was also scratching a lot. The vet suspected she may have allergies to food. It was suggested I cut out ANY chicken, and try any other protein. We went through rabbit, duck, venison and pea, and even other brands of turkey. It was getting expensive, as she would eat some, the decide, no thank you. She didn't even enjoy the wet food given to her! For over 2 years now, Aubrey has been eating Taste of the Wild Prey Turkey, happily and excitedly. She has never turned her nose up at it, and still begs for more after her meal is done. She has never liked a food this long. On a great side note, her carpet surfing has stopped, she is MUCH less itchy, so very soft, and look at how pretty and clear her eyes are. She just had her vet checkup and she is as healthy as can be. I buy the large bag, knowing she will eat the whole thing, even if it takes her a while, and that I will not be left with an open half eaten bag. My other cat, Zetta (not pictured, I didn't want to tease her), unfortunately has SEVERE allergies, and is on a very special diet. She too LOVED this food. She even breaks into Aubrey's special food dish and steals some of her kibble. In good news, Zetta does not seem to react very badly to her extra meals. Other foods would make her itch so horribly, her neck and ears would bleed, and, she lost all her fur on her belly. If she can ever get off her special diet food, I am so glad to know that Taste of the Wild Prey Turkey, will be a good transition for her!! This is by far the best food I have found for my cats!
Our 8 yr. old domestic cat apparently developed an allergy to the prior (Iams) weight mgmt, chicken based, dry food he'd been eating for years and had licked all the fur off of his belly and was starting to lick the hair off a couple places on his legs as well. We tried different food brands, then tried a limited ingredient no chicken, turkey based, dry food (not Prey brand), however the licking / fur mowing with bald belly continued. Finally, about a month ago, we tried this limited ingredient Prey, beef based, dry cat food & his hair appears to be finally be fully growing back! We honestly don't know what all he's allergic to (chicken, all poultry, or other??), however whatever it is, it doesn't appear to be in this food - HOORAY! Compared to pre-allergy, his fur doesn't seem as super soft & shiny as it once was and he appears to have some minor dandruff, however this Prey, beef based, food seems to have stopped whatever uncomfort he had that was causing the fur mowing which was the problem we hadn't been able to solve. He seems to like the food well enough, although he doesn't totally devour it right after being fed like he almost always did with his old food. His now slower eating actually seems good because he used to occasionally (maybe 2-3 times/mo.) throw up right after eating and doesn't do that anymore (although his occasional hurling may have been caused by the allergy too - who knows). Anyway, so far, so good!!
I used to feed my cat Howl Purina until I started thinking about all the unnecessary ingredients in his kibble that could have been causing some problems he was having at the time. I switched him to the ToTW Rocky Mountain formula, and though he loved it, his problems persisted. So I went out and grabbed a bag of Prey Turkey formula and transitioned him to that instead. It's been a few months now and his issues have improved immensely. He's no longer nearly as itchy and he has quit licking himself bald. The limited ingredients really puts my mind at ease but at the same time I know he's getting all the nutrition he needs. He has even been turning his nose up at wet food in favor of this Turkey kibble. Only downside is the fact you can't order it online so I have to ... MoreI used to feed my cat Howl Purina until I started thinking about all the unnecessary ingredients in his kibble that could have been causing some problems he was having at the time. Here's to hoping enough people buy it so I wont have to drive across the county to get it someplace else!
My cat suffers from IBS. For several months now the diarrhea and vomiting escalated. We went through all the "usual" procedures - antibiotics which failed or made her worse, constant tests - ultrasounds, blood work etc. and no solution. Since nothing worked, my sense was that the "prescription diet" dry food she was eating contained ingredients that were not compatible to a cat's system. Last week she experienced the most extreme diarrhea (I knew she was in pain) and that was the last straw for me. After much research, I switched over to the Prey Limited Turkey Formula. Within a few days her stools improved. And she eats with much enthusiasm and enjoys the turkey formula very much. Finally, some relief for her and no more suffering. I am so grateful for this ... MoreMy cat suffers from IBS. For several months now the diarrhea and vomiting escalated. I am so grateful for this product! Not many stores in my area carry this item and I understand it is fairly new, about one year? I hope this review will help others discover the benefits and "miracle" this product has brought to my cat's health situation and perhaps help other cats. Diet does matter. Thank you Diamond Pet Foods for this wonderful product.
