An LID that my dog likes to eat and is affordable!

Changed food due to a mast cell cancer and allergy testing. Changed to a limited ingredient diet to minimize th chance of a histamine release as much as possible. Oscar eats it and it has improved his stool as well. His face is less yeasty and the cost is affordable compared to the high end foods.

Elderly dog that wouldn’t eat anything, LOVED this

All my dogs have eaten taste of the wild for last 12 years. I bought puppy and nature logic was recommended by a food store. I did not agree with him. He kept having stomach, intestinal, and gland issues. I went back to taste of the wild and eventhough my pup poops 3 times a day he has not had any gland issues.

My Boston Terrier has a sensitive belly but loves to eat so I need a limited ingredient recipe. This works for him and we look forward to dinner and mom loves a full nights sleep! 👍🏼

My dog has never been healthier
4 June 2018

We've been feeding our 11-year-old large mixed breed rescue dog Taste of the Wild for over five years. Last year, she had a torn ACL and required surgery. It was a very difficult recovery, and the combination of the stress from surgery, the medications she was on, the metal in her body, and other factors just sent her immune system haywire. She struggled with horribly inflamed skin and chewed herself raw, creating a giant hotspot over the entire back half of her body. She had never even had a single hot spot before that, and we were just beside ourselves. Antibiotics, steroids, creams, baths, e-collars, donut collars, along with doggie pajamas that covered every inch of her skin... for eight months we fought this intense skin reaction. She had never even had a single hot spot before that, and we were just beside ourselves. Antibiotics, steroids, creams, baths, e-collars, donut collars, along with doggie pajamas that covered every inch of her skin... for eight months we fought this intense skin reaction. We even considered euthanasia at one point because she was so miserable, so infected with secondary staph, and we were just out of options. Until I decided to try a strict limited diet. We threw away all of her yummy treats, no more "accidental" drops of food from our toddler's dinner plate, and moved her over to Taste of the Wild Prey exclusively. This was honestly last ditch effort to save our dog's life. We had tried everything else. Within a week it seemed like her red skin and the blisters on her belly were reduced. By two weeks, hair was growing back where she'd had none for months. By one month, we decided to test removing the donut collar. By three months she was pajama-free for the first time in almost a year. Now she's got beautiful skin, a beautiful coat, and is healthy and happy. She enjoys her walks, she loves her mealtimes, and she loves her life. I'm so thankful to have found this food and I know without a doubt the turkey prey formula saved our dog's life.

My senior dog has allergy issues
21 April 2018

I recently started feeding TOTW Prey turkey to my senior dog with a chicken allergy. She recently suffered a bout of severe diarrhea (cause unknown) and had to be seen for treatment. I took that opportunity to discuss her diet with her vet and make a diet change. I learned that the 30% protein in TOTW Prey turkey formula is appropriate for my senior and that turkey is very digestible. I like the lentils for a binder rather than potatoes or sweet potatoes. My dog hasn't been getting this diet very long, but she seems to be tolerating it very well. I'm very hopeful that I can maintain her on it.

My two dogs really like this variety

I have been feeding my two Keeshond's Taste of the Wild since they where puppies. They are 8 now. They started with the Taste of the Wild Salmon Puppy food. Now I have started giving them the Turkey Limited Ingredient Recipe to help them maintain their weight.

Terrible DO NOT FEED THIS TO YOUR DOGS
9 February 2022

This is grain free and the 2nd ingredients is Lentils. Just do some research and find out how many dogs are developing DCM from this food. The FDA lists this food as the third worse. My dog has developed DCM and this is the only food I fed him. BAD!!! And this company will not return my phone calls or emails

Thank you

While I have already sent a thank you email to the company, I wanted to make sure everyone knew how happy I am with this formula. My 14 1/2 year old shih-poo has always been a very picky eater. A few months ago, she suffered pyometra and spend the better part of 2 weeks in the vet's. They could not get her to eat and I spent everyday there trying to get her to eat. All she wanted was turkey baby food and baked turkey breast. She didn't want any kibble. I requested a sample of the Prey Turkey (our other girls eat the Southwest Canyon), and she could not stop eating it from the moment I offered it to her. She lost 1/3 of her body weight during that time, but now she is back to normal weight and eating every kibble at every meal. Was good until it wasn't
29 January 2023

We had been feeding the salmon version of this food until his allergies started to get worse, then I checked the bag and TOTW had started using chicken...so we switched to the turkey. And now this has chicken in it too and the dog has had diahrrea for a week. So I guess we'll find something else...Why put one of the most common allergens in a limited ingredient food??
