I used this for the first time on doors and trims. The finish is amazing for a water based product Check photos.Great gloss coverage and very easy to clean and apply.Used it over Taubmans 3 in 1 undercoat. So all door and trims were udercoated first and then Enamel over that.Recommended to me by a painter fried. Used foam roller for application and went on smooth as silk

Bought this last week and applied it over a fading gloss white which I went over with a 120 grit to prep the surface. The taubmans paint flows well, with a good brush of course, gives a pleasant bright white and looks good, when covering a clean white prepped surface, but even with a long and solid stirring it does not cover as well as I'd hoped and needs at least 3 coats on some areas.

I love the glossy, enamel finish of this paint, and have used the white for all my skirting boards, door frames and window frames. There is a bit of a learning curve associated with using this paint because it starts drying very quickly once applied, so if you over-work it, you'll get a blobby texture from the partially-dried sections, which can be annoying. The best way to avoid this is by using three or four quick, light coats - waiting for each coat to dry well before applying the next.I'm really happy with the results I've had and would not select any other paint/finish for the areas I've used this on.

Painted my kitchen doors firstly with a primer - no worries. Then used this paint with monument tint. Allowed two days to dry and it was still tacky. Gave it a second coat and it's stick tacky after another 2 days, one of those outside in the sun on a 28deg C day.
Had high hopes for this paint but unfortunately it did not deliver. Just to paint a door required 6 coats! The paint is too ‘thin’ and dries quickly which means you constantly get roller marks in the finish. I’m no paint expert but I think a paint that is thicker and dries slower would be better suited.
This is some very easy to use paint. This is both in terms of it's consistency and wase of application via roller. I will say though, coloured variants must be mixed very, very thoroughly (recommend drill mixer) and tend to separate quite rapidly (i.e. require mixing again) to the extent that it is pointless setting up a large tray of paint and cling wrapping it to complete painting in another session hours apart. Only pour what you can paint in one session. I found it less prone to the fast drying 'stickyness' that made it want to attract fibres from the roller than some high gloss paints. [Touch] drying time was reasonable to get work done in, but not excessive so I could happily move pieces if I needed (I was painting MDF sheets/ pine panels/etc.). [Touch] drying time was reasonable to get work done in, but not excessive so I could happily move pieces if I needed (I was painting MDF sheets/ pine panels/etc.). It also was easier on my sensitive nose, as I did not get a nose bleed even once (I was working in a ventilated garage space with this and previous water based acrylic paints - I can be oddly sensitive to such things). The colours I received matched my expectations. Could do with a tiny bit more range, eg. I didn't see a decent white based teal? eg. Similar to Provence, but slightly more green.Overall, do I recommend this paint? Absolutely, yes I do. I would buy it again. I will probably buy other Taubmans bases though so I can get the colours I want. I bought the white base because it was on promotion at the time. The worst thing about it and the only real negative is the quick separation of colour issue which makes the paint require very, very frequent (few hours) mixing, that means you can not ever prepare and draw more paint than you are using in one session. This is ok for me as I am very good at guesstimating how much I need per task; this could be an issue for someone who is not and may overestimate the amount. Otherwise it's a perfectly good, easy to apply, easy in the senses water based enamel paint with a slight gloss sheen. It's good.
Excellent, product will only use this now
Just used this on my old cupboards and doors. They came up a treat. I would recommend giving the paint tin a really good stir as it's very thick at the bottom. Paint is very thick and I wet my brush slightly for the first coat, some needed 2 coats others 3 it depended on how much water I had on brush. I'm very happy with this product, just don't forget to stir paint thoroughly to the very bottom of tin :)
After a less than satisfactory experience with British Paints Paint&Prime Doors Windows and Trim, I tried out Taubmans. The difference is really significant.Taubmans has better opacity than the British, so you are only going to need to do 2 coats as opposed to 3 or 4. You still need to prime on new surfaces though, or you will find you need a third coat.As usual with MDF, make sure you sand the "endgrain" after the primer to achieve a smoother finish. Tip: You can use jointing compound to fill accidental gouges from a chisel, it sands very smooth and sticks well..As usual with enamel paints, don't fiddle with it after laying off. I did find the Taubmans to be more forgiving than the British if you are like me and can't leave things alone.I did spend a long ... MoreAfter a less than satisfactory experience with British Paints Paint&Prime Doors Windows and Trim, I tried out Taubmans. This is only a little more expensive so I'd rather pay more for the better paint.Oil based enamel - A smoother and easier finish but I didn't want the cleanup complexity or the yellowingUltimate Enamel - Smoother and easier finish but yellowsI'll be using this Water Based Enamel again.
plenty of coverage with this paint. Very happy and other Taubmans products ate also good. Water-based clean up worth it for saving time. Buy it
