I was instantly in love with this pedal. The tone print app compatibility issue with my phone was disappointing however. This effect is great and powerful but it isn't like the classic fender tremolo so I will still probably get a traditional style tremolo. The only true shortfall with this pedal that I have discovered is that I wish the speed could get about 20 percent faster into the stupid fast realm. This pedal is amazing with a bass guitar as well. Despite the cons this is my favorite pedal.

Fantastic Univibe. Factory settings are great and the toneprint phone ap and function just take it over the top. They really got the the throb and warble and top shimmer without becoming too throaty or phasey. I hate it when a univibe or clone sound like a half cocked wah pedal and the adjustments on the Viscous Vibe allow you to tailor the tone to your own taste. For years I wondered why no one had cloned the perfect Univibe with digital and now they have. tc electronic... Nailed it! MM

This is a great sounding phaser pedal but it is NOT a 1:1 Univibe sound. Obviously the people that say it sounds like an original Univibe have never owned an original. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the the stereo features of this pedal and it's phaser sound - plus the good price - but I gave it 4 stars because they refer to it as a 1:1 recreation of an original Univibe. Not true. Go to your favorite video sharing website and watch the Official Demo of this pedal - even in this video it does not have a Univibe sound and it is quite obvious! btw - I play thru a Strat and Marshalls. Does it sound like Hendrix :Machine Gun? Sorry - no. Bottom line : try it before you buy it - you'll love it but not for what TC Electronics says.

I was really hoping that this would finally be the affordable Univibe option that I have been looking for.... it isn't. Although this pedal has some sort of usable Univibe-type sounds, this comes at a price. For me, I experienced two things that I found with it that bothered me enough to just return it.First, when the pedal is engaged, it kills some of your high end tone. It almost sounded like someone put a blanket over my speaker cabinet. After seeing and hearing all of the satisfied TC Electronic user experiences out there, I totally did not expect this. I even tried to move it around to different locations on my pedal board, to no avail.Secondly, when you hit the switch to turn off the effect, it stays on for a full 2 seconds AFTER you turn it off. Unless you're planning to record with it and demand the best you can get, this will work well. In a live performance the audience will never know the difference between this and a $500.00 vibe. The ability to tweak the pedal with tone print is great. You can only store one tone print at a time, but to load another only takes maybe 10 sec. with a phone. I have wanted a Vibe pedal for a long time! And always wanted an MXR univibe...however I use a lot of TC electronic on my board and when I found this gem I just had to have it! TC never let me down they make some of the best pedals out there! This pedal is fantastic and re creates all the vintage vibe sounds I was after! TC electronic will forever be on my board!
These things produce nice sound....when they work. Had mine for about two months, not used every day or even every time I played and the footswitch broke. It's not a typical footswitch button and cannot be replaced by me. It can be send back to manufacturer for repair but the cost to do so is not worth the time and effort. From what I understand the switch is mounted to a pc board and cannot easily be changed out. TC Electronics uses their own special buttons. Not a great design as I found out. I now have removed the button and use a toothpick or something to stick in the hole to activate the pedal. OK for home playing but on stage it would not be. Nice sound though...if it works.
Pretty awesome sounds but there are a few issues that are hard to overlook.1) When you turn the pedal on it almost takes a second for the the "Speed" to catch up to where it needs to be and is delayed.2) When switching the pedal off the effect still continues on for about 1.5-2 seconds. I still think its cool and has its place but yeah out of everyone that "LOVES" this pedal no-one seems to mention any of those issues. weird. Not sure what vibe type pedal I'm gonna go with. (i play live and record and do band stuff like every other guitar monkey out there so you don't have to take it from me, but I would plug into this one first and check it out before you buy it. I watched a lot of videos online before purchasing. There are many Uni-vibe style pedals available. Some can cost 2 to 3 times more than this one. It has 3 different modes. Chorus, Tone Print, and Vibrato. Each one has it's own unique sound, all being useable. In addition to that swirling, motion like sound it smooths out your picking attack to some degree. This makes for very fluid leads. This is the best way to describe the sound I get out of this pedal. Works well with other effects and the price was very reasonable. T C Electronic quality is so far excellent. It's definitely a keeper..
I enjoy the old uni vibe sound. So bought one of these. I LIKE IT...This is a robust high quality unit and it is very easy to dial in sound you want. This pedal is clean clear and made home recording a breeze. I will point out that the tonal and clarity is greater the the old uni vibe's and for that reason a winner for me.
