32" Roku TV with 1080p -- Don't hesitate to buy!

A BIG plus for me on this TV is the over-the-air Digital TV tuner -- it shows a full complete channel guide of the over-the-air antenna broadcast shows that are available. I was STUNNED by this -- I've NEVER had a digital TV take the channel guide to this level of detail! The other nice thing is that if you need to change input sources on your TV, it is done graphically rather than with a bunch of tedious buttons on your remote. You also have the ability to change the input name from (in my case) HDMI 1 to Blu Ray Player (press the * button when the input name is higlighted), so you don't need to guess what device is on that input. All in all, a very well thought-out TV. The ONLY complaint I have is with the Roku remote -- I wish that small little thing had the ability to control the functions on my Blu Ray player -- so I still have to use the manufacturer remote for that. Oh, well, I narrowed my system from THREE remotes down to two, so that's an improvement! Buy a Roku TV, you won't regret it.

The tv worked for about 30 minutes, then the screen went black. I had to unplug the tv and plug it back in to get the screen to come on. It’s happened 5 times now, and I just bought the tv yesterday. It happened at different time intervals and while doing different things: twice while organizing the channels around and three times while watching a show. The volume is still working, and you can hear the show playing, but just a black screen. I did a Google search to see why. It said to check the hdmi cable. I don’t have an hdmi cable plugged in at all, since this is a roku tv. The only plug is the electricity, and everything is internal, so I’m thinking I got a lemon of a tv. Taking it back! And I won’t be buying this brand again.

I paired my dish remote with the television but it is only good to turn it off and on and use for the dish, you can't use it to move from one app to another, so you always have to alternate with the two remotes. It's a nice little tv, especially for the price, but I would suggest that when you turned it on, it would go automatically to whatever you were previously watching whether it be dish, Roku tv, or whatever. and then if you wanted to change you could go to the home screen and switch to something different. I also noticed that a few times the sound did not come on with the program and you had to switch channels in order for the sound to come back on. So I don't know if that's going to be a recurring problem or not. I am happy with all the different channels that you get with the digital antenna and also the Roku channels, there's quite a variety if you don't have the option of having cable. It is a nice feature but I just think it's a little complicated for the elderly.

Good TV with some shortcomings
21 September 2023

Overall, this is a good smart TV with the ROKU operating system and Full HD (1080P) resolution. The picture quality is very good, but the sound is just OK, mandating a sound bar. The cheap IR remote has to be pointed at the TV to work and lacks voice control, so I had to spend an extra $20 to get a ROKU RF voice remote. The viewing angle is very narrow, so you have to have to sit straight in front of the TV, which is fine for me since I watch it will riding a stationary bicycle trainer. The processor is very slow, so it takes several seconds for the TV to respond to the remote when launching Apps or returning Home. It is also very slow to start. I'm satisfied with the purchase, but not overly enthusiastic.

Great Function, Great Value

I have three TCL TV's that replaced other televisions (55" Sony, 55" Panasonic and a 32" Visio) in various rooms in the house. They are all internet connected and are used for streaming. The Visio's (have had two 32") are real weak in the internet connectivity department and I had many issues with web streaming dropping off when not next to the router, even with extenders. My TCL TV's completely cleared that issue up and I have no problems connecting and staying connected. My TCL's are all ROKU platform streaming, which I prefer. My bedroom and RV are 32" TCL's and my Livingroom television is a 55".Be aware, some ROKU platform TCL TV's have had issues and develope a life of their own. I had to return my Family room 55" TCL ROKU as a result and wound up with a Samsung 55".My Livingroom 55" TCL was less expensive than my Family Room Samsung 55" by several hundred dollars but is every bit as good in the function, picture and sound department as the more expensive Samsung. Both are great TV's but the TCL was a much better value for the creature features that you got. Sound quality is about what you would expect for a TV of this size. I use sound bars with sub woofers on all but my bedroom televisionsI had a 40" TCL in an RV I purchased in 2017. I thought it would be a cheapo because RV manufacturers typically put the cheapest electronics they can find in their products for cost savings. I was pleasantly surprised with the television selection.I upgraded my RV in 2021 (same manufacturer) and it also had a TCL of the 32" variety. It's been trouble free and connects well with my DISH tailgater and campground cable tv.IMPO, the TCL brand would be a welcome, reasonably priced, well appointed addition to any room in anyones home home or RV.

Excellent streaming TV for the price. I do wish these TVs still had a wide base instead of the wobbly feet. I can still get my live TV %26 cable channels; however, I am worried about not getting any TV if the Wi-Fi or Internet doesn't connect. Regular TV, I didn't have to worry about it. I also prefer to have the sleep timer or menu buttons on the remote so I don't have to search for the proper screen on the ROKU to set the timer. I also miss the info button that tells me what channel I'm watching %26 the time. Also, some of the streaming channels cut off the end of the show you're watching. Not great

I thought this would be a great TV since the brand is the official partner of the NFL, but I didn't think it was very good quality. I found the colour poor. The best way to describe it is it looked faded when not looking at the TV straight on. I spent some time changing the settings to warm, but the picture wasn't even as nice as my 15 year old TV. The sound also wasn't great, but when you turn the sound setting to Bass it sounded good. The light at the bottom is white when the TV is off, but still plugged in, and I agree with another review that it's VERY BRIGHT. If this TV was in your bedroom it would be hard to ignore the light when going to sleep. I exchanged it for the Philips FHD Roku TV 32" 32PFL6573/F6 which is the same price and I like it much better. I have tried every thing to fix it on my own and even called TCL tech support. After spending 45 minutes on the phone with the Philippines tech support, nothing worked. For example, when I would change the volume, the lag time for it to start changing was about 5 seconds or more. Once it changed, then it was more responsive, but this is a constant thing. There are times when accessing the streaming apps, it would take quite awhile to load compared to my other brand Roku tv's in the house. I believe this model of TCL tv has a very slow processing unit in it. I would not buy it again and I would not buy it based upon the support from TCL. We bought two of the same model tv and the other one is still in the box because they were a good deal and because of the whole Roku/Spectrum squabble, we never used it. I am afraid that stealing it from my wife (was hers to use) and using it will result in the same issue down the road. I will most likely end up replacing the replacement down the road and buying my wife a new one. Our purchases will definitely NOT be TCL.
