Still trying to isolate the problem, but this tv doesn't seem to support screen mirroring. Despite being a Google TV, it doesn't come up on either my phone or PC as available to cast to.Found a couple of unappealing workarounds so far: 1. I plugged in my old Roku stick. Works fine but shouldn't be necessary. 2. Cast via Youtube. Only works for YT and I don't think it's true mirroring. 3. I got it to work through Google Home somehow for my phone, but not PC. 4. Cast to the neighbors' Samsung (which actually has these features that you'd expect for the last decade), but they don't seem to like it.I'll also add that the remote doesn't have a jump back button or ff/rw/play buttons. I am really enjoying my new TV! My old one took a crap after 15 years of excessive viewing so I definitely needed a new one. This one suited my budget and needs perfectly. It arrived quickly, a day sooner than stated which was very appreciated. The set up was quick and easy and I'm 71 and not tech savvy. The picture is awesome, very big and vivid as heck. I had to do some adjustments on the colors because the people on it looked clowish but once I got that sorted out it was perfect. The TCL 43” Q Class 4K UHD QLED Smart TV with Google TV is perfect for my home! We love watching movies on the weekends and an episode or two of a show each night. Our house is quaint, so we prefer a modest size television. It was time to upgrade our smaller, five year old TV and this was an excellent improvement. There are several different picture options depending on what you’re watching and they are worth adjusting each time you turn on something new for the appropriate type of video quality. The google tv voice feature on the remote is awesome. I guess some could consider it slow, but it’s searching through all my apps to play from the right spot. Sometimes I know exactly what I want on, so I can tell it what to do and walk away. It’s great. There are a lot of ... Nothing has crashed or frozen (which used to happen a lot with my old tv). Setting it up was a little tricky. It struggled staying connecting to the internet which make setup time take longer than anticipated. But once you get through setup, you run a firmware update and it’s good to go. It hasn’t disconnected from WiFi since. It’s too big for my old TV mount, but I know when I get a new one installed, it will look perfect on my living room wall. The remote it came with is a good size. I like that it’s sleek but large enough to not get lost in my couch the second I set it down! It has one touch app buttons, voice control/google tv and they are going to get a lot of mileage. I’m really happy with it all in all and hope it lasts many years.

TCL 55" Q6-Series 4K UHD HDR QLED Smart Google TV (55Q651G-CA) - 2024It has decent picture and sound quality, after some initial adjustments. The big problem for me is the terrible time lag between the clicking the remote and the result on screen. Moving back and forth in a movie, for example, can throw you out of the film altogether, after waiting - and waiting - and waiting... There's nothing additional plugged into the TV, and no memory overload - it's new. There is no onboard browser. The apps offer a few. Great picture quality, My reason for Not 5 stars is as follows- I have a home theater setup and am very disappointed with the Google streaming app. I connected the toslink audio out to my receiver and the Google streaming app only sends in 2ch stereo. The HDMI-connected and air TV devices will pass through the encoded surround channel encoding through the toslink.. So if you have a external speaker setup and you are paying for Hulu, Peacock, Netflix, etc or any streaming service that streams in Digital Surround, or Atmos you aren't getting it. You have to use a pseudo surround of Nero 6 or Dolby PLII. The only way to get streaming surround is to get an HDMI Dongle at least on TCL SMART TV with Google Streaming. While I don't know for sure about TCL SMART TVs equipped with ROKU streaming, I would assume it would be the same deal of just getting 2-channel transmission through the optical out toslink to external speakers and theater setups. While not a deal breaker, it is a disappointment and I want people with external sound system setups to be aware of this limitation in using any of the streaming services built into this TV. If you don't have an external sound system setup this TV will meet all your expectations as the built-in sound does just fine in being clear and with good volume, but don't expect any wow factor no matter what setting you put on it
Pretty sure we paid around $350.00 for our Toshiba 26” CRT (picture tube) (no, really) HDTV. When the picture started folding over on itself at the top of the screen, we replaced it with a 42” Westinghouse for about the same price. It started developing the dreaded hot spots. One was tolerable but two were impossible to ignore. My chin is still smarting from dropping when I saw the price for this TCL 43” set. I skipped setting it up for Google TV and didn’t even unwrap the remote control because my GE universal remote by Jasco works perfectly. The second code on their list works all of the necessary buttons. The TV supports two-way control with the Roku Ultra. You can turn it off from the Roku home screen and turn it back on by waking up the Roku Ultra.Setup was no-brainer simple, and if you turn on more bells and whistles than you want, a factory reset doesn’t take that long. It’s a keeper!
This is a budget television with enough features that will please most people at its particularly low price point. First off the packaging is extensive enough and gets an A+. The TV is super thin and light weight, only weighing 14.6 pounds. Navigating through the menu of the Google OS is smooth as can be on this TV, which I can say, isn’t quite the case on my Hisense U7N, a step above this TV in overall terms of quality. As far as the picture goes the images are high quality. Anything HD, Full HD, or 4K/4K HDR looks really good for the most part. I will say though the images will lack in depth as far as contrast ratios and brightness are concerned. This TV doesn’t get nearly as bright as mid range or higher end models. You will notice this moreso in outdoor scenes ... Anything HD, Full HD, or 4K/4K HDR looks really good for the most part. I will say though the images will lack in depth as far as contrast ratios and brightness are concerned. This TV doesn’t get nearly as bright as mid range or higher end models. You will notice this moreso in outdoor scenes in movies/tv shows. You will not see bright specular highlights reflecting off various objects. It still gets bright enough to fight off some glare from various light sources in rooms including sunlight.I would like to comment that the controller fits in my hand well and the TV responds quickly to my button presses. Also the Quantum Dot color is vibrant. As far as negatives go though, I will say there will be some noticeable issues concerning motion hiccups, the blurring of small images in sports such as the football/soccerball/baseball, also issues with banding/macroblocking/artifacting. There is an option in the menu to smooth out digital noise/film grain to various extents while retaining certain degrees of image detail. I would also like to express that this TV isn’t good for having wider seating arrangements featuring more than 2 or 3 people. The quality of the image degrades as you start to move off angle just a few degrees or so.One more thing I’ll touch upon is the sound. Me personally I like the surround sound experience. You can achieve this partially by having Dolby Atoms enabled. I also turned the bass all the weigh up. It does sound decent and definitely adds an extra layer of dimension. However if you want better bass, a better sounding center channel, and better sounding Dolby Atoms/surround sound, I’d go with at least a 3.1.2 soundbar. So finally, I’ll conclude, the bottom line is that this TV will impress most casual viewers while also satisfying even your more fine tuned TV enthusiasts, due to value/quality/price. I would definitely go get this for a guest bedroom, a smaller size, or even a living room, one of the larger 50 plus inch sizes. This TV shouldn’t disappoint! When comparing this TV to some of my more higher end TVs, including my LG C2, Samsung QN90A, and Hisense U7N, I’ll rank this giving it a 4/5 stars. Overall at this particular price point and for all that you get, I’ll easily give it a 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I'm also game developer, and part of my job is to design and code User Interfaces--I know what I'm doing, and I know when something like this is fundamentally broken.I've never been so angry over a product that should be exceeding simple to get right. This is inexcusable (in this day and age) and TCL does NOT deserve your money.
Wow, what a buy for the price.
