After about the second month of having this as my boot drive I noticed windows kept getting slower and slower load times and slowing performance. Now at 10 months, it still boots into windows, but does not save any additional data. It is like it is stuck at a certain point. You cannot delete anything or store anything else. Checkdisk shows errors and other tools cannot correct the problems on the drive. Even formatting it doesn't do anything. No info can be changed on the drive, like its locked. It has also got incredibly slow. Overall, not a good purchase. It has been replaced with a WD Black drive and the new drives performance is way faster than this ever was, even when it was working correctly. I would not recommend buying this product.

The SSD I got is just totally unusable. It appears to be able to handle normal speeds in spikes, and then freezes for 2-8 seconds, over and over, whether reading or writing. Somehow crystal disk mark makes it produce normal looking speeds. But when downloading games, copying files, or opening applications, it seems random whether it will work or be so extremely sluggish you would think the computer was just broken. The "average response time" is nice and low (<5ms) during the spikes where it actually works. But at all other times it's just how long it's been since a spike, so usually between 1500-4000ms

I have an Acer Swift 3, which has both SATA HDD & M2 Intel Optane 16GB. I bought this after I read the latest review (2020) of SSD to try this brand Team Group for its price performance. I got this on sale at Newegg a couple of weeks ago. I used this so that my computer can run faster. I replaced the Intel Optane 16GB with this SSD and transferred my Window OS to the new drive. I bought this as a replacement for a rotating hard drive in a few years old laptop. It only supports SATA and I wasn't looking for the fastest SSD. I just wanted something that would remove storage as a bottleneck in a machine that as constantly waiting on I/O. After cloning my old drive and swapping them, it seemed to run great. After waking from sleep the machine BSOD'ed. Upon rebooting the SSD wouldn't boot Windows or respond at all except throwing read errors. I returned it to TEAM for a replacement and that took WEEKS. (Apparently their US branch doesn't stock replacements and it had to come from Taiwan.) Upon repeating the cloning with the replacement, it had the same issues. TEAM never suggested any of this and just replaced my original even though they should have known about this issue/workaround. I'd bet dollars to donuts this wouldn't be a problem if TEAM would update the firmware for these, but that doesn't seem to be a concern for them as much as pushing out the most cheap trash as they can. There is no useful support info on their website and the only downloadable is cheap skin over smartmontools and CrystalDiskMark. I only give this "two eggs" because it seems to be functional in a USB enclosure as portable/external storage. It might also be useful as a secondary drive, but I didn't bother to experiment anymore after I replaced this with a Black Friday deal on a Crucial MX500. STAY AWAY!!!
It was worth the buy when I bought it. Haven't had it die on me and my system boots really fast on it. Had been holding out on getting a ssd for a while and now I don't think I want to buy another hdd again. Might go with a different brand when I get one with more storage when I upgrade again tho.
I recommend this for people who want to switch their os from their hard drive to an ssd. So far, there have been no problems whatsoever and booting up my pc is a lot faster now. I should've done this years ago! Great value SSD at fast speeds! Update: After quick researching, this SSD does not has DRAM. It still boots up quickly but it's not that consistent. Some days, it boots up within 10 seconds. On other days, I had to wait at least 30 seconds until my pc was fully loaded.
I got this to combine two older 2.5" SSD's into one in order to save space, power and drive bays. I expected no more performance than the older SATA II drives, only the increased storage, lower power and space savings. It serves the purpose that I got it for and it works well as what I call a "2nd run drive" which I use to install programs (secondary) that I would want to remain on a drive if Windows 10 should have issues or when I have to reinstall Windows 10 just to 'activate' it because I had the nerve to want to buy a new motherboard!!! I also use it to install videogames or other, secondary software that takes up more space and when max speed on the drive won't impact performance. I do know what I kept a PC in storage for about a year with an SSD drive, and everything was as it was once hooked up. Reliability is what I need. This is a great purchase for the price if storage is the order. Use your NVME for the primary drive. In the future, I look to see more M.2 ports on MB's and even some built into the MB. I think there may be some now. They save physical space.
My son's computer was being held hostage by an old spinning disk HDD. I got him this 1TB M.2 SSD (and a new MB and CPU) to help update him. I booted to thumb drive (Windows tool) with both old and new drives. Put a fresh install of Win10 on this SSD and then after start up I had internet connection and went to activate (chose I got new hardware) and BOOM done. Found everything easily, worked flawlessly and his PC is WORLDs better now. It is almost night and day difference. Would recommend to ANYONE with the M.2 slot that has any SATA cable connected drive.

Unless the item I received was defective, this company is knowingly selling faulty devices that will lead to data loss.
Twenty dollars cheaper than nearest item. Cloned my 17 HP Envy Win 10 m.2 SATA SSD to it without problem,; this drive works quickly and flawlessly. Will buy another. and use it with an external enclosure to boot a Win 7 OS into the Envy. Would ABSOLUTELY recommend this
