With the Tefal LOV low Dutch oven 28cm Green, you can make stews for 3 or 4 people. Make a delicious hash or simmer meat, for example. The Dutch oven has a useful condensation lid. Thanks to the bumps on the inside of the lid, the moisture stays inside in the pan, so you get an extra tender result. The pan is also suitable for slow cooking. That's because the pan retains heat well thanks to the thick base. You can use this Dutch oven on all heat sources, also on induction and in the oven up to 250°C. Want to discover new recipes? This shallow casserole from Tefal is a good example of enamelled cast iron, and has proven easy to use and clean. I've made a variety of dishes so far, from chow mein to one-pot lasagne, and it has worked well for them all. It is thicker and heavier than other enamelled pots that I own and as a result takes longer to heat up, but it does retain the heat well once preheated. After doing the lasagne there was a lot of burnt on residue round the sides, but this all came off easily after a brief soak and the enamel was shiny and scratch-free. I didn't like the fact that the manual said you can't put it in the fridge - one of the main perks of enamelled cast iron is that it can go from hob to oven to table to fridge, so I'm not really happy about this aspect and haven't ... MoreThis shallow casserole from Tefal is a good example of enamelled cast iron, and has proven easy to use and clean. Also the RRP is hefty at £190. For this price I'd rather buy an established premium brand. However it performs well and I'm more than happy to use it as an everyday "workhorse" pot.

This is a great sized pot for a family of four. It is great for cooking dishes that need a large even cooking surface. The pot and lid are quite heavy so care needs to be taken when handling, especially when hot. Food cooked evenly but because it gets so hot, cooking times may need to be adjusted as some food burnt on the bottom. The pan is extremely easy to wash. The lid provides a great seal that prevents and cooking moisture escaping and pooling on the cooker. Overall, a versatile addition to the kitchen.

The shallowpot is a heavy piece of cookware but it is also a high quality one. It is sturdy and made of iron, and comes with a lid. The shallowpot will last you years if used well. The shallowpot can be used in ovens and the hob. I used it on my gas hob (the oven sadly stopped working) and the pot warmed up quickly. Food didn’t stick to it and it washed well. It’s quite heavy so wasn’t the most convenient to wash by hand. I think the 28cm can cook for a family of 5-6 so the size was good. I can see myself make lasagne and other baked dishes easily. One can cook on the hob and put it in the oven which makes it a one pot dish. The terracotta colour looks a bit bland though. Wish it was more vibrant and colourful. All in all, I would highly recommend the Lov ... MoreThe shallowpot is a heavy piece of cookware but it is also a high quality one. This is a great pot, that I used in different ways to make an amazing meal that the family loved. I started by browning onions and mushroom on the hon; then added minced beef to the pot. Once cooked off I added tomato purée and passata; and simmered for 15 minutes. I then stirred in cooked pasta. Finally I topped with grated Parmesan and Cheddar and put the pot in to the oven for 10 minutes. The dish was delicious and could all be done in 1 pot. The pot was also really easy to clean. When I’ve made this in Pyrex dish before, we’ve had to soak the dish to clean. This pot cleaned easily with hot soapy water.
There is no getting away from it, this item is heavy but it is something I have wanted to try for a long time, as it can be transferred directly from the hob straight into the over, and it did not disappoint.I have an induction hob and the pot heats up quickly, cooks evenly, and with it having a large base also cooks quickly. When I first used this I was nervous about how easily it could be cleaned as with cooking over a couple of hours in the oven you always get the "dried up" bits around the edge of the pot which appear to be attached by super glue. I didn't want to put this in the dishwasher due to its weight so washed it in the sink and to my surprise after only submerging it in hot soapy water for a couple of minutes the "dried up" bits around the edges were ... MoreThere is no getting away from it, this item is heavy but it is something I have wanted to try for a long time, as it can be transferred directly from the hob straight into the over, and it did not disappoint.I have an induction hob and the pot heats up quickly, cooks evenly, and with it having a large base also cooks quickly. When I first used this I was nervous about how easily it could be cleaned as with cooking over a couple of hours in the oven you always get the "dried up" bits around the edge of the pot which appear to be attached by super glue. I’m absolutely in love with my shallowpot. It’s so handy having a pot that I can use on the stove and then pop in the oven. This makes cooking and clean up so much easier. Plus it’s such a beautiful looking pot it looks lovely on the middle of my dining table as a centrepiece. I’ve made a variety of meats, pasta bakes and a shakshuka so far and I really think it tastes better compared to using a non stick pot. Knowing it’s excellent quality with a 20 year guarantee also gives me peace of mind. It is a little heavy as it is cast iron so keep this in mind when thinking about using this item.
I love this pot so much, it's gorgeous to look at so taken pride of place on my shelves for everyone to see. It's great quality although it is a bit heavy which is worth noting if you struggle lifting heavy pans, for me though it just shows the quality.I've struggled to find a pan that goes from hob to oven for my induction hob, but this does so easily and doesn't look "boring" like most induction pansThe big selling factor for me though is it's made from reclaimed iron, so really sustainable. I think it's great, brilliant kitchen staple
The design of the shallowpot is robust yet sleek. It transferred from gas hob to oven with ease and the food cooked to perfection. I have so far used it for casseroles and slow cooked beef. I usually use a pressure cooker for these recipes but the shallowpot intensified the flavours of the food and sauce. The slow cooked beef fell off the bone - perfect. When cooking on the hob, it was easy to check the progress of the cooking because the handle remained cool enough to touch to remove the lid. Despite being oven baked for a considerable period, the pot was easy to clean and looked as good as new again. Love the fact that it is made from 97% recycled materials and that the packaging and pot are also completely recyclable. Great product and worth the cost.
I have been using this for the past week and loved it! It's a solid and heavy thing. I have been cooking curry and stews in it and they have come out absolutely great. I have been able to batch cook and keep some of the food for meals later in the week as well. It is a fantastic pot and works well on the hob as well in the oven. It's fairly easy to clean. I found filling it with hot soapy and water and putting it back in the oven helped. The leftover heat from cooking freed it up.It is a very welcome addition to my kitchen and will get regular use. I am looking forward to trying more recipes and ideas.
Used this pot to make a butternut risotto - amazing! I cooked the butternut in it first, and then just cooked the risotto and it didn’t stick, burn or catch at all. I would never normally use this sort of pot for this sort of cooking - risotto sometimes sticks - but this will now be my go to pot.I haven’t used it for a stew yet, but I can imagine it will be perfect. It regulates temperature really well, the lid doesn’t get too hot, yet it cooks really quickly. Plus, it’s a beautiful looking pot.Going to use it to cook fajitas later, and I know we will need less oil, so making cooking healthier. Would highly recommend.
