When I contacted them about the brown spots issue and my dissatisfaction with the product, they were quick to address my concerns and offered a full refund without any hassle. Kudos to their customer service team for handling the situation professionally.However, even with the refund, I'm still left with the disappointment of a failed purchase. I'm back to using my old iron now, which might not be perfect, but at least it doesn't leave ugly stains on my clothes. It is well designed; the tip of the iron is pointed so that it easily glides through creases and it has a sizeable soleplate. I have the GV9812 model. The iron is really effective, 8.1 bar steam is very strong. We thought that the led on the front would be useless, but it is also useful, it allows you to easily notice the creases. There are three-stage ironing settings and in the normal setting, the creases of the shirts are opened very easily in one go. It glides on the fabric easily without an effort. I can say that it is also successful for cotton style dresses. Ironing that used to take more than an hour is now less than half an hour. The only difference from its top model, the GV9820, is that it does not have a smart ironing feature, but this is not a problem for me. The only downside is that the water tank is small. Overall I highly recommend it.

The steam shuts off when the iron is in an upright position, starting again when it's horizontal. Loved that function! The iron itself wasn't too heavy and the light function was so useful for seeing little creases I probably wouldn't have noticed otherwise. I have used a tefal steam generator iron for years. I unfortunately dropped my pro express care model and I replaced with the GV9820. Why change the design which worked so well and have now made it difficult to use.Design faults - the plug does not retract as per the pro express.- impossible to get the steam lead into the hideaway track which was easy with the pro express-the mode button of the iron is situated where you hold the handle of the iron. I kept on accidentally changing the mode, so irritating.Does any one get to test these design changes?..However it does steam beautifully, just a few swear words while ironing and not so easy to store.
Iron auto settings are good but new design of steam cable is on awkward position and too short. The iron has been amended that the electrical cable no longer has a storage space but left hanging so if putting away it’s no longer tidy, the same applies to steam cable that used to clip around base. The water reservoir is sticky and hard to pull out. This is my 3rd Tefal generator so the changes appear to be cost saving but are annoying.Hence 3* review. The only reason this was purchased I still like to stand my iron on its foot otherwise I would have purchased the Philips generator. I’m hoping the new instruction to use 50/50 deionised water & tap water stops the scale issues my last 3 irons have suffered after 2 years.
