I’ve tried, La Sportiva, Scarpa, Evolv, etc., then decided to take a chance on the Tenayas after reading so many amazing reviews on the Interwebs. Magically, I ordered the right size. They’re tight of course, but somehow extremely comfortable. I’m not racing to get them off my feet after each climb. There’s no bubble above my toes and I like that they’re super flexible yet aggressive in the right way. I have a longer big toe and these are kind of pointy so my toe isn’t sliding and jamming up against the front, my toes are all just nicely nestled in tight. The sock part is great and the laces are way faster to tie than other lace-up shoes. I wear these on the wall in the gym and outside (they’re amazing for edging and balancing on little tiny nubs). I personally would not recommend them for bouldering, slab, or crack but I am SO happy I found these babies. They’re also holding up really well and aren’t stretching out at all.

I've struggled to find a more aggressive shoe that worked for my foot. These give me a feel that I didn't even know I was looking for.These are awesome! The forefoot is fairly narrow and what I found with this I didn't need to downsize much to get my toes in a good position. Tight but comfortable enough for me at a full size down from street shoe.The lacing really hugs your foot nicely to remove space. I love the sensitivity and overall flexibility, yet they are still pretty solid for edging!They are a very light shoe, which I think adds to the overall feel. I think my favorite part is that I don't think about these shoes when they are on. I really can zone in on the route, problem and let my feet do the work. When laced up the laces hang off the edges and get in the way. They can be cut down or tucked away, but Tenaya, you've got to sell these with shorter laces2. Because of that super comfortable inner sleeve, they do trap smell more so than other shoes I've had. If you use something to put in the shoes to keep them dry when you aren't using them, this becomes a lot less of an issue

While this is the first pair of aggressive climbing shoes I have owned, it is far from the first I have tried. I have long, downturned toes and fairly low-volume feet. Women's climbing shoes generally stop at a 41, and I wear a 42.5, so finding unisex shoes that fit my feet was difficult! I got these shoes as an aggressive complement to my neutral Sportiva Mythos (also fit me great, for reference), and I've enjoyed working on improving my footwork with such a precise, capable shoe. They're perfect for technical face climbing, but I've also had lots of success on both overhung and slab routes...I even forgot to change shoes once for a crack climb, and they worked just fine!My only major complaint is that their inner lining makes them smell absolutely terrible. I do not have stinky feet in any other shoes, climbing or other (just smelled my other climbing shoes to double check...), but it's a real problem in these. Breathability is the only issue, and the power of the rest of the shoe makes it mostly tolerable.
