This is a very different fragrance from what my partner usually wears. For reference, he usually wears Versace Eros. So Terre D’Hermes, while also the embodiment of a Greek God like Versace Eros, the fragrances could not be more different. Terre D’Hermes is heavily citrusy🍊 and woodsy🪵. The citrus and woodsy notes are the first notes to hit the nose, which can be a little overwhelming if you are not used to citrusy scents. After the fragrance settles for a moment it becomes more pleasurable. It reminds me of summertime, nighttime on the beach, bicycling through the woods, a romantic picnic in the park. It evokes feelings of a bright and sunny romance, a clean fragrance, not quite a sensual fragrance. It embodies the innocence felt when you had your first crush ... It is a very nice fragrance overall, but if you are looking for a very sensual seductive fragrance, this is not the one. This is a bright, sunny, happy, and daytime romance sort of fragrance. I feel this is a little bit too strong to wear to work in an office, but it is great for casual afternoons evenings.

...but I'm just not there yet. I tried this original one and the Intense Vetiver. I don't know if one is any better than the other, but I have one first thought when smelling them that I can't let go of. It reminds me of old people perfume. I had read this before I got a sample and that was the first thing I thought when I smelled it and now I can't let that go. I give this actually a 2 ½ star review and not a 3. It's barely just "ok" to me, but I'll give it a few more chances. In no way did this strike me as great when I first smelled it and that's a bad start. My girlfriend loves vetiver which is why I got the other as well, but I feel the same about that one too. I'm glad I didn't blind buy this one after reading how popular it was.

Terre d'Hermes EDT is a timeless and classic fragrance that is perfect for men. The scent is fresh and earthy, with a hint of citrus that adds a touch of brightness. One of the standout notes in Terre d'Hermes EDT is the orange, which adds a warm and fruity element to the overall scent. While I love the orange note in this fragrance, I do wish that it was a bit less prominent, as it can be a bit overpowering at times. Despite this, the overall scent of Terre d'Hermes EDT is absolutely amazing. It is fresh and invigorating, making it perfect for everyday wear. The scent is not too overpowering, making it suitable for a wide range of occasions. Overall, I would highly recommend Terre d'Hermes EDT to any man looking for a timeless and classic fragrance. Blind bought this one last month and have fell in love with this scent DNA 🧬 . Even as a 24 year old, this smell has worked well for me. Opens up immediately with a realistic yet strong orange rind smell mixed with other spicy (peppery) citrus. Many have described this as a “dirty orange” scent! The wood scents then develop rather quickly and sit on my skin for a while. I would say that it projects well but not amazingly. It lasts me anywhere from 6-12 hours which is a huge plus for me. In my opinion, even as a “dirty” smell, this EDT mainly feels “clean” to me. It’s fresh fresh and energetic to me. It’s versatile (all seasons), mature (to an extent, i mean I am 24 yet this works for me) and just great! Im simply obsessed with this one, and would recommend this to ... I usually enjoy Hermes fragrances so I was a bit surprised to find myself so disappointed with this fragrance. I was underwhelmed. I can barely smell this fragrance when I spray and the notes seem very intriguing so I was looking forward to it. I have no idea what flint smells like but I'm not sure I smell it in this perfume despite being listed in the fragrance notes. I can usually smell it a little bit but not for long and obviously, the sillage is poor as well. I am open to liking this fragrance if they can improve its performance because, to be frank, I expect more from Hermes. I've seen that other people like this perfume but for some reason, my nose is unable to pick up anything praise worthy.
The fragrance opens with clear notes of grapefruit and orange, there are a bit of earthy notes at the opening. The grapefruit and orange come up as sweet and bitter at the same time, the overall opening is very pleasant. Compared to the EDP, the EDP opens less citrusy than the EDT. In just a moment, the oakmoss will add its early, woody, and slightly leathery note; the benzoin will add its vanilla sweet touch, slightly musky. These tones add some deepness to the fragrance, turning something that otherwise would be just a citrus fragrance into a more versatile citrus/woody/earthy, and more mature fragrance. Although mostly similar, the EDT version is sharper, more projecting and zesty than the EDP, whereas the EDP version is rounded, less projecting, more resinous, woody, and slightly powdery than the EDP, the EDP is less vibrant than the EDT.
Terre d'Hermes pulled me back into the fragrance world -- a little more mature, confident and discerning than I was in my 20s. I've got a sensitive and picky nose, and I gave up trying to find scents that weren't overly aquatic, gauche or fruity back in the late aughts. I put this on in the morning and get little whiffs of it throughout the day that always make me pause to admire it. Everything here is just right and infinitely wearable, measured and understated. The citrus is so well-balanced, not overly juicy or sweet and just a tinge of bitterness from the orange rind, so that it doesn't become cloying or overpowering. Earthy spice of the cedar and vetiver at the base and the flint in the heart ground it, so it feels developed and dignified, never approaching anything loud or too attention-grabbing. It's a strong, silent fragrance -- noticeable, pleasant, sophisticated and appreciated. Perfect for the office. Great for an outdoor gathering in spring or fall. Works great in formal occasions. Most consider this a fall or spring fragrance but it works well in the summer outside of the very hottest days and in the winter when the spice beneath the citrus really shines. Can't ask for much more in a fragrance.
I’m an easy to please fragrance fan. I’ve heard Terre d’Hermes get described as a “masterpiece” multiple times. Most fragrance aficionados would actually agree. However, in my 50-100 bottle collection, this is easily one of the least likeable ones I own. Not only do I not enjoy it as much as I enjoy my others, I have never received a positive comment when wearing it. This opens as a very woody and citrusy fragrance that settles down into a vetiver bomb (and not much else). This fragrance is pretty much only vetiver to me, and that is not what I’d call a masterpiece. Most people disagree with me, especially so since this fragrance is on multiple “greatest of all time” lists, but I cannot recommend this.
Terre d'Hermes was the first fragrance I ever bought, way back in 2009 and now, 13 years later I'm pleased to say it smells as timeless as ever. Compared to some fragrances which bear little resemblance to their launch formulation, Terre d'Hermes still smells exactly as I remember it.The opening gives a strong citrus blast which slowly fades into a beautiful, vetiver infused dry-down which is as sophisticated as it is alluring. It's a beautiful transition which happens gradually; as seemingly opposed as the citrus and vetiver notes are, you never sense they are competing for dominance. It should be said vetiver as a scent can take some getting used to, it's not as instantly recognisable as citrus or floral notes but here it is perfectly blended.I've tried both ... Whilst both are beautiful, the citrus notes are less noticeable in the Parfum, where the vetiver and earthy notes are more prominent. The EDT also projected more on my skin whilst the Parfum lasted slightly longer. The fact this fragrance remains as popular 16 years after it was released says everything. I can't think of an occasion which Terre d'Hermes wouldn't be suitable for; date nights, business, holidays, it's beautifully suited for all.

Terre D’Hermes by Hermes is for the man who is a poet by nature, someone who sees the extraordinary in the ordinary. This is for the man who has his feet firmly on the ground, but his head is in the stars. A creation encapsulating all the earth’s elements, like wood, flowers, and stone. Terre D’Hermes cologne’s key ingredients of grapefruit and peppers give the fragrance vigour, whilst the earthy aromas of vetiver and cedarwood add richness and aroma. It is recommended for evening wear.
