This sleeping bag literally saved my life. Not figuratively, but literally.I was on a trip in the Smoky Mountains. The entire week was rain, rain, and more rain, and everything was soaked. The forecast said a winter storm was coming soon, and I was on my way out of the backcountry when I ran into a 40-year record flash flood at the last ford. There was no way out, so I had to turn back and set up camp. That night the winter storm hit, and temperatures dropped into the low 20's. Everything was soaking wet -- even my sleeping bag sprayed water on my face when I flipped it open. But like a good synthetic bag, it kept me warm enough to get by. For the price, you can't beat it. It's relatively lightweight and packs down very well.I just spent a few days backpacking in the Grand Canyon and ordered this bag because night temperatures were forecasted for the high 30s and low 40s, with wind.I slept like a baby with a base layer on. The bag was roomy for a mummy bag and kept me plenty warm.I couldn't have been more pleased with the purchase. Thank you!

I upgraded to this from my old rectangular sleeping bag. I love that it has the interior pocket, the Velcro at the top to keep zipper from unzipping while in use, and I especially like the draw string to keep heat from escaping around my face. I like to be very warm when I sleep. I used it with a camp cot while tent camping when it got down to about 35 degrees. For most of the night I stayed very comfortable, but I did wake up just before dawn at the coldest point of the night wishing I would have brought an insulated sleeping pad to put under me. Luckily I rolled to my other side, heat rose to my cold side, and I slept great the rest of the night.

My son and I are headed on a troop adventure, canoeing on the river for four days, and I knew we needed another bag—yet it needed to be light and portable. Landed this adult sized sleeping bag and tested, unfolding it, crawling in, and—most importantly to me—getting the thing back into the travel-friendly stuff sack.It past the test. Folded over lengthwise, and folded a third over onto itself, then rolled tightly, it fit easily back into its stuck sack. This is going to be a great trip and one that I don't need to fret about getting the bags back into the sacks (in less than 40 minutes like others that require engineering and wrestling skills)
I purchased 4 of these recently for a week-long family trip to Yosemite backpack trip. We needed something lighter than our cold weather sleeping bags. Although there are several other 20F bags that are lighter, the Teton Trailhead is MUCH more affordable. The lowest overnight temperature we experienced was 44F. This bag combined with a nice sleeping pad was so warm that I did not need to zip it up mummy-style even though I was sleeping in only shorts (no shirt). Also, it is affordable for us as we needed a total of 4, which could be very expensive at a higher price per bag. The last night we even went out on a granite rock for 3 hours to watch a minor meteor shower and we were all quite comfortable at 47F without a sleeping pad (see pic).
Took the bag on a trip to PA. Ended up staying in some cabins I was unsure of, and it was supposed get down into the 30's. Fortunately, there was heat, but wasn't able to test the warmth of the bag in cold climate. What I did find out is that the bag is pretty narrow. I'm not a big guy (5'11" @ 170lb), but found it challenging to turn over in the bag. One major plus, was the amount of foot room in the bag. My feet never felt constricted (10.5W). I understand there will be concessions in a bag that is "ultralight". They're concessions I would be able to tolerate in short excursions.
I haven’t tested this in weather as low as 20°, but it was probably about 50 to 55°F where we camped up in the Black Hills/grassy plains of South Dakota, and I enjoyed this bag.I don’t love mummy bags, and since it was warm enough I just opened it all the way and used it more like a comforter while I slept on my sleeping pad in our tent and then in our vehicle. The material is soft and quiet (nice for light sleepers like me!). It feels like jersey cotton or something similar; soft, breathable, light and comfortable. It kept me warm but not sticky or sweaty like traditional sleeping bag material does. I love how easily it packs down in our compression sack (purchased separately) and how lightweight it is! Really, by the way, the bag compressed enough that if you’re not a super serious backpacker (we aren’t but I wanted to try the compression sack for packing space efficiency in my bag) the included stuff sack is totally sufficient for regular camping use. I also loved the included zippered pocket on the inside of the bag—genius! As well as the extra zipper by the feet for ventilation—a must for those whose feed need to “breathe” or to keep from overheating in the bag. We bought these for our kids but I “borrowed” it for a camping trip with my husband and I’d totally use it again!*Note: because I haven’t tested this in 20 degrees, I can’t give a credible rating as to its durability and quality on that aspect. That’s the only reason for the fewer stars in my rating!
At its price point the bag seems reasonably well designed and constructed. It is not generously cut (I'm 5'9" 160lb), but the real issue is the temperature rating. I slept in thermals, wool socks and a balaclava; on top of a Thermarest neoair xtherm max air mattress and I was not warm at 32 degrees Fahrenheit (measured inside the tent). Even if you accept that 20 degrees is the survival temp rating, 32 degrees should still be comfortable. That being said I wouldn't stake my life on this bag at 20 degrees in a survival situation. This is a summer bag. I'm returning it, and I'm a little annoyed to learn that I will be charged a return fee for what I believe is misrepresentation on the part of the manufacturer.
It seemed warmer but haven't tried it at 20F. Packed with was a nice small size. Since I am 5'3" I bought the short length. The length was ok but too narrow in the width. I couldn't turn over without whole sleeping bag turning too. Should have bought the regular length.
It did not keep me warm even at 34 degrees. It was light weight and compact. I bought it for elk/deer hunting in the black hills To do a backpack hunt. I had to wear 2 pairs of sock, 2 pairs of long johns and a hooded sweatshirt, plus I took the sleeves off a jacket and put them on my feet to keep warm. Stuffed the rest of the jacket by my feet. I also had another light blanket over the top. It is also very hard for an average guy to fit into the mummy sack with all the clothes mentioned. I am 6’ and 230lbs. If you are bigger than that you might to look some place else
