I was disappointed with the Teva choices at my local go-to shoe store. I loved my old Tevas and didnt see the current version. A friend was wearing a pair of Hurricanes and they looked like what I was looking for - and looked great! - and he told me he got them online. So I found these and ordered them right away. I was heading out for a 5-day rafting trip and needed something comfortable, sturdy, highly functional, but mostly comfortable. These fit the bill - and look great! I couldnt be happier that I found them! I hope the Hurricane line never goes away! I'll be ordering a new pair in 3-5 years when these are done! (Or maybe I should order another pair now, while they're still around?? You know how that goes!). Did I mention they fit great!

TLDR - These sandals are one of the most comfortable slipper / sandal footwears that I've ever purchased. In addition to them being extremely comfortable, they are very cute!I purchased the Khaki color in size women 6. I am truly a 5.5 wide, and feel like these fit me well enough. This strap can be bothersome as the fabric is tough so it can push into the ankle when walking if too tight and if too loose, your foot moves too much.Other than that, where the shoe bends most small grooves have formed. I bought them too late in the year to test them in all of my travels but I have worn them in and out of water, hiking in a damp rainforest environment, walking up and down hills of varying terrains, and through dry desert land up and down small mountains. The Hurricane XLT2s are comfortable, durable, and great for both leisure and active use. I wear them around town, to work (standing on my feet all day as a teacher), and on walks/bike rides/hikes around my area. The longest walk I've done is 7-8 miles wearing them, and they held up comfortably the whole time. I've worn them on wet hikes near rivers and they didn't slip. The only heads up I'd give prospective buyers is that for the first week or two, the soles left my feet black, but it washed right off and the issue tapered off within a few wears. Adjustable straps prevent blisters and the arch support feels great on my knees. Colors look great, too. Would definitely recommend these sandals- I'll probably pick up another pair myself.

Thankfully I took advantage of Teva's Terracycle program so I mailed them in to get recycled instead of tossing them in the trash.The first day, I had some rubbing where the plastic triangle is near the top of my foot by my toes but it quickly went away after the fabric began to soften up from wear. The size is just right, I almost downsized but am really glad I didn't! My old pair was larger than this pair, so keep that in mind if you're replacing some that are 5+ years old. They dry fast, are super comfortable, and are great for all adventures where water is involved! I also wear mine around town because they feel so good and are really cute. I was surprised that the sole is so springy, it reminds me of the squishy platform flip flops that were everywhere in the '00s. But they don't stay squished down like say a memory foam would, they spring back and provide a really nice cushion. The platforms are a nice height too. I can be clumsy in high platforms sometimes but I have no problem walking in these. I'm a women's 9.5 wide usually (equivalent to a men's 8.5), so I ordered both the mens 8 and 9 to see which would be a better fit and return the other. The Hurricane XLT was THE most comfortable shoe when they were first introduced and still are 40 years later. I love the periodic introduction of new patterns, color combinations, and collaborations. At present I own 7 pairs and over the years have worn out a few more.Since foot surgery in 2009, I've tried many of your other shoes, but none feels as good as the Hurricane XLT.I have one request. Please, please, please, Teva, can you build other shoes on the same shoe last (the solid form around which a shoe is molded) and specify this in the description. For instance, I would happily buy several pairs of something similar to the Outflow Universal if it were built on the same last as the Hurricane XLT.I thank you, and my feet thank you!
