Bad construction
I bought a pair of hurriane XLT last year and they are now completely unglued. I tried to reglue one of the two sandals thinking this might be just a small issue. But now they are both completely unglued. I am really disappointed with the product. I used to have a merrell sandal and they made it trough many years of hard work. The Teva are really comfy and the look nice but i tought the would last longer, wich is not the case. I tried to return them to Teva and it seems impossible... If you want something that will last, do not buy those.... Show more

Durable shoe! My dawgs are happy
I have never used hiking sandals before, but they came highly recommended by my hiking groups.Positives: I enjoyed that they were extremely lightweight and good for longer hikes. They came in good colors! Matched my vibe well. I got a funny sandal tan line! I had no trouble walking over rocky or uneven surfaces, especially since I had been concerned about rolling my ankle earlier. That wasn't a problem in these.Negatives: your feet will get dirty on unpaved hiking trails FAST. And they're difficult to clean (shoes, not feet). If you're planning on using off-trail, you might get a lot of grass and dry bushwhack stuck up the sandal straps which hurts and slows you down. I got a few blisters my first time wearing these out, but for the ease of a lightweight shoe ... But I'm happy I have them now. They're very cute and once I figure out how to clean them better I'll be wearing them on paved trails only.... Show more

Easy on my feet
I'm ashamed to say, but I don't get out like I use to, so can't say I put these to the test like I would have back in the day. Regardless, they fit well, and feel supportive for the light use I use them for. They feel solid. As an unplanned bonus, they are easy on my feet. Meaning I have problems with my big toe joint nowadays (maybe a bunion?), and these don't bother it at all. No pain, no nothing. When wearing hiking shoes there is always some mild pain at least, from the pressure of the shoe. These have none. I use to hike in Tevas all the time. Maybe time to give them a good workout on the trail again.... Show more

Good sandal
I've worn Tevas for 25 years. I wear them almost daily. Before the Hurricane I'd only bought theTerra Fi sandals, but I decided to give these a try for fun (and the fact they're $30 cheaper!). They're terrific! The velcro attachments are attached a little different than the Terra Fi but after a day or two I no longer noticed it. While the sole is definitely thinner than the Terra Fi, they feel more substantial than the Terra Fi Lites which I tried a number of years ago. I got the olive color so they go with anything. I was a little concerned about size because my Terra Fis have been 11.5 forever, but these only come in full sizes. I got the 12 and I don't notice the difference because the velcro basically customizes them. Great sandal!... Show more

High comfort / Mediocre quality
I've owned these sandals for about a month now. Upon my first few wears I proclaimed to my girlfriend that it was one of the greatest purchases I've ever made. Unfortunately I've had to walk back that statement (no pun intended). After about a week the left sandal started squeaking loudly and also kind of feels squishy under foot. After another week the straps started fraying. The Velcro pieces are unraveling or something so there are long strings of nylon hanging off. These issues make for a somewhat annoying wear and they definitely cost this product some points in my opinion. That being said however, they are very comfortable and supportive, and look great too. I would buy these again one day and hope to not have these problems again. If I did then I would stay ... MoreI've owned these sandals for about a month now. Buyer beware. 3/5.... Show more

I live in these things
After close to a decade my Terra Fi's finally developed a crack/hole in the ball of one foot. Wasn't ready to shell out another $100+ so I picked up a great colorway (Terra Fi's should come with more color options!!!) of the Hurricane XLT2. Initially ordered the "men's" Blue Multi, but then a few days later saw the same Blue Multi but with a different heel strap color, on sale for half the price! Turns out these were marked as "women's" size 14, not Men's 12, but it would appear the Hurricane XLT2's are all gender anyways - so I'm cool with it! The sole does seem to be almost identical to my old Terra Fi's - just a bit lighter. I doubt I'll get as many years out of these as my old Terra Fi's, but for less than 1/3rd of the price I'm not complaining. The only gripes ... When I want to get a tight fit (which is rare - I like wearing them a little loose) they both hang off the side of the sandal quite a bit (the toe strap by about 3/4" and the top of the foot by closer to 2".) If I line the hooks and loops up exactly on the top of the foot they are SUPER loose.... Show more

Love the fit, but bonding needs improvement
I own two pairs of these sandal. One pair has performed flawlessly. The other pair has an outsole parting from the toe back to the first strap. The most action they have seen is two trips to the beach, and split duty with the other pair with gardening, walks around the neighborhood, and trips to the store. Nothing even close to rough. It doesn't appear that they can handle the heat and humidity of SE Texas. Since they are 21 months old, they don't qualify for the warranty and Teva offers no advice on how to fix them. I love the fit and support, but if they can't last more than one season, then they need to be purchased annually, which clearly doesn't support Teva's policy of reducing waste.... Show more

More comfortable than I expected
These were my first dad-sandals after about 20 years in flip-flops or Birks. They're really secure, sure footed, and much more comfortable than I expected with the soft footbeds. The colours are great as well.My only complaint would be that there could be more padding behind the webbing on the toe strap, as there is on the heel. After walking in low tide for about two hours I had a nasty abrasion on the outside edge of my biggest and littlest piggies.Otherwise I'm happy with them, I'll keep them for sure.... Show more

My favorite shoe I have ever owned. Sturdy and comfortable.
I don't write a lot of reviews, but I love this shoe so much, I felt like I had to. My first pair lasted over 4 years of continuous use on rugged terrain as well as every day tasks around town. They are very comfortable and also sturdy. You can wear them without the back strap for casual use (just strap it off to the side), and for more technical activities, you can throw the back strap back on and you're good to go. I wear mine around town, while out rock climbing, and on just about any hike that could be done in a day or less. I will probably always have a pair of Tevas.I imagine that many people who read this will be debating Tevas and Chacos, so I will offer my two cents as someone who has owned both:The footbed on a pair of Chacos is sturdier, which means ... However this also makes Chacos feel awkward to wear. The footbed is heavy and clunky, and snags on things quite frequently. Chaco straps are also harder to adjust, and they make the shoe relatively difficult to take on/off. Chacos also have a tendency to cause blisters (with or without the toe strap).Tevas are all around more comfortable. They don't easily cause blisters, are easier to adjust, easier to take on/off, and are still very capable in most environments. I would much rather spend a long day of hiking or running errands in my Tevas.Overall, I would recommend Tevas over Chacos 9 times out of 10, with the one exception being on water hikes. I wear my Tevas nearly every day, while my Chacos sit around and collect dust. This is because most times that I am going somewhere where I would want Chacos instead of Tevas, I would be better off wearing hiking shoes or boots anyways. Tevas are just so much more comfortable, and are far more capable than I need them to be.... Show more

Perfectly Designed Sandal
These sandals are comfortable, durable, and stylish. The only reason I've had to replace them is due to losing them. I've hiked, swam, jogged, biked, and they've held up to daily summer use. The footbed is very comfortable and hasn't worn down with use over several years of ownership. They tend to run slightly large compared to other major brands of footwear, but this hasn't caused discomfort. I like the fit to be a little larger than what you see models wearing in the product photos (in order to keep tips of toes from bumping into things/collecting dirt).... Show more
