There are many elements of these that I find great. The cushion is great and I love that the strap connection points are covered and the straps themselves are lightly padded.Unfortunately the fit for me was a bit long and narrow. I'm an 11 in most shoes even though I'm probably a true 10.5 but ordered an 11 in these. 10.5 wasn't available anyways. I could live with this even though it compromised the ability to do anything more than light trails and casual use, forget using them for anything technical. These also lack some rigidity in the soles for that type of use, but that is just personal preference. All of this was livable until chunks of the tread started coming off after some really light use. I'm talking about paved trails and beach walks. I've had several pairs of your TERRA Fi 5 and one pair of STRTA, loved them all literally to pieces over many many miles, would recommend either model without any reservation The TERRA Fi LITE not so much. It seems that the padding on the straps both heel and toe doesn't cover enough and rubs, never had that happen before. Also the straps seem shorter and narrower. Understandably the foot pad and sole were thinner to make them lighter, I was OK with that. Bought the LITEs because you had them on sale, bad move. Will be ordering another pair of Fi5s or STRATA soon and will send LITEs back to you, don't want them on my blistered feet again.

I've worn Teva sandals for decades. I wear them all year. The only times I don't wear them are at work and if its very cold and wet (cold is okay, and wet is okay, but I draw the line at snow!). Two years ago I decided to try the FI Lites after my FI 4 pair finally wore out after six years of wear and abuse. I could immediately tell that they were lighter and thinner, but they're still very comfortable. But, I do prefer the sturdiness that I get from the FI 4. After one year a part of the sole was cracked, and after two years, they are worn through the soles in several places. The soles of the FI Lites are far more worn after two years than the six year old FI 4 pair I bought them to replace. I'd certainly recommend them to somebody who only occasionally wears ... MoreI've worn Teva sandals for decades. I wear them all year. I'd certainly recommend them to somebody who only occasionally wears sandals, or doesn't wear them hard. I gave them a 4 of 5 rating because they're excellent for the right person, but not for me. I'm tough on shoes and will go back to the FI 4.

I tend to wear my Tevas anytime I'm not wearing shoes and that pretty much says it all.A couple of things though. The soles and foot beds on the last two pairs have been softer and thinner than I like. They feel less sturdy to me and a bit to flexible. Take them out and try them on the rocks around streams or on a rocky shore and you'll see what I mean. This may be a silly thing that shows my age, (I've been wearing these since the time they were made in Israel), but the strap of the pair I just purchased that goes over the top of your arch closes on the outside of the sandal. Meaning you basically have to sit down to put them on instead of lifting your foot up and to the inside (like your were crossing your leg) to close that strap. I just don't get that.....
This model often gets overlooked in favor of the numbered Terra Fi model (current model is the Terra Fi 5). The Terra Fi 5 feels more "premium," but its "premium" feeling padding and overall heftier feel gives me ankle/heel issues for days after wearing them. In comparison, this Lite model doesn't feel cheap at all; it just doesn't feel as heavy as the Fi 5, but I've never had foot/ankle issues from wearing the Lite. These are shoes I've mostly worn just for the summer, but are my primary shoes around town or anywhere else I go for those 3 months of the year, and it took >5 years for a pair to start to fall apart on me, and by that point the sole was long since worn down and should've been replaced by that point. I wish the Lite was more present at stores, but as ... MoreThis model often gets overlooked in favor of the numbered Terra Fi model (current model is the Terra Fi 5). Were them nearly every day. Very comfortable. Only thing is getting a separation footbed to sole near front strap. Left sandal, anything we can do? Hopefully it doesn't get worse. Other than that I will wear them forever! Forth pair of Tevas! Still have them all!
I purchased these looking for more comfort while hiking but got so much more. Initial inspection revealed superb construction and after putting about 10 miles on them, both with and without socks, they are just as comfortable as they are well made. Not a blister or hot spot to be found. I really put them to the test this week when I tackled the pink granite of Enchanted Rock. They had great traction on the trail leading to the base and continued to perform on the damp rock face all the way to the summit. Not one slip was had. After the climb I decided to use them while scrambling the boulder field and caving even though I'd brought my approach shoes for those occasions. Took a little break at the cave entrance and then proceeded into the cave. These sandals handled ... MoreI purchased these looking for more comfort while hiking but got so much more. Took a little break at the cave entrance and then proceeded into the cave. These sandals handled the slippery rock almost like dedicated climbing shoes. The traction was excellent on the steep decent too. No wear was evident anywhere on the sandals. Overall I give these sandals two enthusiastic thumbs up. Thanks Teva for a quality product that exceeds all expectations!
Started wearing Teva sandals 25 years ago in Hong Kong. The soles were tire tread: never wore out and never flexed. Got the Terra Fi Lite as one of the first sandals Teva said was vegan (used to think all synthetic sandals were vegan; not so; there is the glue). They were 'lite' all around: light soles, light straps. But grippy and comfortable (with Thorlo socks). When the soles wore out after 2+ years and many miles hiking, Teva only had Lite in women's, so I got the regular Terra Fi 4 (now listed as vegan). It was the first Teva to give me blisters, but I did break it in. Besides being a gravel collector, the soles split after 15 months and reduced hiking miles. Very happy the men's Lite has returned. It as good as the original. No blisters and not collecting ... MoreStarted wearing Teva sandals 25 years ago in Hong Kong. The soles were tire tread: never wore out and never flexed. It as good as the original. No blisters and not collecting gravel. Plenty of support, and sizing is spot on. For casual use and short urban hikes (2-3 miles), this is the best vegan footwear (and, I suspect, the best bar none).
