I say in a comparison manner because roughly a year ago I had the then (and I believe still) latest graphing calculator from Casio, mainly for the price of roughly $50, but also because I still have a scientific calculator from Casio that I love. It’s ability to graph is both more limited and more complicated to fully understand. Simply not nearly as user friendly. Meanwhile back in the mid to late 90’s I had a TI-83 (standard version) graphing calculator that was great and easy to operate and understand, once initially learned that is. Please provide an opt out for reviews. In this case the item was purchased per school supply list. I never opened the package but gave it to student’s father. It is a standard calculator that I expect is for teachers’ benefit - focusing students on tasks. School issued computers can carry out the same functions but run the risk of student’s’ attention going elsewhere.

This was a used unit. It arrived quickly and in excellent condition, and perfect working order. I bought this graphing calculator because my grandson is using one in high school, and I wanted to be able to help him with his studies. The calculator is mostly useful for math instruction at the high school level, and is one of the models acceptable for use at the SAT's. It is not exactly intuitive to use, but there are a lot of YouTube videos to help. I don't find it all that useful for regular calculator use, however. I mostly use a much simpler, less expensiveTI-30 calculator for that purpose. Or, of course, my more complex math there are the online sites like Wolfram.

Love that this guy is rechargeable. Haven't had to recharge it yet at all, but it's a good feature instead of having to worry about batteries failing during a test or a late night homework session. You can view battery status on-screen, so you'd know to charge it before a test if needed.Everything functions as it's supposed to. It does a lot more than I'd ever need it for (calculus stuff). It DID take me a little bit to get familiar with it as I hadn't used a calculator like this in over 20 years. The color screen is great when looking at different functions at the same time, whether it's piecewise or just differentiations.I know there's a Casio out there that does pretty much identical things, but I've always trusted TI, and it seems most universities do as well.
I purchased this TI-84+ CE Graphing calculator for my middle schooler. It's normally priced higher, but I happened to catch it at a good deal. While the schools are using a TI-84+, this version has color to contrast different graphs, has more memory and a faster processor. I was hoping to grab one that supports Python programming, but I believe this one can be upgraded to support Python. I'm hoping that this can be used for many years of schooling.
You best have know how on this calculator because it isn't easy to use. I purchased this for my daughter to use for high school algebra, and I sincerely hope she can figure out how to use it. I gave it a shot and I just didn't find it easy to use. For the price I would hope they would have better instructions or a video to watch to get started. The color is nice is about the only thing I can say about this calculator. Again for someone who knows what they are doing I'm sure this is a wonderful device.
Better than the 84 plus, way better than the 83 plus. Faster computing power, and color graphs can be easier to compare different scenarios. Easier than the ti Nspire. I have all 4 models, being a math teacher. I also tutored a college student that was required to use this model. I plan on using it with STEM projects involving the Innovator.

When graphing multiple equations, it makes tracing the intercepts much easier on the eyes. The backlit screen also makes it easier to see in dim situations.Overall, it's another great step for TI calculators, though most of the functions can be replaced with a smartphone. The major advantage for this or most TI calculators is that they are allowed in class and during most standardized tests (AP, SAT, ACT), while phones are not.
This is the next evolution in TI's 84 series of calculators. It adds the ability to program in python. I have done some simple programs and likely will try writing on a laptop and transferring to the calc in the future for anything larger than a very small program. As a calculator nerd I like this calculator. I also have the HP Prime and both have a space on my desk. Students will get the calculator recommended for their classes, and this should be on their list for consideration. It might be a bit overwhelming for students prior to exposure to trigonometry or higher.
One of the best graphing calculators I've used. The Colored Ti-84 Plus makes it very easy to differ multiple graphs in one window. This calculator is very useful for College Math courses, of course you'll have to ask your professor if it is worth buying. In my case, I am taking a lot of Math courses, consulted with my professor, and finally made the decision to buy this. (This won't be in my closet after a class or 2 of Math). Very much recommended. Also, check for price match, that is also very useful- I got mine at ~$100 !
